soup ?...if u float a cut potato on a soup/stew it sucks up the salt....not sure that would work with a quiche

I could put thin slices of potato in it ,
wondering whether to cut up the gammon and soak it in milk before hand ??

I put 2 gammon joints in the SC and because I was a bit [STRIKE]impatient [/STRIKE] pushed for time ;) I put it on high :o

The result... Dry, tough, not nice gammon :(

I am gutted. The last time I did it (on low) it was beautiful and kept me in sandwiches for a week... that was one joint. Now I have 2 horrible joints.

Anybody got any ideas of what I can do with them please? (and I don't have a dog or cat so can't even feed it to them)
  • You could try putting them in some water or apple juice and simmering them on the hob for a while.

    Sorry to hear that. :(

Could you make up some Gammon hash. It might need adapting though.
  • What about anything that involves a sauce. So for example Macaroni cheese with ham.
