    Morning all :)

Hugs to Miss PP, I hope the nerves go as soon as she starts school.

Queenie I have absolutely no idea. Probably pastry as I want to see if I can get rid of my food processor and that is really the only thing I use it for. I just keep admiring it as I walk past :D

Off to take the parents shopping soon if I can get DD to eat her breakfast, I may resort to turning off Milkshake soon if she doesn't get a move on. Busy day ahead and I want to start on tidying and cleaning the dining room tonight if I'm not too tired.

Hi, just a quickie this morning. Just made pineapple and banana pancakes for brekkie as a half term treat, followed by blueberry muffins - just like being in America! Bread has just finished in the BM.
Lunch (or dinner as we say) something made with last night's leftover chicken - might do some HM wraps.
Dinner (or tea as we say) possibly lamb tagine - will need to check I've got all the ingredients.
DH at work later after he's pulled a wall down, DD going swimming on her own for the first time,no work for me today so I might take DS to the local play barn this afternoon.
Hope you all have a good day, and I'll try to catch up later,

(((Ageandjo))), hope everything goes Ok for your sister, what a nasty situation, and so far from her family.
P-P ((hugs)) to your DD. I'm sure she'll be fine. I'll never forget my first day at school....but I won't go there!
The jams etc sound delicious Scuzz, my mouth is watering at the thought :)
hope the car gets through OK SOMO1
The chicken sounds delicious mrsbaggins! :T

The car is still preying on our minds....OH's cousin might be able to lend us the money to pay the garage bill, if not, I'll have to ask my dad. That's the worst thing about being on a DMP, you aren't allowed to have credit. Would come in sooooo handy right now (ok, you can all smack me later).

Have to go and pay the Council Tax today. Really makes my blood boil that our scrappy little flat is so high in the ratings    .

Anyway, moan over. Have a good day everyone and Hugs to anyone who needs one.

  • Not looking foward to today.

Its DH Grandma's funeral. My DH has been very lucky and got to the age of 30 and this is the 1st person who has die and he has never been to a funeral before.

We are driving down to his mums in a bit and helping with the bits for the wake afterwards.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all. I'm shattered so no hope of remembering who said what so :grouphug: to all :o I was sitting up until midnight last night listening to ghost stories on my own in our bedroom  I don't think the stories would have been so scary if I had been reading them (Tom Slemen is a local author with 20 books, and more on the way, about ghosts/murder/the supernatural around Liverpool, Wirral and Cheshire - anyone interested go to http://www.slemen.com/ ). I had to go to sleep with the radio on, snuggled right down in the bed with just my head out of the covers and my eyes tight shut :rotfl: I blame the story of a grey mist with glowing red eyes that could pass through windows and tried to drop a chest-of-drawers on someone

Before that I watched Anthea, while OH half watched it (he was doing work on his laptop and every now and then would look up and watch a bit. He'll be watching it properly with me soon...;)). I was in pleats when she used a pair of knickers as a scrunchy as OH started making sarcastic comments about how lovely I'd look with a pair of boxers around my hair and some I can't go into here :rotfl::o Did pick up a few ideas as usual though :D

Right, todays plan:confused: We need to go to school to pick up DD's tie if they've arrived  and I have a mountain of uniforms to iron. All DD's new uniform and OH's work stuff including ties (must remember to use a teatowel on them ;) ). I hate the preschool wash/iron in September and I've only done it twice before! How my mum used to cope with 3 of us in school I don't know

OH has asked for French Onion soup for tea so I need to make that up at some point. We're supposed to have a Finance meeting today to look at a new creditcard (0% BT or the barclays life of balance one) and see if there is anywhere we can cut back more but OH has requested that we have it tomorrow instead - it's the 2nd day of inset at work and the kids start back on Monday so he's already warned me he won't be in a good mood when he gets in :rotfl:I don't think it would be so bad if he got the summer off as well, as he gets sick of the "so how was your holidays?" and he replies with "WHAT holidays? I've been here for 6 weeks working!!!!":rotfl:

Well DD is currently singing Angels at the top of her voice next to me which I'm going to take as a hint that she wants to have her hair done and play on Neopets :rotfl: Later

A lovely sunny day for a change here oop north! I'm sure it won't last, especially as OH has "kindly" said I can have the convertible car today! I 'spect it needs petrol or something

Went to visit my sis yesterday & see her new puppy. There are a couple of pics below for any doggie lovers.
    cute puppy alert!

Congrats on the anniversary AussieLass, it's mine on Tuesday.

PP - ((hugs)) to DD, I can't remember being nervous about starting secondary school, but I'm sure I must have been.

ageandjo - it's awful feeling so helpless, when you're so far away. ((hugs)) to your sis too.

FunkyFairy - funerals are generally awful. I went to my first one at 15 & "got it over & done with" so to speak.

Off to order a fab stockpot/steamer/pasta cooker/bain marie/saute pan/egg poacher device from the Good Food mag now. It's a Viners one for £50 & I have been looking for one for ages. All the others are nearer £100.

    Have a lovely day all

    Morning all!

Happy anniversary to Aussielass (I think?) and hugs to ageandjo.

Up a bit later than planned but DH has put the washing on (well, he put it in the machine, I filled it up with powder and vinegar and made it go) and have sorted out today's post - paperwork has been filed and stuff for the shredder has been shredded.

Still working from home - another 2/3 weeks and I'll have finished my write up! Chickpeas were soaking overnight so I'm cooking them in the microwave for the first time rather than on the hob - means less popping in to check they're okay. Chickpea and tomato pasta for dinner then.

Will be making a lemon bundt cake today - have to pop out and get icing sugar for the top. Money is extra tight at the moment - just had to buy our flights back to NI to see the folks at Christmas. Low-cost airline - yeah, right!

    Morning All

Been trying to read and post for the last hour but DD keeps distracting me with a book to read to her. Cant complain at an interest in books though. Given up reading and just heading straight for the posting.

Seriously messed up the budget this month, forgot about the mortgage payment being larger than the old rent so I've got to find £400 from somewhere. Dont know where from yet but its going to be storecupboard challenge all the way from now on.

    List for the day is
    1. 3 wash loads nearly caught up now. 1st load just about to finish
    2. Clean through
    3. Sort toy box again
    4. Ironing pile
    5. Shepherd pie, 1 for tea, 1 for the freezer.

Nearly forgot sister was supposed to complete on her house today but theres been a hold up at the solicators so the man shes buying off said she can borrow the keys to go in and clean if she wants, so thats what we'll be doing on Sunday cant wait till shes moving, will be joining the Flylady challenge again when shes gone!
Sorting my life out one day at a time
