Morning all!
Hugs to everyone - it seems like everyone is struggling with something at the moment
Up bright and early today -we're off to my SiL's to let NTL in. She's at work but we have a day off so we'll do her a favour - she's been trying to cancel for ages but because the account was in her ex-boyfriend's name (but she was paying:mad: ) they wouldn't cancel unless he phoned up! Eventually DH had to phone and pretend to be the ex!
Will be going armed with a stack of books. Breakfast was weetabix and raisins, no idea what's for lunch or dinner!
Enjoy your day everyone :j0 -
Good morning all
dlb - it'll be nice to get your "real" hubby back, won't it!
hello to everyone on here!
Well, yesterday we got our new car. It's the first time we've ever had a brand new car!!! Hopefully it will pay for itself with the savings on fuel, tax, insurance & maintenance etc. (I worked it out that it should do that by the time we have had it 3 years.) Now we have no savings, but then again we do have a new car & no car loan. We just don't need any unexpected big bills in the very near future!!!!
DH drove it yesterday, so my turn will come today. I'd rather do that without him beside me giving 'helpful' advice!!!
Yesterday was incredibly un-OS, as well as buying a car, DH took DS & me out to dinner (local wetherspoons has curry night on Thursday: £4.99 for curry & drink)
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all, well I'm showered and dressed - which is more than I would've been this time last year
Despite my intentions for yesterday I had one of my lethargic bouts. I tried cracking on - but was so slow I might as well have done nowt. Tried a relax/recharge exercise - but couldn't focus on it. In the end I curled up on the sofa to watch a little TV - and woke in the afternoon!!!!
It was so gorgeouse by then - and I still couldn't get the 'oomph' to 'fly - so I opted to paint some more fence panels.
When the boys came home I pulled down one of the old (broken) ones - and a post broke. Scooped out what I could from the metal post holder, and the spent the rest of the night trying to burn the rest of the stump out. We were still at it at 9pm - and it's still not done! Thing we tried include pouring barbecue fluid on it and leaving it to soak before lighting it - great fire, but barely any stump burnt! Even drilled a hole into the stump, and poured fluid into that, leaving to soak before lighting.
Any ideas what to try next?
Well, best crack on (drink my tea, lol)
Great to see so many of you do read the end of the threads - I've often wondered about that

Morning All,
I've not read the end of yesterdays thread yet so am sorry for not commenting on it. Hugs to any/all the are in need though.
I am feeling decidedly s***e today. I woke with a really sore right ear yesterday. Thought I had slept funny but as the day wore on it got worse and the pain was inside rather than out. Today its awful, my inner ear is so swollen I cant get a cotton bud into it. Its hurts like hell and I'm feeling very dizzy toowhich is making me sick. I cant hear out of it anymore and its making a kind of squishy sounds when I swallow or talk. Reckon I've got an ear infection, now I know why kids moan so much if they have one.
I have playgroup to set up this morning but when thats finished I shall come home and kip in front of the tv for a couple of hours with the littlies before getting DD from school.
Back later,

Morning everyone:hello:
Had a quiet day yesterday, today back to baby signing classes with Spud & have convinced my neighbour & her 8 month old to come along with us. Not very MS at £4.50 a session but great fun & interaction & gets me out & Spud is starting to sign back & makes a sound each time...eventually it'll turn into a word! So he is learing about speach & communication from it:D
Yesterday I reluctantly put my beloved very old car on freecycle & had about 30 replies in the first 10 minutes, glad I didn't respond straight away 'cos Hubby came home & has worked out a way for me to keep it a bit longer:j But now I feel really bad for all the nice people who want him, some of them sent such nice replies....:embarasse I don't like messing people around & haven't yet told them:o
Took a load of Spuds outgrown clothes to a local childrens consignment shop yesterday as I haven't had time to ebay them & this is a good way of supporting a local business which recycles. I was shocked that their commission rate was 50%:shocked: Anyone know if this is normal? Anyway, have given them a whirl, will seee how they sell.
Last nighh we had a lovveellllly lamb casserol for dinner, cost £4.57 in organic lamb which I padded out with lots of veg & pulses expecting to get 2 nights out of it, it was so nice we ate almost all of it:o Except Spud, who is going through a phase of rejecting everything except strawberries & rice cakes thean waking up in the night hungary:rolleyes:
Have a good day eveyone:wave:Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Morning all,
Feels a but nippy but have hung washing out in anticipation of some sun.
dlbGood luck to your hubbie, what a fab new job, thats the sort of thing I would love to do.
Not much planned today, haven't spent much time in the garden over the last week so will potter about there and need to pop to the library.
Will pass the apple tree on the way back so will see if I can fill another bag as got some friends coming over for a meal tomorrow night and a freshly baked apple pudding will go down a treat.
Hugs to all that want one:D

Chipps - lol re the new car and driving without hubby. I remember when we made the change from little cars (metro/fiesta) to a longer car (sierra saphire). We bought it fairly late in the eve and I had to use it for the school run the next day so I took it to a near by car park to practice without DH or little uns. Got there and as I was tired it took me a while to realise why I was struggling - the reverse lights were broken and I was trying to park almost blindly!
Edit to say -
Lillibet - I'm sure I read somewhere that children who learn to sign learn to talk quicker and are generally more content. A friend of mine taught her daughter a few basic signs - and that certainly proved true of her.
Kiwichick - try putting a warm compress on the side of your face - it may hurt a little initally, but it should then ease the pain. Hope it gets better soon.
Oo - Icemaiden - that reminded me about my dream last night! I dreamt that my nasty neighbours had apple trees in their garden and I was sooo jealouse, but pleased that I knew they could survive in our soil!
Sorry - I'm going now. Waffling and tea going coldJanuary '06 Grocery Challenge (4th - 31st) £320.Week 1 - £73.99 Week 2 £5.10 (so far)

Good morning everyone,
I havnt managed to keep up with the threads yesterday either, as i got my new computer yesterday!!!!! Of course, since then ive been playing around with it, and trying to load all my things back onto it, but not being that 'computer savvy' its taking quite a long time!!!!
So (((HUGS))) to everyone who needs one xxx
Have 3 little ones here today, and so far the weather is lovely, so i think a trip to the little park is in order, i also want to pop into a shop and get some gin for little ones dad, who gave me the computer.
