But now I'm wondering if it's *that* kind of a ham, or if I should be doing something Nigella-ish with it instead.

Does it have cooking instructions on the wrapper? If so, you'll need to cook it before you slice it up. If it's cooked already though I'd just slice it.

    Hi Hootie,

Is it already cooked? If so, this thread should give you lots of ideas:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Thanks for the link Pink - got a 2.5kg gammon in Mr T's yesterday for £6 and was wondering what else I could do with it, living on my own was starting to think it maybe gammon for weeks lol

I looked at them for £6 but dont think we could use it up. I think frozen ham products taste like rancid fish so freezing not on.

  • Hi

We bought a couple of these ham joints - have cut each one into two, and they are now in the freezer. Did this last year and no problems with freezing the ham - it was delish

  • Hi everyone,

I have a gammon joint in the slow cooker that will be ready for tea tonight. I am going to cut a few slices off for lunches this week and wondered what I could do with the rest.
I fancy something different, rather than just a slice with chips, peas and fried egg.
    Anyone got any ideas please?

We have got gammon tomorrow, be having it with mash, cauliflower cheese & carrots. Wednesday it'll be ham egg and chips, Thurs it'll be ham ploughmans.

We also have it with bubble n squeak, chopped up and cooked with rice. It'll also provide us with sandwiches thoughout the week. Have a look at the indexed collections, there'll be loads of suggestions in there :)
