  • Well I ended up doing 'stuff', no Colin Firth for me today:j

I have made 3 french sticks, (with granary flour added), and with the aid of two clamps, an old 1lb loaf tin and a piece of wood, I have made 12 paper 'logs' and they have now found some nice homes to dry in. I used the residual heat of the oven, after baking the bread, to start them off, and now they are in the top oven to catch the heat every time the lower oven is on.
My next door neighbour is donating her old papers in exchange for some logs now and again:D I made this mornings with two thirds of an old yellow pages!
Oh and it is great entertainment for a three year old, she really enjoyed mashing up the paper in the water:rotfl: Just got to clear up the mess she made:eek:

I am so tired now and could do with a good 40 winks but no time..................

Went home for lunch, tried to get DS out of his pit without success.

Took lamb chops out of the freezer for tonight with roast potatoes and veg. Thank goodness I have started to get back into the swing of things I'd become so lazy.:o

Please add me to the Colin Firth fan club, he's gorgeous. Iread that Orlando Bloom had finally split with his long term GF must tell DD there's hope for her yet. She told me she'd had a message on her office voicemail from Leslie Phillips, it's a good job he wasn't there in person, she is beautiful.:D

Will try to do quick house blessing tonight before it descends into chaos again.

Shez, if I were you I'd write a strong complaint to CArphone Warehouse and ask for a refund for the past few months.

  • Picked DS up from school today. He has been back at school for four days. Bear this in mind when I tell the rest. He got into the car wearing a decidedly tatty blazer. I looked at it and asked him what on earth had happened to it. "This isn't my blazer" he replies. Story is, he was sitting on the ground at lunchtime with his friends, wearing his new £36 (OMG! ) blazer. Tried to stand up but couldn't. Found that someone was standing on the tail of blazer and it ripped from the vent up to the shoulder. Total write-off.

In all fairness to the school, they did say that when I replace the blazer I should hand the receipt to them together with the torn blazer. They will pay for the new blazer, repair the torn one (a home eccy test perhaps??) and keep it as a spare.

Still, it took me a wee while to calm down. DS said "It's only a blazer, Mum. Don't stress it!". He is right, of course. I just had to let steam off though.

OMG annie I would be spitting bricks! At least the school are being good about it though. DS's school would just have said he shouldn't be sitting on the ground :(

well my two bosses came to 'see' me (they never come both together) Since my lung tumour last year I have been on a 4 day week. They came today to say that now I am fully recovered they want me full time again:cry: The talk was 'we do not employ part time managers'

I don't know what to do, but the way it was put I don't think I have much choice. And full time is 5 1/2 day a week - when will I get any os in???

sorry to moan but I feel like crying right now.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
