If people like me pull out of subsidising the `coin in slot` users then the average ebico price will have to rise. Finances in general, being what they are at the moment, will enforce many of us to take our ethical hats off. That does not stop ebico being a good company re clarity and ethics
High users of ebico electricity must be paying way over the odds. I class myself as a low to moderate user and can still save £69+ by changing to BG0 -
Well said Alared, don't like to gang up ,but, Carmine, you're killing a good company for the sake of a bit of conversation.
Ebico is a Green Tariff as well.0 -

Where have I ever suggested that?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I am just coming to the end of my price fix 2008 with Southern and for me the best price for gas is Ebico.
I used to be with Ebico but swapped to Southern for the price fix, so it looks like i,m going back to a very fair price compared to others at the moment.
But i am swapping my electric (North Wales area) to the British Gas click 6 tariff as Ebico,s electric tariff is too expensive for me.0 -
Out of curiosity I searched for an electricity tariff and top of the list came Scottish Power making a saving of £58 a year.(E Mids area,econ7)
This was the same whether using their standard charge or no standing charge tariffs.
BGas click6 was well down the list.
The problem is do I believe these savings.
As I have said on numerous occasions,it`s not as straight forward as putting a few "loaded" details into a comparison site.
They`ll always come up with a saving because unless they can convince you to switch
they don`t get their £50 fee.
A bit of maths is required but it`s not easy with 1st tier, remaining units, summer months, winter months,so-called discounts, that have a habit of not showing at the end of a year plus they effectively tie you in or you lose the discount.
This,of course,is all done deliberately by the energy providers so you can`t compare like for like.
Why do they need 20 to 30 different tariffs?
Just to bambozzle you.
Think I`ll stick with Ebico.0 -
Really?
Premier, please stop this. Even if I wanted to kill Ebico (I don't!!! ), how flattering for you to think I could! The problem we have here IMO is I can see the downside of some aspects of their business plan and you clearly can't. You clearly are so devoted that you get uppity when anyone has the temerity to in any way point out the pitfalls of being with them. That's not my problem, frankly, it's entirely yours. I'm not debating with you about Ebico further as it's an entirely futile experience. Effuse away to your heart's content.
Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
I’m with Ebico for gas and electricity.
Our last year’s electricity consumption was 2335 kwh. I went to the Energy Helpline to see if it was worthwhile to switch electricity.
Energy Helpline said our annual cost was £321, which is correct using Ebico’s new prices. However they said I could save £80 by changing to British Gas Click Energy 6, (Cost £241) Quoted unit price 19.684p for the first 125 kWh per quarter, and 9.210p thereafter The annual price they gave was £241. I worked it out at £267.
However on British Gas website the actual prices quoted are Tier 1, 25.380p per kWh, Tier 2, 11.874p per kWh. This works out at an annual price of £396, which is £75 more than I pay now, so don’t suppose I’ll be switching.
I’ll get round to checking gas prices one of these days.0 -

Based on MY own usage (i do know this) BG click 6 is the cheapest tariff for electric.
If you can afford not to save yourself £58 a year then good on you but i would personally want to save myself £58 than give the rip-off energy companys anymore money than what i have to.
Yes i do know that you like what Ebico stands for and it,s straight forward billing (just thought i would say that for you) but there is cheaper alternatives for people.
Remember i am going back to Ebico for my gas and i am in no way slagging them off.0 -

Your Price
Click Energy 6 Electricity for **** ***
Meter Type: Single Rate Credit
Payment Method: Monthly Direct Debit
Tier 1 19.810p per kWh
Tier 2 9.849p per kWh

Can you post a link to these prices? Eastern region Click Energy 6?
http://www.britishgas.co.uk/pdf/Click6-elec.pdf
above is a link for all regions.
So the quote 'benz' got for Eastern region is exactly correct(19.684/9.210p)
He is correct that using those figures it comes to £267.42 but before discounts.
Discounts can be up to £55 a year.0
