  • Morning all.

Haven't posted in a while, but have been reading along. Hugs to all those who I should've hugged in the meantime!

Penny Pincher I had to laugh at your daughter and the biology book. I was tidying in my 7yo son's room yesterday and the mini encyclopaedia beside his bed was open at the reproduction system's page.

Scuzz Good luck with the car - and I'm with you on the restorative properties of Johnny Depp. ;)

Chipps ooOOooo ... get you, with the new car! Congratulations! I bet its got the "new car smell" and everything! Fabulous - enjoy - and yes, ignore hubby's "helpful" comments. :D

Kazonline I think my best suggestion would be to take a hammer and chisel to the stump and try to fracture it so that it comes out in bits!

Kiwichick Eww, that sounds nasty, poor you! Reckon you need to get some antibiotics to work on that, before it gets the better of you.

Lillibet You could only give the car to one person anyway, so if you tell your favourite that, at the last minute, the situation changed and you're having to keep him a bit longer, but that you'll hold onto their email address and get back in touch when you're eventually letting him go, they shouldn't have much to complain about. As for the rest, well, I expect most of them don't anticipate getting him anyway, so you won't be disappointing them. As for the 50% commission, yes that does seem a hefty whack! I'm sure the one I used to use in Rochester took less than that, but its been a few years now, so I don't remember exactly.

Catowen Congrats on the new computer! You'll feel like you've got power steering, once its all loaded up and doing its stuff. :D

Moggins Hiya! Sounds like you could have some sinus problems going on there. For goodness sake take care and don't try to do too much today. Hope it clears very soon!

ScrimperJan :rotfl: You've made my day!! :D Too funny!

Joannasmum Ouch!! Oh, you poor thing. Do you have any Witch Hazel in the house? If so, I'd recommend using it three or four times a day on the bruising - it really helps to bring bruising down and reduce swelling. Hope it feels better later on!

Zed42 Jeepers, that does seem an awful lot for electricity! One tip, do you keep the t.v. turned off, or on standby? It uses as much elec. on standby as when its on, so its worth turning it right off when you're not using it. Also, try washing everything at 40deg. Made a HUGE difference to our leccy bill, just doing those two things. Its now down to around £90 a quarter.

Tootles What's a "stouchie"???? That's a new one for me!

It looks like its going to be a hot and sunny one here again today, so I must get the washing on the line while I still can. Then, after a run around the garden with a shovel and a bucket, collecting that which the dogs leave behind .. eww .., I must hare around the house with the vac. The loo is cleaned, dinner tonight is done (h/m chilli from the freezer). After that, my two main priorities are to bath No.2 dog (who obviously hasn't used his deodorant lately) and get on with some more card making. :T Hopefully at some point in amongst all that, the Doc will ring and I can arrange for some antibiotics to deal with the abcess that I have under a crown. :( The best appt. I could get with a dentist was in 2 wks time! I'll have shot myself, by then!

    B : Shreddies, skimmed milk & honey
L : Jacket potato with sweetcorn
    D : Chilli and rice
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Lunch yesterday:

Freshly baked, crusty bread, topped with the sweetest vine-ripened cherry tomatoes, just-plucked tender leaves of basil, and generous shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano...

This isn't just food....this is MSE food. Bread from my breadmaker, tomatoes & basil from the garden, parmesan on offer at Lidl.

    Aaah! I feel rich!

LOL - DH works for M & S and we do enjoy their food (luckily with discount) but I do try to make as much from scratch as possible and save the ready meals for when I'm too tired to cook.

Moggins - it does sound like the labyrinthitis I had and it can linger if you don't get it treated - same for you Kiwichick, you shouldn't risk your hearing.

Only spent £30.50 for the first week of my grocery challenge so feeling very virtuous :D

Whenever I see the M&S ads I remember my ex and the very grotty factory he used to work in where they made M&S food for minimum wage. Oh the stories he used to tell!

Well I don't know how this post ended up here, it was posted in the M&S thread which has vanished. I'm so confused!

    Good Morning OStylers:D

I made some scones this morning -for my sis, whos in hospital at mo, think she'd like a change from the bread pudding i keep making for her!!
(ark at me baking scones in the morning!:rotfl: )

I did a devon scone recipe from and old stork margarine leaflet book - they taste alright - but they didnt rise as much as I thought they would and are not as soft as the shop bought ones - is this right? Any tips from you budding cooks on here??

I tried the Homepride self raising flour today, instead of the smart price flour. What flour does everyone else use? (I have used the McDougalls Sponge Flour which I have found the best risen cakes so far with, but expensive).

penpen - Nah I havent got any damsons, but Im just trying to keep up with all you lot on here!! I think i missed the lemon curd recipe is it on the index thread? I do have lots of lemons due to half price fruit and veg in Lidl!
Is the go-kart making for you??????:D :rotfl:

Doddsy - hope you get yr work problems sorted out x
pp - cant wait to see pics of new bathroom!
scuzz - COR yeah popcorn expensive or what!!! I usually take my own now and drinks (tightwad!)
Chipps - what car did you get? does it still smell all newy??
Kaz - yacky dar! will ask my DH if he has any tips about yr fence.
lillebet - they teach kids at my DS school to sign when they do songs/nativities etc, pretty standard now as they have to be politically correct to everyones needs nowadays - but it is good. My SIL is deaf and so is her DH, but the kids aren't, so i always try to get her/them to teach me some signs, its always useful.
    skystar -enjoy yr comedy show
taplady - pigeons, what they have alot of poop??:o or are they for putting in a pie!!! :rotfl: (sorry)
zed42 - Ive been meaning to sort out my leccy/gas too - I keep thinking about finding out and switching cos everyone says you will save money - but after my fiasco with talk talk - i am abit reluctant to switch and rather sort a fixed rate and stay put!
poshpaws - DONT MENTION DENTISTS - dont u find that as soon as someone mentions them we all start to get toothache???:rotfl:

Had a nice coffee, so must get on with some work now:eek:

    have a good day everyone!
