I bought Paul McKennas "I can make you thin" book with CD from a charity It says to sit (or lay) back and relax, close your eyes and listen. I'm convinced I fell asleep
maybe you should get a copy of this snowyowl?
seriously, would be interested to know how you get on with this nicki, keep us informed.0 -
Loubee - me too! I remember getting to meet Philip Schofield at the Radio One Roadshow back in 198-mumblemumble!
Bargain Rzl - and everyone else - thanks for the kind thoughts! I guess I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment. I think I need to get a grip - I've nearly finished my PhD and have a new job starting which will pay me much better, but it's been a long old slog getting here. I'm also starting to feel I deserve a treat for finishing - which is absurd I know - and have started getting carried away looking at the Boden website. So far I have resisted buying anything but I fear it will only be a matter of time:o Although instead of demanding to go out for a celebratory meal once I've finished writing up we've decided that a nice evening in would be better - DH is going to cook me a nice chilli and I'll make a cheesecake for after. It doesn't help that DH is run ragged at the moment - his work has been so busy lately and he's spent every spare moment fixing the gearbox on his motorbike. It will save lots of money compared to paying a garage to do it but it's just left him so tired.
Gosh that turned into a bit of a ramble! Good luck for everyone starting school today - it's almost made me broody! :rotfl:0 -
I remember when i submitted my thesis, BF cooked me a nice dinner as well. And after my viva. Everyone was trying to take me down the pub, but i was so tired i went home and had dinner on the sofa with a Harry Potter DVD!
you do deserve a wee treat though-it's a long slog as you say. Good luck with the final push

Shez wrote:penpen - what do u mean taking the trees to freecycle? dont they pick up? or are you doing a swap with pasta maker? let me know what its like, I fancy getting on but wonder if it will be just another gadget?:o
my friend was a mad BCR fan with all the gear!!! I bet you still have yr scarf and socks????;)
Hi, Shez! I live in a pretty rural area, so the trees are going to someone who lives 40 miles away. Coincidentally, she had a pasta maker that I asked for, so we're meeting in between to swap. I get the better deal, as I'm doing an advice session at the location where we're meeting, so I get my travel expenses paid. I've been offered 3 pasta makers btw. I think people buy/are given them, and never use, which is why I don't want to spend good money. My sister has one, so I have used hers, so know what I'm getting into.
I had none of the gear  My parents were not at all understanding of teenagers.

sorry to hear your sad news Loubee (hugs)
bargainrzl - Are you standing in the Pit area at the proms? I shall look out for you!0 -
I am a 1973 model as well, although my OH is 1963 which always makes me feel better! I was a bit sad and into Queen, although I did go and see Duran Duran at Nottingham a few years ago. Suprisingly very good.
I am on a ten minute break, top floors are done and I have cleared out yet more toys. Five minutes on freecycle and I am back to cleaning....'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

It says to sit (or lay) back and relax, close your eyes and listen. I'm convinced I fell asleep as I woke up suddenly when the postman came and the CD has finished
I have a Paul McKenna CD too, You Can Change Your Life (I'm pretty happy with my life really but I got it from readitswapit so I thought that I'd give it a try) I've yet to hear it all the way through though, I'm always asleep within 10 minutes of it starting.
I put headphones on to shut out extraneous noise and the first time I used it I woke up to see the cat sat on the arm of my chair 3 inches from my nose with a very puzzled look on her face :rotfl:
My lucky DD has been given a photo pass for the Robbie Williams concert on Friday so she is deeeelighted - she'll get to rub shoulders with the pro photographers at the front of the stage, a great start to her photography career0 -
BTW Shez, love the Avatar. I was watching a rubbish film with him in a few weeks ago where he puts on some leather motorcycle pants. Never been that bothered about him before but he really does have a rather fine bottom. My OH was not amused at the time

So sorry to hear about your great auntie Loubee - but as you said a bit of a relief if she was suffering from dementia. MIL has alzeimers, still quite early stages though.
niki - you could pass on your CD to those of us suffering from lack of sleep!
tootles - don't mind a bit of Cliff Richard, saw him in concert with my mum - very good I'm ashamed to say!!
