LOL, shez what are you on this morning and can I have some?

All boxes now unpacked except for 4 which belong to DD and DS and they can unpack them in their rooms later. I now have to work out where I am going to put 84 more cookery books as the windowsill is full with all the ones I've bought since I put this stuff into storage. p.s. I seem to have two copies of the Victory Cookbook.

DH is going to be very upset though as all the boxes have been done now and I still haven't found his watch that he lost in the move. It was a really expensive one and was the first one he'd ever bought for himself. He only had it 6 months before it went missing amongst the storing away of things.

penpen - the film is a bit pants really but its ok if you just want to sit with a cuppa and not have anything to taxing on the brain! IYKWIM?

I saw it on a plane 3 years ago, and it really is a 'no brainer' film, but watchable (more for CF than anything else!!!!) I think they are showing it on sky movies at the moment, if you have them, so could watch out for when its on!!!!

  • Hello peeps and hugs to all. Had a huge raft of things to do to day (carrying on from yesterday) but my headache is back and it's in the same place as my brain bruising (it's along story but involves a 7ft ikea bookcase and my head) so I have just cleaned the window in the office (argh, the light!!!) and put DH's now niff-free football shirt to air in the open bathroom window. I will sort out my avon deliveries for tomorrow and sort out the damsons in the fridge as well ready for jam making/stewing. I will make my blackberry jam this p.m. as well so that freezer space is freed up for the apples that are still sat on the tree. Pizza tonight for dinner and DH went and did the shopping early this morning before he went to work (he's got a contract doing some work of the type he's trained for at the moment), so I shall put my feet up later this p.m. I think as if I am going back to work next week I don't want to go back still having headaches.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Aha! (No!!!!! not the pop group MrsMH :D ). Strawberries are low in pectin (the natural gelling agent in fruit) so strawberry jam can be very difficult to set, especially if the fruit are damp or very ripe.

For next time: try to make sure your strawberries are underripe (I go to PYO and include some greenish ones - they absorb the juice, and are red when they're cooked). Lemon juice helps - does your recipe have that? I'' let you have mine, if you like. It's not foolproof, but French strawberry jam is "soft set" so that's what I often have. :D

    Penny. x

My recipe was 2lbs strawberries, 2 cups sugar & I used 1/4 cup lemon juice. It said 1/8th but I threw the last bit in for good luck. :D My fruit was red and lush & lovely and sweet. I mashed them up first. I probably could have used less sugar. Maybe because the fruit was naturally sweet.

    Shez Your repeating yourself. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

sorry about that earlier post guys - for some reason comp was playing up!

Yes I saw him in the dark ages before electric light!:rotfl: at wembly arena. He still looks the same doesnt he?

Right have been down to carphone warehouse and asked them to see if they can sort it out - turns out the original sales guy has only signed us up for 3 month phone contract:confused: not the 18 month with free broadband!
Dont know why they couldnt have told me that when i phoned the broadband sales, who said they would connect me by 9 sept and havent!
anyway, my so-called contract ends 12 sept - so i can either leave them or he could sign me up for 18 month as from now and would put the broadband order on properly???? so got to decide what to do now?? any offers??:o

oh and just popped in to waitrose who happen to have some wine tasters out so had a couple of glasses to hopefully make the day go less stressful!:D
(moggins - am trying to sound jovial, hate posting rants!)

question: can you eat ciabatta rolls from bought or do you "have" to put them in oven? I bought some in m&s yesterday, taste fine straight from packet but then noticed instructions!

catowen - yes abit pants isnt it - but nanny mcphee is good! I dont care really i just look at CF!!!;) :D;)

god just made a cuppa YUK but they put this horrible hot water machine out instead of a kettle - its just not the same as properly boiled is it!
