  • Morning all!

Can't sleep - no good reason, so I've left DH to it and come to look on here.

Good day yesterday - FLC II in the morning, then Freecycling in the afternoon. Got a scanner, pram wheels (to make a go-kart), hammock and a cupboard. Wasn't sure about this (took a chance as offrerers couldn't post a photo), but it's now in my living room with a fruit bowl on top. Will be great to help with my paper clutter hot spot, and the Fly Lady task for October. Then choir started back. Love going there but we're doing a G&S piece, and it's not my fave.

Rzl, went to meet a friend at York Uni yesterday. We're doing a bit of a professional collaboration. Thought of you, as Totty Building Services are doing loads there, too! :D

Shez, have you damsons for the jam? Have you tried the lemon curd yet? That's really easy.

Doddsy, that sounds a bit harsh. Does your company employ anyone on a part time basis? If so, they should agree to your being part time, too. I'm not an employment specialist, but if you'd like some CAB advice, PM me and I'll look into it next week when I'm back in the office.

    Moggins, enjoy the books!

Kaz, I read your post, but not until this morning!

(((((Hugs))))) to all who need them.

Off to Sheffield with DH today - rugs for the hallway, and a duvet cover for our room. Will be nice to spend some time together.

    Morning everyone!

Morning Penelope Penguin, hope you managed to get back to sleep. I had a longer than usual sleep last night, aided and abetted by a little sleeping pill. I don't take them very often, but sometimes needs must.

Today - tidying up is the thing to do as I am so messy, leave a trail of destruction behind me, and don't realise or notice until I conciously have a good look.

I've been chatting to my friend in Italy via MSN this past few days. She's still having an awful time, not over her divorce at all. Life does throw an awful lot of brown smelly stuff at an awful lot of people.

Morning to anyone I have cross posted with, and all to follow.

    Morning all
Can't sleep as my heads filled with money and job concerns - ie I haven't got either of them !
But today is my turning point, not so much a LBM but a day where I start to sort it all out.
Not caught up with the last two days threads as I've been like a whirlwind in DS's bedrooms, armed with stardrops, vinegar and zoflora.
Hope everyone is well and settling into their school routines.
    Hugs as required.

  • Morning Guys!

Not slept well again, but have a hospital appointment that I have to attend today-cant get out of it!

DD is up already and says she cant wait till tomorrow to have a lay in. Shes never laid in as shes always been a light sleeper-am hoping this secondary school lark will knock her into a better routine! Maybe we might even get a lay in on the weekend too:confused: She got a ton more of books yesterday and showed me the Biology one, which she immediately showed me the pages on reproduction:rolleyes: :rotfl: ...typical! Lucky she already knows about the birds and bees:D

Bathroom looks fabulous and the builder will finish today, but still have to wait for the electrician either monday or tuesday:eek:

We have to go into town after school to get DD a few things she needs, so may use a couple of the vouchers Starbucks sent and DD loves their hot choc or iced frappochinion (sp):D

Anyway, have to go and eat.

    Breakie: Cheese Omelette
    Lunch: Ham salad roll
    Dinner: Egg & Chips

    Hugs to all.

    Hello

Hugs to all who can't sleep/have had bad nights

I only got 4 hours last night, as my friend took me out to cheer me up, after a very bad day yesterday

I could believe it a bag of popcorn, kids sized popcorn and 2 drinks cost £9.40 at the cinema:eek: Plus £12.20 for the tickets:eek: But I got to see the lovely Mr Depp so I was happy

My cars in the garage today - it needs a new starter motor, dreading that cost coming in. Told the mechanic months ago that's what it needed, but he "couldn't find anything wrong" so now the problem's worse, it'll no doubt cost more:mad:

    Hugs again all round

SIL coming to do cleaning tomorrow as the builder is still here today.

    Morning everyone
I had a quick read of the last of yesterday's posts before I went to bed last night but was too tired to reply.
Doddsy Do you have an Occupational Health department where you work? If so, I'd ask to go & see someone & see what they say. The other thing you could think about is going to see your GP & discussing it with them. It's difficult for you but if there's no medical reason for you to work part time & the company have a policy of not employing managers part time (my company have) you might just have to look at what your options are. Someone suggested part time at a lower grade, maybe if you like the company & can afford to, that might be a good choice?I'm surprised they've dropped this decision on you all of a sudden. I would have expected that they'd have made it clear they would review the situation on a regular basis & discussed it with you.
Snowy So sorry you had a rotten day yesterday. Have you been taking everyone's advice & getting out for some exercise? :naughty: I hope things improve for you today.
PPYour bathroom sounds fabulous. I hope you're going to post piccies when it's done? I'm having my bathroom done soon (just waiting for a compensation chq from an accident 18 months ago) including having the bath taken out & a double shower cubicle installed so I'm VERY interested. I hope the hospital appt. goes OK for you. Enjoy your trip to Starbucks, I'm glad you complained about their poor accessibility. It's only if enough people complain loudly enough these arrogant company's may change their policies.
Must go - I have a leave for work in 6 minutes & am still eating my muesli.
