    Hi everyone,

hope that all the kids back at school today had a good time - PP your daughter looks great :D Her uniform is a lovely colour. I always liked our school uniform - royal blue and navy blue with hints of silver, or a red tie in senior school. It was the full formal uniform too - skirt, shirt, tie, jumper, blazer etc.

(and if we're still looking at ages I'm a 1978 baby - b'day not too far off - don't usually feel old until I see the students coming into work and then I really can feel bad!)

    Hugs to all!

    Err, Peem -
DS managed to get to school for first day. He doesn't think he'll bother going back. Imentioned that it was against the law not to go to school and he's been asking all sorts of questions about
Not strictly completely true, although as he is registered with a school he has to go. He may well be pleased to know that if he doesn't it won't be him that goes to jail, but mum!!!!
On the other hand, it is perfectly possible for him to be deregistered & taught at home & then there is no possibility of either of you going to jail. Of course, that's hard work for you, too! Cos then providing an education is down to you.
How do I know - well, we home educate! Now on our last year!!!!! 2 out of our 3 were home ed - first of those is now working as an engineer at a big company so just got number 2 son left! (DD stayed at school all the way!)

Have fun with them while they are young!!! Your DD sounds like a handful, too! :-)

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

I think I come third after Tootles & Twink. I was born in 1953 & will be 53 in a couple of weeks, lots of you are younger than my kids (1976 & 1979).
There are lots of advantages to getting older - cheaper car insurance, no worries about childcare, UMMMMMMMMM sorry I've run out.:rotfl:
  • Evening all! The site chucked me off early today and I was unable to get back on for hours!!!

I've been thinking about getting a slow cooker. I know I should really ask for advice on a seperate thread, but all I really want to know is would it save enough money to make it worthwhile? This will be my first winter of having an electric oven, and I'm usually at home all day so put my casseroles etc into the oven (previously gas) where they would sit for 4 or more hours! But with the new electric oven I'm a bit frightened of the bills, and so am considering this purchase!! I need one big enough for 4 good portions, DH and DS3 and DS4 have enormous appetites ( and all resemble lamp-posts!!!) but don't have a lot of freezer space so spare is not an issue. If you would recommend one what size do I need?

I finally used my packet of bread-mix yesterday, because I ran out of bread and couldn't face the trip up to Sainsbury late at night. It wasn't bad, surprisingly!!! In fact I'm considering making some from scratch!! All sit down please, this will be made, BY HAND ( no BM). At this rate you'll definitely have to re-instate my OS badge!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

As for ages, dream on! I forget how ancient I am (that truly is a sign of old age) and I'm not going through that shock process again for anyone!! Suffice to say I'm as old as my tongue, and a little bit older than my teeth!!!!
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
