  • Good Morning All

Kiwichick and Moggins - as others have said I would get down to the doctors - I have had inner ear infections before and to me it feels like you are on a boat not pleasant. (((hugs))) and get well soon.

Zed42 - am very jealous, once Ive finished in my office I will be getting the ironing board out and will prob be doing it for a verrrrryyy long time - hope something good is on telly.

Just had marmite on toast and awaiting tescos delivery - its only a small one. Have got sausages defrosting ready for toad in the hole tonight and hope to make a large chilli that we will have tomm. Might have guests tomm so will make it very large to cover if they stay for tea or loads for the freezer if not.

Weather here is lovely bright and sunny but there is a bit of chill to the air.

Off now, need to order some Bday presents online - have a great day.

Shez - i use Mcdougalls as well, and i think with scones, you need to treat it like pastry, try not to handle it too much, and i think they do rise better if you just shape them, rather than cut them!!!!

    Morning everyone

I want to say thank you to everyone after my post yesterday. I knew you were all lovely but didn't expect all the virtual hugs and support, so thank you for being so kind.

Basically I was full time here until my lung op. I came back on a 4 day week with one p/timer. They then took on another lady who did p/t here and p/t in another office. The manager in that office has decided to downgrade and so this p/timer has been given her job, which means she is no longer coming to my office to help out (is everyone still with me??) So, the bosses came to say that I must now go back to full time. I mentioned my anaemia but they just sat there looking at me like I didn't have a choice, so full time starts as of today. (5 1/2 days - 40 + hrs). The co does not have a HR dept or personnel dept, it's all very ad hoc.

I am looking for another job anyway because they just take the p***but there is very little around here, and I am also responsible for getting my dd2 to and from school 9 miles away. I just feel so stuck.

Moggins, Kiwichick and all those with toothache, earache or any ache - have a ((hug)) and look after yourselves

joannasmum - ouch! Hope you are resting up.

No OS going on here today - far too fed up and pre-occupied.

    regards

Kiwichick - I assumed you were going to see the doc, my suggestion was only as an interim thing - you really do need it looked at.
Moggins - STOP!!! your body is telling you to stop right now. You've overdone it and your body is protesting - trust me on this. You need to do lots of 'chillin' - no nonsense about 'stuff needs doing'. Do go and see the doc, and get as much rest as possible..... please :D
Ow! Brain freeze and timmer beeping.
Thanks for the idea on chiseling the wood out - if I can't burn it out I'll see if I can borrow a chisel again (once the owner is home, lol).
Any other ideas on getting the stump out gratefully received :D
    Best get to it,

    and :hello: hullo shez!

    Hello PP!

cat - do you use the ordinary mcdougalls flour or the special sponge mix one?
What about ordinary tesco/asda own brand - apart from value/smart price that is?
I did use a 2.5" cutter (which recipe stated) - and I used the half of bicarb/cream of tartar instead of baking powder - i wonder if bkpowder would be any better? I always think adding abit to self raising flour helps it abit?

what recipe do you use for scones?
