Thanks, Shez. DH is off on a trip around the far east soon, coinciding with DS at Scout camp, so will get it and watch with DD one evening.

    Morning all

I actually slept like a log last night for the first time in days so I feel so much better today.

Allt hose who can't sleep have you tried listening to tlaking tapes? I have a walkman by the bed and plug in one ear if I can't drift off. It sounds as if I'm as mad as a hatter but I find that if I'm worried about work then I lie there going over things in my mind and can't switch off. By listening to a story I concentrate on that and drift off. You can get the tapes from most libraries. Oh and I don't get too tangled in the earphone cord!

Made bread last night and the sausage casserole was lovely.

Even managed for OH and I to ride the horses so I feel like I've done some exercise.

Hugs to all that need them.

    Morning all!

Penny - Sorry to hear about your pain and hope you can catch up on your sleep.

Snowyowl & alb - Its horrible when you lack sleep and the more you worry about it the less you sleep! I keep waking up in the early hours wanting the loo and then find it hard to get back to sleep (especially this morning because Ive got a stinking headache!)

Aussielass - Hope you get your jam sorted. Don't know anything about jam making to help though.

My daughter went to college a lot happier this morning so I hope she's going to settle in a bit now.

We are going to have a look at some Pug puppy's tonight with a view to putting a deposit on one. Wish we could afford both because they have a really good pedigree and look gorgeous in their pictures! We want to show whichever one we pick so I hope we make the right decision. Its nearly a two hour drive to where they are but its worth it to get the right dog.

B: Toast made with HM cinnamon bread
L: HM tomato soup & Baked potato & salad
    D: Pasta with HM sauce

Hugs to everyone else who is feeling knackered and stressed. Ive got a pile of ironing and need to polish and hoover bedrooms as well as making tomato soup and taking Puglet for a walk.

    Morning and hugs to all!

Busy Busy day at work today, and for some reason two of the senior bosses are coming to 'see' me at 2pm. Don't know why, they are either going to promote or sack me:confused::confused:

My house looking like a tip atm. must tackle it later.

Hope you all have a good day

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Aussie lass - I don't know whether it can be reboiled, you're asking a complete novice here if you were asking me!! If it doesn't work perhaps it'll make a nice sauce for ice cream? Not the same I know. Perhaps ask on another jam thread or start your own? (assuming you haven't already!)
Pen Pen 'cwtch' is a welsh term for 'cuddle' - it's a far cosier cuddle than anyone else has :D It's pronounced as it's spelt c-w-t-ch.
Moggins - I'm not suprised you can't get up! Your body is probably gratefull that you've slowed down at last! Shame about DD, hope things start to improve for her soon.

Yesterdays wash is airing on the line, one of todays is also there drying, and another is in the WM.
The weather is absolutely perfect here today. Bright and sunny, with a 'get to it' nip in the air. I really wish the boys were here as I'd like to put up the remainder of the fence (no, I still haven't finished, lol). IT's def a two person job - and I want to do it while the nasty neighbours are out, which for once they are.
Never mind, for now I'm going to do 10 mins in the kitchen to get it back in shape, then do my bedroom, followed by bathrooms and finished with cutting my lavender. I'll leave the cutting back until I've got some fresh compost and rooting powder as I need to take lots of cuttings this year as I fear it'll be woody soon.
Right, off to move toms to a sunny spot before I crack on with some more flying.
    Love to all,

    Hi everyone,

Not as many posts as yesterday thank goodness.

Thinking of all of you who have troubles at the moment.

Was nearly late for work, DS had finally cleared his bedroom floor and done two loads of washing last night. I knew if I didn't hang them out to dry he wouldn't do them and I didn't want them to go smelly so I did them myself. Will have to go home for lunch because I then didn't have time to make my sandwich.

Then had an odd phone call from someone who said they were from NISCC and they had detected a hacker had put a page on our w**k website. I was a bit dubious but the info he gave does seem genuine and I passed it all on to our webhosts so hopefully it'll all be ok.

Got my pasta maker, but no instuctions. Sister was no help - suggested getting a book from the library, but I have a tiny local library (she lives in the centre of a big city). So will be off to search for a recipe (there's a recent thread here) but if anyone has any tried and tested recipes, I'd be very grateful.

Here is the basic recipe for my pasta machine:

    Makes 1lb pasta

    6 oz (180g) unbleached flour
    2 extra large eggs

Place flour on a smooth surface, such as worktop and form a deep well in the middle. Break eggs into this well and lightly scramble the eggs with a fork, and start to incorporate the flour into the eggs. Keep doing this until it is all mixed in and then knead the dough by continually folding it in half and pressing it flat with the heel of your hand. Do this until the dough is smooth and silky. If the dough is too wet and sticky, dust with flour and if it is too dry sprinkle with water. Put dough in a bowl, cover and leave for an hour. It is now ready to use.

    Hope this helps!
