1968 - although Jan unfortunately.
Actually ds1 had a fit the other day when I pointed out that dh and I both predated Neil Armstrong landing on the moon - and when he was younger he asked my mum if everything in life was in black and white when she was little:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Hi everyone!

Nowt much OS here altho' usual tidy up ,putting ironing away and general tidy up. Shall be having an evening off tonight and sewing. Bliss. OH is making us a veg and cheese bake for tea.
There we go not very thrilling today really I'm afraid!

Purple princess - you are younger than my dd:eek: . I hardly dare admit that I was born in the 50's (1958 to be precise).
I am now going to slink off into the undergrowth and hide.
Then again I'll only have to work for a few more years and DH and I will be living the high lifeon our final salary scheme pensions, feeling sorry for you youngsters who'll have to work until you're 90:D

Arghhh, house is a right mess! I think I need to go look at Fly Lady, it's getting me down now:o
I've been baking, had 5 brown, squishy bananas about to be composted, but thought I'd try and make use of them. Found a recipe on Waitrose's website for banana cake, so have followed that. Bit strange as it says to add 100ml of vegetable oil, to keep the cake moist, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out!:rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: DS2(aged 9) still thinks I can remeber the second world war ! mind you it could have something to do with my rationing fixation. My mum and mil who can remember it think I'm barking:rotfl:0 -

Hi all
I am very late in posting today as I couldn't get my broadband to connect. It does that any time we have rain here.
Ageandjo - Hope your sister can resolve the situation soon. She is lucky to have such a caring son.
PP - daughter looks lovely in her uniform. You are quite rightly proud of her.
Thanks to Moggins and all others who offered advice on the school run yesterday. Think it is probably best if I just keep my mouth shut and keep doing it. It is only for another 9 months so I think I can handle that. Will need to be more OS though to make up for the extra petrol. :rotfl:
I was quite optimistic when I woke up today. I fully intended to get lots done today (I don't work on Tuesdays - well, what I mean is that I don't get paid on Tuesdays - I do lots of housework and stuff) Seems every room I went into I discovered some kind of repair job that needed doing. Then my neighbour knocked on my door to point out that one of the tiles on my bay window roof had come loose and knocked the guttering loose. Being a single parent who is not on speaking terms atm with XDH, I don't know where to start. I don't have money to pay anyone to do these jobs, my family are over 200 miles away and I don't like to ask my friends' husbands as they all work long hours. There are a couple of them I can do myself but a few involve climbing ladders and I am NOT good with heights. Wish I could win the lottery. It would solve a lot of problems. Then again, I know I am not alone and my problems are minor compared to others.
Got to go, school run soon."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

DD is 23 born in February 83, DS is 20, born in June 86. DD lives and works in London now, in PR and I miss her a lot, although we speak almost every day and it's only 45 minutes on the train so we see each other quite often.
DS is at Uni in North Wales so we don't see much of him during termtime.
I used to regret not using my degree and having a career occasionally when I was younger but don't any more.0 -
