Oooops, I got a bit confused with the controls on the new microwave and instead of thawing them out I cooked them. Good thing was after a quick introduction to the grill to brown them off they tasted really nice.
I'm definitely going to have to practice a lot more with this thing. I did manage to pick up 3 really good microwave cookery books for £1.50 and also managed to see DD1's ex-boyfriend in the shop where he works and have sorted out a time to go and pick up the boxes he's been storing for me (one of which contains 70 odd cookbooks)Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Finally got around to cleaning everything in the flat and then hung some shirts up in the french windows (with the doors open) to dry them. Went to sort something out in the bedroom for a bit and got distracted by the PC then when I went back through to the lounge it was filled with smoke  An empty factory down the road had set on fire and of course the wind is blowing in the direction of my flat so my house - and my clean clothes smell all smoky nowdammit - i knew i should have just thrown it all in the TD

Evening all
PP - lovely photos - she looks great...lovely to put a face to the name too.
I've had a busy one today - made 24 rolls, bunged some passatta and cheese in the mix and they turned out lovely. A shepherds pie style thing for tea, using left over beef stew from last night, topped with mashed potato mixed with steamed courgettes (steamed in my new freecycle steamer :j ) 24 Jam tarts and some choccy chip biscuits for lunch boxes. Topped that off with 4 loads of washing, a good tidy through the entire house and I even found time to read a few chapters of a book and do some crochet......and all because the internet was down!!!Amazing what I could achieve every day if I tried.
DD's back at school tomorrow - both really looking forward to it. DH has gone out for the evening so I'm going to sit back and get on with some more crocheting, making dd1 a single bed sized throw, got some really funky coloured wool at a boot fair on sunday so she's happy.
DLB - no all my friends are older too - I'm 33 and my closest friends are 39 and 49.
Hope everyones had a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I Haven't had time to read the whole thread yet - I got as far as your pictures PP & just wanted to say WOW. Your DD looks like a really smart young woman, she'll have no problem at all settling in to her new school I'm sure.
No wonder you're such a proud mum, she's a real credit to you & your DH (who's a bit of a hunk).

Evening all.
37 for me - I'm another '69.
DS managed to get to school for first day. He doesn't think he'll bother going back. Imentioned that it was against the law not to go to school and he's been asking all sorts of questions about prison - OMG what's he going to turn out like!
He's happy now - his new bed arrived today. It's been well bounced on. Unfortunately I've had to put my old Sarah Kaye duvet cover on as his new one hasn't arrived yet (well, if I hadn't told you how old I was that would have dated me) (Rip off version of Hollie Hobbie for you young uns - who's Hollie Hobbie I hear you ask?)
DD decided she likes to spray Dettol Surface Cleaner into her mouth - cue long phone call to NHS direct. All I did was go to put the crayons through in the front room!
So on the mothering front I now have a confused, jailbird son and a poisoned daughter - well done Peem.
Also - she always poos in the bath, anyone got any recommendations on that one? It's costing a fortune in Dettol to disinfect bath and all toys every time.
DH should be home soon - no one tells you about accountants and month end meaning late night every first week of the month. Means I've had to miss my yoga class. pah.
PP the pics are lovely.
Hope everyone else has a good evening.
Off to have a bottle of wine and do some knitting. Got to go to London for work tomorrow - at least the kids will be safe when I'm 300 miles away."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0
