Hi
Just seen a thread on DFW about average age of posters and I wondered if OSers are older or younger .I'll start - 40 or should that be 39 +10 -
Physically? 21
Mentally? Roughly 820 -
30-although am not totally OS,but trying!!!!Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
35.
I'm wondering if I look old, I bought a new bike the other day. In the first shop, the man (he looked about 45) showed me a 'granny' bike and asked if I'd like a basket  (And he wouldn't discount either)
Top marks to the next shop, the assistant (he looked about 20) took one look at me and said "Hmmmm, you don't look like you want a girly bike. How about one of these?" Then he showed me some jump bikesHe gave me £125 worth of bike and bits (no I didn't buy a jump bike LOL) for £95 :T
My bus pass was £9 per week, so in 9 and a half weeks the bike is technically free. Actually it's free twice cos my mum paid for it :rotfl:
Ooooh I've gone WAY off topic, sorry. I'll go nowBulletproof0 -
Hi Patchwork cat,
I have merged your thread with the daily thread as our ages are already being discussed here. I think I'm one of the older ones....born in 1963 (a good vintage penny:D ) which makes me 43.

I'm a 74 gal:D
DD had a fabulous day today and has made loads of new friends already. She has been given tons of stuff to read and for us to sign:eek:  The only thing im not too sure on is the free school dinner token. DD has to go to an office at her breaktime and collect it every day. I think this is a little unfair as she looses part of her break...or am I just been picky
Bathroom looks brilliant and 2 walls have been tiled already. DD & OH have been down to Inlaws for a shower and OH will be helping me later to wash me hair over the kitchen sink:rolleyes:
Am so shatterd today but am so relieved that her first day went well.
Hugs to everyone.

I always get a false idea about how old people are too. Some people seem so much younger/older than they actually are! I am a 1964 baby, which is the year disco was born according to a birthday card I received a couple of years ago!SnowyOwl wrote:I've been to the doc's - the locum was v.young, obviously just recently qualified, and not that confident about giving a sick note. She has given me a note for two weeks starting yesterday, so that gives me a bit of breathing space to get my act together, so I'll see how it goes.
If I remember rightly, I don't think they can give you more than 2 weeks to start off with. Its the usual thing. I can remember going back again and again to get another 2 weeks and then they upped it to 4 and then more.0 -
hi beachbeth,
yes u r right, they normally only give 2 weeks at first, then up it. when i had shingles in my ear this is what the gp did!!!'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'
