Morning All
Another quick one today as need to finish ironing and do some paperwork before we head out bowling at lunchtime.
PP - I know how you feel DD is up one min and down the next - and talk about being snappy. Am totally dreading Mon eve but as everyone has said once they are there it will be fine. My DD is going to the same school as most of her friends so it wont be too bad for her. I can remember my first day I was the only one from my primary who went.
Funkyfairy - hope it goes as well as can be expected today.
Gonna have a quick surf around MSE and then get on - just got 6 school shirts to iron then need to pack up the pe kits and DD's bag then we are organised!! Not sure what we are having for lunch but tonight have the Beef Brisket that I cooked yesterday as OH bought a takeaway in.
Have a great day0 -
morning all.
in the middle of doing a huge cupboard and freezer inventory........they are all ram packed and embarrassingly i think i can go until nearly xmas without having to buy anything except milk,a few odd ingriedients here and there, fruit and veg(only supplements of veg too as we are growing our own)!!!
so that is my challenge......i want to run freezers down before xmas anyway to make the most of super reduced things...usually sainsburys 10p day on the 27th dec!!!!
P_P...hugs to you,dd and your friend............dd will love school once shes there but i certainly remember that nervous feeling!!
FUNKY FAIRY.........my thoughts are with you and DH hun.
so far today i have done two washloads and put on airers, made a stew in slow cooker and had a bit of a tidy......going to put BM on in a mo as no bread in and i thought lovely fresh loaf would be nice with the stew.
also proud mummy moment...my eldest (3) drew her first recognisable(not just scribble) picture today...it was of grandad and is now proudly on the fridge!!0 -
Typing this in the library as DDs are on computer at home. Will need to pack for weekend in Scotland and need to go to York to get original copy of my father's will.May try to take it in personally to the probate office in Leeds so I know it gets there safely. No bread or eggs so need to go to corner shop.Got back to OS last night by making a huge quiche and a blackberry flan.Family very relieved to have home cooking after all the disruption.Hugs to all.penny pincherI had three miscarriages in a year and a half but then had my youngest who is now 12.You never really forget but it does fade a bit. Glad you are letting your friend grieve! I tried to be strong for everyone else and it took its toll on me."This site is addictive!"

Morning everyone :hello:
Well, I'm up and dressed AGAIN and it's not even midday!Must be getting prepared mentally for my return to school on Monday  The children don't return until Wednesday though, so I've got a little bit of time to build up my excitement over seeing 30 small children
Seriously, my new class didn't seem too bad when I had them on transfer day in July. I'm teaching Year 5 this term, as opposed to Year 6 last year. I'm hoping that this lot will be alot calmer than my hormonal Year 6s!
I've already been into town this morning to go to the beautician. I know that it's not very OS, but it's my little treat to myself...... just a bikini wax and eyebrow shape. I did try to do it myself, but I came out all lopsided
Got the MIL coming to take me out for lunch today. Bless her, but I'm just wondering what her ulterior motive is.... She's had to be told by DH not to keep on at us about when we're going to have her grandchildren
Anyway, better go for now.

Queenie wrote:Had a fabulous day yesterday, boys got a great report from the dentist and he was very impressed with them as people too. He asked d11yo what he wanted to do when he left school and his jaw almost hit the floor when ds replied "Pensions Advisor" :rotfl: (Don't think he was expecting that)
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Reminds me of when DS was small. He was asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, and said "a train". People would say, how lovely a train driver. DS would get very upset "no not driver A TRAIN!" :rotfl: :rotfl:Queenie wrote:PS: Pinch, punch, 1st of the month and bagsie no returns!

Sending a virtual bottle of water, cooked breakfast and some paracetomol to Purple Princess.
It's a beautiful day here, yesterday stayed dry and was very warm, had to jump in the shower when I got home as I felt so sticky and yuk. Wore denim hotpants the rest of the evening (much to MIL's dismay) so it must have been warm.
Have left house in complete disarray as DH and I had a lie in, very rarely do I leave without making the beds so I hope I'm the first home to do it. Am sorely tempted to nip home and do them quickly now (only live a minute away).:o
Was in the kitchen most of the evening again but thankfully wasn't so pressured as had made sure all was clear in the morning but still find it exhausting doing that amount of cooking etc after a day at work. MIL has a cold so feeling a bit under par, she did offer to help but it's not the cooking i need help with it's the clearing away afterwards. Not sure what I'm going to do tonight as DH is out on the lash and I haven't been able to get braising pork for love nor money which was what I had planned for dinner. Stuffed mushrooms maybe...hate cooking on a Friday night.
SIL called last night to ask if DD was free Sat am, she is taking her to see the Fimbles with my nephew, which will be lovely. DH will be laid up with a hangover on Saturday and is biking Sunday so I'm entertaining the in-laws I guess. Am hoping to take Monday off and we'll head to Bourton on the Water as get frustrated with In Laws going nowhere but blooming Windsor, it's not even that nice!!!
Also need to buy school shoes, DH is paying but will need to get the funds from him as cannot see how we will be with us at all before Tuesday.
Ooooh forgot to say DH got tickets for my brithday for Kylie's opening at Wembley on Jan 2nd for my birthday!!!! :T Am so excited.
Have a lovely day all.

Hello everyone,
I'm at work atm but really not in the mood for it I've had two irate clients on the phone ready to rip each others throats out, with me in the middle!
After work there is a pile of washing and ironing to tackle and another huge load of tomatoes off the allotment to freeze, I am going to have enough to last right through winter I think.
Hope you all have the best day you can!
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
