  • Im glad I read Zeds post as I was beginning to think I was the only person on the planet who had never heard of Steve Irwin. Shame for his young family though.
I have not done any of the ironing mountain I was going to tackle, I seem to have spent the entire day busily doing nothing. At least I have got organized for school tomorrow, kids are in bed listening to story tapes. It seems to take mine ages to adjust their body clocks back to routine. I havent got the iron will to enforce early bedtimes on them during the school holidays, (although I try not to make it too late) and they both enjoy a lie in too. I will probably have a week of grumpiness before their body clocks alter.
Im off to fiddle around with internet banking and money and see if I can pull off any magic this month.
Snowyowl - I hope you manage to sort out a resolution to your work problems. I can sympathise, I had a similar problem this time last year and it caused me so much stress and misery for months, it seemed to seep into everything I did no matter how much of a brave face I put on it. I hope your doctor can help.

Hi Dorry, the doc's is tomorrow. They were busy busy busy today - offered me an appointment for Wednesday next week, but got one with a locum instead. I'm dreading it tbh, having to explain myself all over again. Well, she'll have all my notes and things, so it'll be there in front of her. The surgery is about 50 yards away from my office....

The Christmas cake is in the oven:j. Actually, it's two Christmas cakes as my tin was too small so had to quickly enlist the services of my loaf tin and that one is out already. It smells gorgeous!! I've never made a proper fruit cake before so I am all pleased with myself.

I am so glad I didn't go to work today. When I think of the place I get that horrible sick feeling, the one you get when you're about to do something that scares you.

PP - how was your small person's first day?

Julieboo - well done on making so much food for so few £££. It all sounds v.yum.

Sweet Pea, thanks, you have put it really well. It's like the proverbial black cloud is perpetually hanging over me. I hate feeling like this, and I am sure it must rub off on the others in the office even though I have tried to cover it up. It's better for everyone that I'm not there right now. Hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you get your situation sorted out?

Blimey!!! 116 posts - and I only read about 5 this morning. I'm afraid I've only skimmed those on this page and had to miss out the others as it needs to be another early night for me tonight.

Annie - I agree with Moggins advice, after all, even if it's 'on route' it can be quite a tie to have to give someone a lift on a regular basis. What if you needed to go somewhere straight after school, or wanted to have someone around to tez etc. TBH if it were me, I'd probably be afraid of rocking the boat too - but as an outsider I think they're being VERY rude to ask this much of you.
Aww, Moggins, I can see I've already missed you!
Thanks to everyone who wished me well today. College was fantastic and I was really pleased that I went. The group is lovely - and I'm not the oldest there by far!!! The most daunting bit was walking past all the youngsters 'chillin' outside the college, I just reminded myself that they had no idea whether I was a student or staff and waltzed passed 'pretending' to be staff, lol.
Prices for lunch etc are scary!! Luckily I took lunch, but you have to buy something to be allowed to eat in the canteen - a cup of tea (in a naff polystyrene cup) is 60p. I nearly choked - especially as I knew my flask was sat in the car with plenty! I did cave in though as I wanted to get to know some of the others on the course.
All in all it felt really good to be there, and I'm really looking forward to going back tomorrow.
All the boys uniforms are labelled (a first for me) and ironed, I know what I'm wearing tomorrow - all that's left to do is put the BM on and set my alarm for an even earlier start tomorrow :D Yikes!!! ;)
Thinking of you all and hoping all is well,
    Love Kaz x
Ps Really sad to hear about Steve Irwin. He allways struck me as someone who was 'larger than life'. I'm sure he's going to leave a huge gap in the lives of not only his family, but his colleagues too. God bless.

Just a quick pop in before bed, it's an early night for me with school tomorrow.

Kaz I'm glad you had a good day, I told you it would be good fun didn't I?

Snowy good luck with the docs, make sure you don't put a brave face on it and tell them everything.

I finally took the dressing off my hand today, it really hurts when I try to sew with it but I can manage knitting okay so I only took in the skirt that DD is wearing tomorrow but finished another scarf for christmas and started on another one. I am really looking forward to having a bit of peace again even though I have a million errands to run and DS will still be home.

I don't have any real housework tasks planned as I have so much else to do but I will see what I can fit in.

Alkso, one of the little ones i look after, its her first morning at nursery, and its my job to take her and pick her up again, so im feeling quite nervous for her, ive looked after her 5 days a week since she was 1 (now 3 3/4) 3 days between 5 months and 1, so she is very much like my own, and its a big step for a little one!!!!

    Morning everyone!

Thought I'd get the thread started since I'm having yet another broken sleep night.

I don't have anything terribly dramatic to report this morning - house smells like a Christmas grotto due to my cake making last night. It's very nice actually, but can imagine if someone visited the smell to them would be very strong.

Will tune in again later when I'm a bit more with it!

    Edit to add:

OMG, how rude of me!! It's Ms London's birthday and it's definitely TODAY. Have a fantastic day and evening Ms London.

    Bye

Hi ageandjo, thank you for your good wishes.

Your poor sister, how awful for her to have to go through such misery. Has she thought about what she will do immediately after her husband has been caught in the act? Ie, how to get home safely and to be safe at home? Is there anyone she can call on for some immediate and moral support? I'm not surprised you're not sleeping - you have all your own troubles, then this worry on top. Life can be such a cow sometimes.
