    Morning everyone:D

Just had coffee and quick read to see what yr all up to today?

I too remember David Cassidy, Donny - Oh my god he still looks gorgeous doesnt he??? I wasnt a fan then but I am now;)

Well I have something more interesting to put today other than DW, hoovering etc.........

My first job was at a record company which is my only interesting fact in life!
They had Spandau Ballet, and remember Gary Kemp jotting down his lyrics to their first song and telling me how they were gonna be big! (they all said that then) and Tony Hadley said to me one day "have you got a copy of our new single" I said no, and he opened the boxes in the lift and gave me a copy (still only had the white label on it!) I should have got him to sign it before they came huge shouldnt i? when they were No.1 we were all treated to champagne in the boardroom!

Have a few other happy memories......:D

penpen - what do u mean taking the trees to freecycle? dont they pick up? or are you doing a swap with pasta maker? let me know what its like, I fancy getting on but wonder if it will be just another gadget?:o
my friend was a mad BCR fan with all the gear!!! I bet you still have yr scarf and socks????;)

When I was over there the lead singer was playing solo in the clubs.

I saw Les McKewan (sp?) recently on the local East Anglia news.... charged with supplying drugs.
He'd put on a bit of weight (but then so have I since the 1970's!!!!)

    Morning all :hello:

I've not read the thread through again as my eyes won't focus properly and I've just seen the time. I bought Paul McKennas "I can make you thin" book with CD from a charity shop while we were away (That and a Good Housekeeping "CHeap Eat" for 80p and they're BRAND NEW!) and I put it on to listen to. It says to sit (or lay) back and relax, close your eyes and listen. I'm convinced I fell asleep as I woke up suddenly when the postman came and the CD has finished :o Here's hoping it will do me some good and I won't end up barking like a dog whenever I ask someone the time or something equally embarrasing :rotfl:

Yesterday I managed to get the upstairs hoovered/dusted & cleaned. :j Today I should be doing the stairs and downstairs but like I said I've just fallen asleep to Paul McKenna :rotfl:I have some minor sewing projects to do (stitch the already ironed on labels into DD's other shirts ;) and sew a couple of buttons back on my winter coat) and other than some ebaying, once I've cleaned downstairs I should be caught up :j:j Now I really need to go and check my hotmail, bank and then get on with the housework - minus my CD...now where is my houseworks CD

    Morning All,

You're a chatty lot today! I've not posted properly for a while but things seem to be getting back on track now so hopefully I'm back.

DDs first full day at school in reception today. She was 4 in april and is having a day from 8.50 till 3.30! Shes gonna be knackered! I've made her packed lunch, plain but she eats it so I'm happy. A peanut butter sandwich on whomemeal bread, a peeled and chopped apple, fromage frais, cashew nuts and squash. I am hoping that as the term wears on she will see that other children are a bit more adventurous with their food and I will maybe try some new things.

Just had a builder in for a quote and hes come in at less than half what another guy quoted so I've hired him! He seems very competant and is an older man so I think that makes him more likely to be reliable - well I hope anyway.

Today is a lovely day so I've got the WM on but STUPIDLY have put in a white wash that somehow a disposable nappy was mixed with. So now I have awful little gell balls in with the clothes, I have a feeling a few more rinses will be needed.

I do need to mow the lawn today, have finally got the petrol so ought o make a start. I will take ages as its not been cut in 4 weeks and looks more like a hay paddock than a garden.

Big hugs to all that need 'em, I'm off for coffee (bit too much wine last night) and a browse.

    Allison.

    PS - 22nd November 1979 for me.
    WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbs
    Weight today = 17st 6.5lbs
    Loss to date 32.5lbs!!!

Morning all.........(((((HUGS)))))))) to those who need them.....

For me it was the King Singers, The Spinners and Cliff Richard......shows my age doesn't it, I bet most of you have never heard of the first two!!!!

Only one horse to feed, Charlie has gone to the dentist to have his teeth looked at, should be back either today or tomorrow..... another batch of apples in the aga, two large bagfulls in the freezer with some blackberries to take home, the apples are still raining down as it is quite windy.

Went out this morning to find sheep in the front garden, just about to eat the front flower beds. The house is an old Rectory next door to the churchyard, there is a gate in the wall where the Recor could walk through into the Churchyard, it had blown open during the night and the sheep had just found it, They are safely back in the yard now!!!!!! sheep herding is not one of my favourite occuptions......

Grand children over for supper tonight, spag bol and oranges in Lime jelly on the menu......if its warm enough will take the cover off the swimming pool for them to swim before they have their supper.....

Right now going to finish cleaning the kitchen, will leave the floor until after the children have gone home, we are going home tomorrow sometime after lunch I think.......so will be on the net from home tomorrow night.

Apart from Sunday have slept quite well, I wish we could re-locate to the country, but if wishes were horses beggars would ride as my Grandmother used to say.............plans afoot though to be able to spend more time 'away from home'

Have a good day....... all the best at the hospital PP, glad that your daughter had a good day and has started to make new contacts, I am sure she will be fine............to all the rest of you whose not so little and little ones are starting school, you ARE allowed to shed tears!!!!!!!! I did even when my youngest left school and went to work in London......a big jump for someone who was always rather timid......she survived though and it gave her the strength to cope with what life threw at her later.

  • Good morning to everyone and hugs to all those in need of a wee cuddle. Myfirst crush was Philip Scofield (got a free poster in Bunty!). I was then *cringe* into New Kids on the Block :)

My new flatmates seem to be settling in, and show no signs of being a bit "odd" (have had some bad experiences with flat sharing).

Had some sad news this morning-my great auntie died yesterday. She had been suffering from dementia for the last 5 or so years, so it is a bit of a relief but still very sad, esp. for my Grandma-Aunty was her little sister and it's a lot for a lady in her 80s to deal with and sort out. The funeral is next week, and will be conducted by my second cousin who is a vicar.
