jaybee - that's really good, I think I shall have to "nick" that and pass it on.
Well, I've just dragged DH up the town (all of 2 mins walk away) to the bank, and of course a quick trawl around the charity shops ..... guess who now has 4 more demi-johns3 clear and 1 brown, for 50p each :j :j .
All because I actually asked the woman in the shop ... they were lurking in the back not yet put out :j :j . It's sad the things that make you happy innit
((hugs)) to Ticklemouse, I still get blue on my father's anniversary, and that was 9yrs agoGC - March 2024 -0 -
Hi everyone!
Sorry haven't read thread yet but hugs to all those who need them.
Not much going on today on the OS front [does doing a dark wash and putting the bin out count?!!]
Good news though....my mummy is going to get me the Tightwad Gazette for my birthday. She roared when I told her but I know she'll take a sneaky peek. She'd actually rung to tell me that my Dad had found a frugal web site in the Telegraph at the weekend https://www.frugal.org.uk...no doubt you old timers will have come across it but I shall check it out idc.
Mountains of ironing tonight [simply splendid] and OH is cooking pasta with lemon for tea.
Beachbabe...I served the paprika beef with buttered toast because I'm a lazy mare and couldn't be pfaffed to even peel and cook the spuds last night. Other demands on my time...like coming on here:rotfl: :rotfl:
Cheerio

Sympathy please!
I finally got the place tidy, clean and clutter free (with grateful thanks to Moggins & co for support and encouragement). Managing to stay that way until I was on the phone this morning, came back into newly painted living room to find 2 year old ds has drawn in biro all over the walls. ((((((((((((((((hex))))))))))))
I do know how you feel, DD has the most beautiful bedroom it was possible to give her, all pink and girly with a four poster bed and voiles and star lights. Went in the other night to find she had been writing some kind of chart in green crayon all over the wall and had been crayoning on her pink tv/dvd combi too, I could have cried
I still haven't worked out how to get it off yet as crayon is a complete swine!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thanks Moggins!
Not sure where he got it from but it must be water based, my beloved microfibre cloth has removed the worst of it.
Your DD's bedroom sounds lovely - I really wanted a girl. Diggers everywhere just isn't the same.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Hiya all
Hugs to Snowy and Tinkerbell (((hugs))) and looks like a few are having a low/bad day too. My w/m had sprung a leak and there was water all over the utility floor this morning. OH won't look at it incase he does even more damage, so will have to get engineer out and we were trying to spend very little this month. Grrr!
Jaybee - thanks for the quote - it's now on the inner office wall!
Taplady - after tea, and an allotment meeting I am off to a clog dance lesson, now why is it my dds fall about laughing every time I mention that?I have told the teacher how terribly unfit I am but she said to come along and have a laugh and a:beer: anyway?
Going to the allotment meeting cos there has been a spate of vandalism, tools stolen and produce either taken or trashed:mad:
Ta ra for now
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
