I've finally got DD's school tie
£2.50 for a tie (thought it was more) but I still need to get her a sweatshirt for the winter (about £8 I think) and I might get her a school pump-bag depending on how much they are. I got her a school reading folder last year. So that will be everything then except the official school PE kit but the way she grows and the state her shops-own one came back in July I'm not paying out for one just yet. I'll wait until she's in Juniors ... only 2 years away
Treated DD to a lunch from the bakers - jumbo sausage roll and creamy doughnut for her and a jumbo sausage roll (2 for £1 offer) and a caramel doughnut for me  also picked up a bag of 5 ring doughnuts for £1
for tomorrow. Have to remember OH don't I as I think he'll need some destressing this weekend even though he'll insist he's not stressed  You can just tell by how quickly he reacts to DD singing or "annoying" him, we both know that he can get that way when the teachers start on at him about why this software isn't installed and why that isn't done. He is improving, and now he has an assistant he's not as stressed as he used to getI think he even said he managed to get everything on his To-do list sorted the other day during inset, then the teachers came in and added to it throughout that day
Right, time for a cup of tea, catch up on another forum, update money and then I'll need to set too on the ironing and labelling _pale_ Thankfully it's a reasonably nice day here so the underwear is out on the line drying. Just wondering whether it would be worth keeping an eye out for the uniform stuff reduced and stocking up now on next years stuff :rotfl:
Where's that kettle.....:coffee:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hello and Afternoon Everyone!:D
Havent been on for a couple of days, been busy at home.
Still sorting out stuff I dont need tryingto get rid of it, then got carried away doing a fly lady thing! Cleaned all my windows with the old fashioned pink windolene cream, for some reason the vinegar/water solution leaves my windows abit streaky after a couple of daysbut the windolene is fab and sparkly! DHs recommendation too!
Then of course I had to wash curtains, then shampooed living room carpet yet again! and of course looking round have made a BIG list of things I want changing in the house to give it a lift! starting with DH doing some painting outside this weekend:rotfl:
Freecycler turned up and got rid of some bedding. Washed/cleaned the car.
Bought new duvets and covers for the kids in their new bunkbeds! CARS one for DS and Pink FairyThingy for DD (reduced in tesco £3.70!!!!)
After threatening to do it for ages - I have finally looked at how to sell some things this morning on ebay AT LAST!!!!!!
so will take pictures of them later when i get home and list them!!! DA DA!
:T :T Thing is where do you select where to put pick up only?? couldnt see that option?? any help??
Must be going back to work thats given me this spur on:rotfl:
Good luck to all the young OSers starting new schools next week - I'm sure you will all be fine and love it once you get going;)
Hugs to all those not feeling well and those attending funerals x
Hungry now so it must be time for lunch or chocolate!:EasterBun
have a good friday everyone!:wave:0 -
I've finished seeing my client now, and have a few minutes. I'm helping some volunteers with their work, before heading back to the office. Sun's out now, so will be a nice drive back. Lunch of banana sarnie and hot mug off coffee in the car, followed by the rest of last night's Minstrels. Shez, fancy sharing?
Ice, thanks for the fish! Saw Superman at 7:15, so thought it would be over by 9pm. The film was 2.5 hours  , which was at least an hour too long. Got home at 10:45, so was past it for something to eat.
Can we start a DD/DS starting big school support group? My DS starts high school on Tuesday. He's pretty elf sufficient, but his worries are tying his tie, and being "loved" by his big sister's friends.

Laugh all you want!! Self inflicted!! Bl00dy hell!!! Feeling a bit better nowAlthough funnily enough, didn't fancy my healthy lunch of cous cous and salad
so had to go to the bakery and get one of their yummy pizzas (ham and tomato), they are small and hand made and  so that's doing the trick!

I'm going to see Kylie too, in November when we're over in Australia. I'm really looking forward to it :j
Just been to Costco to buy OH's anniversary present - a weather station. He's been harping on about having one for years, so it'd better be good! Resisted the temptation to buy a fab red Betty Jackson shirt dress, but I don't know how long I can hold out for, it's lovely & I'd wear it loads - honest :whistle:0 -
My 17 year old just phoned to say she's done two weetabix cakes and tidied up - was there anything else she could do for me? She always manages to make me feel better!
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

Not having a good day, DH has been on the phone to say that there is a problem at work he cant fix (it technician in school). Hes very stressed about it which means that I'm in for a terrible weekend. He thinks he will get fired (always thinks this). It would happen just as the kids are due back at school, feel sick with the worry of whats hes going to be like, I'm supposed to be leaving DD with him on Sunday but wont be able to if he stressed, so that will means my sister will kick off. Sometimes I think he'd be better working in a factory or something with no responsibilty so at least he wouldnt get stressed.
Sorry for the moan always feel guilty when theres people with proper problemsSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Hi
I wondered if I'd blown my cover today. I had to go into our small town - to Tesco. Amongst other things I bought a Pukka pad (academic year planner), value microfibre cloths, value dried fruit (for the weetabix cakes of course) and some cheap stationery stuff for the Operation Christmas Child boxes.
Add to that the fact that it all came to £21.04, and I paid for it with 2 £10 vouchers, I thought - if any other OSers are in here, they'll have sussed me out straight away!0 -
Hi all
Big apology, am going to launch into a big rant all about myself... how selfish...
I'm having a totally horrible day. Yet again at work I have been sat at my desk in tears with the stress. Apparently I have an attitude problem (didn't know about that...a sign of stress perhaps??) and on top of that I am apparently not good at my job. I am finding it hard to hold it together now, and i really really do not want to go back again. (I'm at home on lunch break and enjoying the quiet). It has occurred to me that maybe I should just change jobs - something a lot less stressful - though the opportunities and choice around here is negligible as it's a very small town. Is working on a supermarket check out stressful - Sainsbury's is currently hiring so I think I'll go and get a form. I hate the back stabbing, blame culture, fobbing off and lack of management support where I am right now. My manager once told me not to relate my difficulties at work to training since that would make her look bad. So you can see, the lack of support is very much in my face. I feel like I've been singled out by a particular manager from another department and have sat through a number of confrontations now, and had my manager say things like "I showed you how to do that before, so what's the problem?". Nobody has ever, ever checked my work to see if I was picking things up correctly...but when I inevitably make an error they are on me like a ton of bricks. I hate it, I really do.
