MURPHY'S NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER #1240 -
I've had a very busy day, which is probably a good thing.
Special thoughts for you ticklemouse on the anniversary of your Dad. This would have been my Mum's birthday, she died in March on my Dad's birthday, so has been a sad day for me. But I've done some things and seen some people that I know would have made her happy, and that's all I can do for her now.
Speak tomorrow, have good afternoons/evenings.

Mine leaked all over the utility room floor last night also, must've been something in the air eh! However, on mine it was simple to fix ... I'd got some grit caught in the seal which had caused the problem, a good clean around with a cloth and bob's your uncle. Hope your's is as simple ....GC - March 2024 -0 -

Your DD's bedroom sounds lovely - I really wanted a girl. Diggers everywhere just isn't the same.
As the mother of 2 boys and 1 girl, trust me boys are waaay easier Hex
My dd does the same sort of things as Moggins' dd does
I am really counting the hours till 9 am Wednesday now, when school starts again. My kids are driving me mad - well, to be fair ds1 isn't (yet).
Have all the uniform labelled and ironed. Have just been trying to pierce extra holes in ds1's new belt. Impossible to buy a child's plain belt on it's own in Worcester, they only seem to be available with trousers attached - why ?? Have bought smallest adult one possible.
Have made lunch box menus and bought special dried fruit and crackers for them. I am determined to make their lunches the envy of all their friends and impress the dinner ladies with their superior nutritional content
Wednesday's menu will be wraps spread with cream cheese and ham, cut into sections to look like sushi rolls, carrot sticks, cherry toms and cucumber, pretzels, mixed dried fruit and a couple of squares of chocolate, kiwi slices, grapes and plums.
Have actually made a meal plan this week tooBaked spuds filled with broccoli cheese and bacon tonight.
Just off to strain my pan of chicken stockI am supermum :rotfl:

((((((((((((((((((big hugs)))))))))))))))))) to Ticklemouse and Churchmouse.
I've just been on the phone to my parents, their gas fire has been condemned and I'm trying to work out what is going on as it goes in one ear and out the other with my mum and dad is as deaf as a postI've told them that I will take them shopping for a new gas fire as soon as they know what is going on.
Uniforms are all ironed, labelled and ready for tomorrow. I'm just about to dig out the sticky labels to do DD's lunch box, DS refuses to have one and just shoves it all in his rucksack! DS's school are having a crack down and no longer allow anything chocolate so that has really upset him
DD is bath, hair washed and all spruced up for the morning and my hair is squeaky cleanThanks DH.
I'm cooking kedgeree for tea and am just about the break out the new Kenwood to bake some goodies for the lunch boxesOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

I've never posted on the daily thread before but as this week is my first official week as a SAHM/Domestic Goddess/Desperate Housewife (you pick!) I was searching for some friendship and support in my new role and as I've found the O/S board such an inspiration since I found it thought this would be the place to go - sure enough you are as warm, welcoming, friendly and supportive here as elsewhere on the board.
So hello everyone.
SnowyOwl - writing down what you want to say to the Dr is a good idea. I've done this is the past to clarify what I want/need out of the visit. Also found tears work as a last resortGood luck.
hex2 - envy your clutter free and clean home. Don't be too cross with DD, she's just trying to show mummy her creative side! You will laugh about this to people eventually!
Moggins - can't wait for next flylady challenge as I've lost momentum.
Aussielass & Jaybee - thanks for poems made me smile
Penny Pincher - thought of you running down Bargain Rzl's XBF made me :rotfl:
Bargain Rzl - you don't deserve to be treated like that - move on
My Mum and Dad visited Steve Irwin's zoo last year in Oz and haven't stopped praising it - it's very sad he has gone but he leaves a great legacy, not least the thousands of children interested in wildlife through his work.
Got DS and my own hair cut this morning, then rushed off for DS's first swimming lesson - now totally exhausted. Somehow I've got to find the energy to plan the week's meals (Black Saturn's thread here I come), food shop, attempt plum jam again and stick a few plum crumbles in the freezer. Also have to prepare for DS starting pre-school on Thursday, think I'm more nervous than him!

Hey thriftlady - you sound so in control - I've got one 3 year old starting pre-school this week and would love to be as together as you! Please share your lunch box menus.
Moggins - you also seem really in control and ready for the new school year.
Now where did I put those clothes labels...Punky x0 -
Hello, Punky, and welcome back Jaybee!
Uniform all labelled, ironed and ready to go. Both mine have canteen-style lunches, so glad that my pack-up days are over (though I still make for DH and I, so will be making thriftlady's "sushi" rolls).
((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need them - looks like plenty of us today!
Doddsy, clog dancing sounds great fun. No-one will mess with you with your clogs on!
Been to collect a beautiful rope ladder, courtesy of Freecycle. Will grace the treehouse by the weekend. Also been offered some jam jars (thanks Lucie!), a scanner and an old pram (to salvage the wheels for children to make go-kart)
Shez, well done on the e-bay! Never tried it, but have several items I may be able to sell. Do I understand that you're not sending anything - collect only? Would you recommend e-baying? Is it time-consuming?
Hex and Moggins,
