Feeling a lot better today, so a big THANK YOU to everyone for your kind thoughts and hugs yesterday.
Day off today and I am planning on spoiling myself.

Need to decide today if I want to carry on with my gym memebrship, am going to pop in later and have a chat about the offer.

Your poor sister, how awful for her to have to go through such misery. Has she thought about what she will do immediately after her husband has been caught in the act? Ie, how to get home safely and to be safe at home? Is there anyone she can call on for some immediate and moral support? I'm not surprised you're not sleeping - you have all your own troubles, then this worry on top. Life can be such a cow sometimes.
Not too sure what she will do, she has many friends over there and I hope that they will 'keep an eye on her' she has 3 lovely sons too the eldest being 18 and I think he doesnt like to leave her side much at the moment.
Her DH is so terrible he is trying to brible the kids etc as he cashed in an endowment policy without her knowing too (it was one of his own not joint)
Wish I could do more for her but the distance is so difficult
All I can do is be there via e-mail and phone.0 -
Howdy everbody,
Just having my afternoon smoko. Off to kitchen shortly to make a cake of some sort. Got quite a bit done today and everything crossed off my list. Off into town for the day tomorrow as we need to get more materials. I'm going to buy for a month's groceries seeing as we are taking Bombi over and see how it goes. It's not the buying it's the storing as we have hardly any cupboards here. DH brought back from the shed today some plastic containers so will store what I can't fit in the garden shed. Not ideal but in the next few weeks will be busy with the house so one less thing to do here will help.
Computer man is sick so prob won't hear from him until Friday about my puter. Did the boy's tax and made error in OS. Oh dear, too late now as I've lodged it. They should pick it up though and adjust it.
Snowy Good luck at the dr's today. Today must be a bit better than yesterday so just think how good tomorrow will be.
Ageandjo That sort of thing can backfire. By the sounds of it she knows what he's like & if she has taken him back well on some level she must enjoy all the drama. I would personally stay out of it and let them go for it.
dlb Welcome and lovely for you to join us.
Amanda Great that your'e feeling better and enjoy the day. The butterfly ring sound's pretty. Are they coloured?
Well off into the kitchen I go. Have a great day everyone. ByeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all,
Well, it's an early one for me as I am fed up of the morning battle with DH to get him out of bed ... so, I'm up, showered and downstairs whilst DH and DD are still asleep. In a mo, I shall go make a cuppa and get dressed.
DD starts back at playgroup today, so last night I was up printing photo's for her scrapbook to take with her. She came in to us at some point in the night, but for once was amiable about going back to her own bed when I explained to her it was playgroup tmw and she needed to be bright and breezy(It'll never work again :rotfl: ).
After playgroup, I've arranged to go around to a friend's and if the weather stays dry we're going foraging for blackberries
Yesterday I actually demolished all the paperwork, both personal and business. I feel most chuffed
Also, decided that I need to paint the wooden shelves in my kitchen, so the first one has been taken down and cleaned with ye olde vinegar, so whilst DD is at playgroup this morning, I aim to give it a first pass with the wood primer
B - Cereal
L - ?? round at friends
D - no idea, s'pose I could get organised now .... hmmm .... chilli ?
Good luck with the GP's SnowyOwl.
Happy Birthday Ms_London.
Hello to all the others, my brain is still asleep, and welcome to dlb...
Good luck to all those starting school today ... another couple of years to go for my LO.GC - March 2024 -0 -
OMG what a nightmare for her Ageandjo. I had v.wrongly guessed she was fairly recently married and a fairly recent immigrant down under. At least she has her 18 year old son who can stand beside her and give her some strength, though it's a lot for an 18 year old to bear. I'm glad to hear she has some good friends locally, and has you to talk to, even with the distance.
Hi Amanda666, glad you're feeling better today. Enjoy your day off and the last of your novel. Last time I borrowed library books I procrastinated so much about returning them that the fees came to £7.50. I was financially embarrassed as I didn't have the cash on me at the time - but I was horrified too that they could have built up so much, I thought it'd be about £1 maximum. I still haven't paid it, suppose I should go and do that soon.
BTW I went downstairs to wrap my Christmas cakes (the tin was too small so had to divide the mixture) for storage and realised that the underside of the bigger one is all black and a bit burnt looking. Grrr! The burnt bit isn't too deep - should I try and shave it off, or what should I do?
Hello dlb. Best of luck with finding the carpet in your sons' room. They will think they are in the wrong house when they get back this evening lol.0 -

No she doesnt enjoy the drama at all, she doesnt want him there, Aussie that has upset me what you have said. Ther is more to this and to comment like that I find a little harsh.0 -

Morning all. I too hope you don't mind me joining, I have lurked for ages before posting yesterday! I am always up this early as I have two toddlers. I have now had two nights in a row of uninterupted sleep, a rare occurence in the last three years.
Snowy, What a shame, I would guess store it as it is and then carefully cut the bottom off before you decorate it?
I have work today and my boys are off to nursery, usually enjoy the break but today I am doing five  interviews, the least enjoyed bit of my job.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Morning Guys!
Well its here....the first day of Secondary school for DD and Im pooping my pants:rotfl: ...she on the other hand seems very calm and collective...freaky child:D Im so nervous for her, but know she will be fine!
Bathroom is coming on well. Totally stripped the walls and seems so small in there. In our front garden we have a bath, several bags of rubbish and the flooring. Think today he is concentrating on the tiling. He was here from 7.50am to 4.45pm stopping for a 30min break, which he ate in the living room with us. He seems a lovely guy and a hard grafter. There is thick dust everywhere, which is really difficult for me as I like to keep a neat and tidy home:eek:
Ms-London-Happy Birthday Hun. I miss ya on here all the time, but am glad your living your dream. Life can change at anytime (Steve Irwin incident proved that) and we have to grab life with both hands. Enjoy yourself, but stay safe:D
Anyway, dd has come down and has asked for scrambled egg, so she must be OK. God.....my tummy is going:o Wish her luck guys:T
Breakie: Scrambled egg/toast
Lunch: Baked Spud
Dinner: Shepards Pie & Veg
Will post a picture later. Hugs to all.
