  • quick one from me as i don't have to make any sarnies this morning. I pulled a portion of soup out of the freezer which should defrost in time for lunch. DH is just carving off a couple of slices of HM bread to go with it.

i guess another day of paperwork for me. I might listen to a CD via the laptop as the 2 classrooms either side of my corner will be busy all day.

i need to pop to my mums shop and get some cleaner for the laminate floor to keep it all shiny. I also need a mop and bucket from somewhere. I also might have to pop to meadowhall after work as it is DH's birthday on friday. I had ordered some pressies from amazon for him and my brother, and paid £9 for delivery last sat, but they couldn't deliver the goods till the 15th. That is one company that has gone well downhill.

Best go as i still need to get dressed and i just eyed up the time.

    See you later, Michelle xx
  • Hi, Kaz! Got my Ascott supplies catalogue (everything you need for your smallholding) yesterday. Very exciting! Several things that we need for our chooks, but I now have dreams of beekeeping! :D

The course sounds great - would like to see some recipes. Glad you decided to keep on with it. :T

Thriftlady and Jockett, hope your children enjoy high school. Thriftlady, your travel arrangement sounds perfect.

PP, an 8:10 start - that's early  Hope she enjoys today, too.

    Morning all!

Snowy Owl - your cake sounds lush! I love that kind of fruty smell! I've learnt by experience not to make Christmas cake now as a lot of my relatives give us large chunks of cakes and if I make my own as well we're eating the stuff until Easter!

Ros_V - I love the X-factor too but my favourite bit is the beginning where all the wannabes are embarrasing themselves! They do have more guts than I do though to go live on TV!

Money is going to be extra tight at the moment. We decided to head home to NI to see my folks before Christmas as I haven't seen them since February and Easyjet had a sale on, so both of us got back for just over £100. It's a lot of money but i've been missing them a bit and my folks have said they're missing me too, so I guess this is just one of those times when you have to spend and bite the bullet! Grocer shopping (fingers crossed) is looking like it's going to come in under budget which will help.

    Have a good day everyone!
  • Morning everyone.

Up early for me as the kittens and the 3 YO all decided to pounce on me this morning. The Kittens are now running riot arund the house, they are so funny to watch. Have booked them in for their second jabs next week, so soon they will be able to go outside. I can't wait as I can't abide litter trays, and I have nowhere to put theirs except the kitchen:mad:

Have already made the beds and wiped round the bathroom. Need to unload the Dishy, and make some chelsea buns......friends over for coffee later.

Hope all those starting at school today have a great time, and the nervous mums calm down!

    Breakfast: sugar puffs
    lunch: toasted ham sandwiches
    dinner: bacon & pesto pasta.

    see you later

Morning all, I'm up early and you lot are still on page 2!

Snowy enjoy your time off, I'm pretty sure everyone is right about only being signed off for 2 weeks at first.

Kaz, have the boys settled back in at school?

PP It's so good (and amazing) when you get a decent builder.

I have to drop DD at school (not overslept this morning) and then go back into town to pay Dad's car insurance for him. I'm going to take the car so I can get some storage things for DS's room. He's being really good about tidying and sorting it out since we promised him the old microwave.

Then I'm going to see if there are any blackberries left as I haven't had the chance to get any yet.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Just a quick post this morning, as I'm not even dressed yet and it's DD'd first day back at school

Penny Pincher - Just wanted to say how gorgeous your little girl is - you'll have problems with the boys later on ;)

Packed lunches were made last night - bagels all round :D Dinner will be pavarotti pasta (DD's favourite)

Just going to chuck a load in the WM and get dressed!

    Bye for now

  • Morning all :D

Not much from me today, feeling a little down and for some reason I'm really bored with my life. I know I'll be fine later on and it's probally just a phase but it ment I got nothing done last night apart from moping around the house

Anyway, planning to sort out the last of the holiday stuff today and then go home and tackle the spare room which appears to have turned into a dumping ground!

Take or leave the :grouphug: as needed.

Just a quick one for me. I'm sitting here trying to gather the energy to put 1 months shopping away. It's been a big day but we've got everything done.

To those who have school chidren off to school, enjoy the day. ;) Our start of the school year is in January after 7 weeks off. By that time we were all ready for that event. Being the hottest part of the year the heat made short fuses as well.

Will pop back later. Have a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning everyone!!

Last day at w**k for me until next Wed. Will be picking up my Big Bro and his DW from the airport tonight. They will stay with us for a week. Have lots of hm stuff in the freezer so will be able to spend lots of time with them. We will be trailing around N YOrks looking up family tree stuff. He seems to be quite an expert and has loads of information already. He then plans to write it all up as a 'family heirloom' to give to future generations, so they can add to to it.

House is clean and ready, but will not get done for 7 days!!! Talk about feast and famine!!

Have some damsons and crab apples to pick though so looking forward to presenting them with jars of jelly to take back (together with Christmas cake I made for him!!)

    See you later,
