Oh, found the myspace I think!! Are they heavy rocky types??!

Yes they are rocky types - not too heavy because I like their stuff and I don't go for the heavy stuff. DD's boyf is Rik the guitarist. They had an album out last year called "Turn against this Land". If you can't find them I'll pm you the link

    Hello everyone!:hello:

haven't time to more than skim the posts today and DH now needs to use pc, but just wanted to pop on quick and say -

PP YOUR DD LOOKS FANTASTIC! You look such a lovely family. Hope she enjoyed her first day - I'm sure she did.

Very best wishes to everyone who's started a new school today or going to school for the first time - and to their proud mums of course!

Will try to pop back on later!

*shamefully pops head round the door*

Have done absolutely nothing OS today!!!

I woke up feeling like absolute cr*p but still decided to get up and tackle my To-Do list which comprised of about a gazillion household chores that I just haven't had time to do lately! I had a good go at doing the hob top with bicarb and vinegar paste and managed to get most of the rubbish off but some just wouldn't shift so I shouted at it (which did loads of good as you can imagine!!!) and then jumped in the car to the supermarket where I bought some very non-OS stainless steel cleaner which still didn't work!! Then the washing machine finished and instead of being good and hanging it up on my airer, I just stuck it straight into the TD, as I did with the next load!!!

Then I fell over the sofa and stubbed my toe and just burst into tears and decided that I'd had enough cleaning up after OH and I got out my Foot Spa, my face mask and my Friends DVD's and have only just moved now after almost 4 hours!!!!! :o

Luckily I had cleaned the living room last night and as you can see it was an oasis of calm

    living_room_04092006.jpg

In fact the only reason I moved was because I could hear lots of swearing outside and when i looked out of the window there was a man trying to climb through the window of one of the ground floor flats but couldn't lift his legs high enough!! The window frame was on the floor next to him and there were two men carring a sofa over the fence towards him but obviously because they had this big heavy sofa couldn't help him and he was getting really embarrassed because he was kind of dangling with his head inside and his legs outside!!!! :rotfl: I presume that somebody is moving in downstairs and they couldn't negotiate the sofa through the hallway... If not, I have just met the worst burglars ever!!!!

School run time now... hope everyone who had babies starting new schools didn't feel too lonely or scared today!!

  • Purple Princess - I live in Lancashire. Thanks for your concern. I think I'm just having one of those days today. Normally I am very practical and I know that tomorrow I will probably come up with a solution. Just needed a moan as I was feeling sorry for myself. That's the wonderful thing about this site. Everyone is so helpful.

As for the age thing, I don't think I want to get into that either! I think I'm one of the oldest one on this forum. Will admit to being born in the Year of the Dragon though. :D

Just booked DS and DD their annual MOTs. Eye tests on Friday, asthma clinic next week then DS has orthodontist following week. Just waiting for the dentist reminder to come in and I have the full set! :)

    Afternoon all!!

Not got as much done as i wanted to whilst kids were at school, but car is now mended! And have had HM pizzas and chips for tea, done 3 loads of washing, which iv managed to get dry now its stopped raining.

Kids have had a great first day back, and they all got changed as soon as they got in, THATS A FIRST!!!!

Although im a little mad, headteacher has pointed out to the kids that navy bottoms shouldnt be worn! All my kids went to school in new navy bottoms, uniform isnt compulsery at the school and they have always worn navy tracksuit bottoms with school sweatshirts/jumpers, and they all looked very smart this morning!!! And what makes it worst is i am a parent governor and have questioned uniform before! Im sure the head hates me because i dont go along with the other parent gov`s and just agree to everything!!
Thought that was the whole point of having parent govs so we can put accross parents views, many of whom send their kids in smart navy bottoms.

Sorry moan over, could`t moan to DH as he went out to work as we got in from school, cant wait for him to start his new job next monday, he will be working mon-fri 8-5 normal hours, unlike the split shift he is doing at min 6am-8.30am then back 3.45pm-8pm, he never sees the kids or much of me for that matter.Roll on monday!!

    65 here :)

Where has the day gone to? I'm shattered and I haven't done anything much. Did get the new microwave though and have now lost a corner as I had a huge basket with all the crisps etc in it which can't go on top of the new one because of all the air vents.

Just read through the thread properly now...

PP - your DD looks fantastic and you have definately done everything right!! That hug she's giving you(?) shows just how confident she is and that she (quite rightly) thinks her mum is fab!!

Snowy - hope everything went OK for you at the docs

ageandjo - :grouphug: I have had friends in the same situation as your sister, and I found it tough leaving them for a night, it must be horrid for you to be so far away!!

purpleprincess - the living room is minimalist chic as we can't afford much furniture :rotfl: I think the lillies (a birthday present to me from OH) make it look very sophisticated!! If only I could get rid of all of his damned Xbox games (I have discovered that it was actually one of these that I fell over this morning which caused me to stub my toe  )
