Hi everyone :hello:.......... Well, I'm back at work and that seems to mean that my formatting doesn't work! I can't even press the thanks button or quote button!!!.......... Amanda: well done to your boys! I spent most of yesterday's match worrying that one of my favourites had lost too much weight (he goes out with Lucie Silvas, the singer, so I feel that he's a little neglected
Maybe he could be fattened up by me?
)......... We have news that the offer on the house yesterday was accepted. :j :j :j :j Apparently the lady didn't expect to sell so quickly (we were her first viewings and it should have gone on the market today!) and hasn't actually found a new house/flat, but she's hoping to by the end of the week (moving to be closer to her family after the death of her husband)........ It seems like it's going to be fun and games at school today. There are quite a few teachers with their noses out of place due to the new head, so I'm going to keep my head down and hope that I don't clash in my last term of being an NQT (newly qualified teacher) so that I at least pass it! :DBye for now.

Hello all
I can't rememebr everything I've just read so Hugs to all who need them, and good luck to everyone starting school/nursery/new job today.
I stardropped the kitchen this weekend (looks lovely) and baked lots of bread, biscuits and muffins, though I stupidly forgot to put the sugar inthe muffins. They were orange so are not inedible just not very sweet. Probably very good for us!
Walked the dog on the beach over the weekend and now need to hoover the carpet and her rug as we appear to have brought most of it home. Was out all day yesterday so I'll do it tonight when I get home.
At w*** today and a very boring meeting this afternoon..... can't wait.....0 -
Morning all!
Was very shocked to hear about Steve Irwin as he was a big favourite of mine. His poor family must be devastated.Feel very sad about it.:(
Not a lot on today - DS2 going on a sleepover, DS1 to the Dr for some more antibiotics for his skin.Going to ask my friend round for a coffee later.Thats about it apart from some housework etc.
Had to ground my 2 last night as they've both been having too many late nights and were so grumpy and answering back etc so they had to stop in after tea apart from walking the dogs with us then into the bath and off to bed before 10pm!!!! didn't go down too well:rolleyes: but it was needed;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning everyone!
Got to sort out my bedroom, ds & dd's rooms today as the decorator is coming tomorrow. God, makes me realise how much junk I keep...Opps.
Kids still not 100% so not sending them to the childminders.
Am going to make soup with some veg that needs using, onions, carrots, spuds & chuck in some lentils. I also have various veggie stocks on my shelf so shall bung a bit of that in.
Will whizz it up for the kids. Even of they don't "eat" it, they will dip their bread in & get some goodness from it.
Very sad about steve Irwin, but at least he died doing what he loved best. Feel for his wife & 2 babies though.
DH (the real one!) has gone away. Typical, he can escape the decorator...
take care all

Hi All,
I see you are all up with the lark as usual.
I am planning to spend today doing loads of ironing, the worst bit about returning from holiday.
Had a lovely few days down near to Haywards Heath/Burgess Hill in E Sussex. Spent a day at Brighton, (DD's were hoping to spot Pete the BB winner but no luck!) and a day at Eastbourne and of course we had to go on a steam railway, our holidays are not real ones if we dont visit a lighthouse or go on a steam railway! Had good weather too, so although our holiday was cut short by my mums illness it was a good few days away. Mum seems to be doing OK too, she was amazed by all the visitors she has whilst we were away.
So I will be ironing, and sorting out what DD's want to wear tomorrow and organizing school/PE bags etc. I am not back at work until Thursday after nearly 7 weeks off, cant say I enjoy being back on treadmill but thats life.
First task over the next couple of weeks is to visit all the local secondary schools and decide where to send DD. We are lucky we are in the catchment area for some good ones, which is good as she has decided there is no way she is taking the grammar school entrance exam. Hope she doesnt live to regret this decision as I did, but I cant force her.
Right Im off to sort breakfast for the one daughter who has just surfaced.0 -
Morning all,
Hugs to Snowy and Tinkerbelluk. Snowy, sometimes you can be too physically close - my MIL improved dramatically when we moved to NI 11 years ago - before then we were only an hour away and it was a big problem!!! Nothing like the Irish Sea between you and relatives:D
Quiet morning here as it's THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. Peace perfect peace to tidy up in and I can be on the computer without them murdering each other. And ds2 is now in school till 2.30 each day rather than 1.30 - it'll make such a difference!! Al though I have to pick him up at 1.30 today for a doctor's appointment - typical.
Dinner tonight is going to be the baked bean and spare rib thing that someone posted a few days ago - sorry I can't remember who. Major Dyson session as well as we are looking after a friend's dog and he sheds white hair everywhere“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Morning everyone. So sad to hear about Steve Irwin. I really enjoyed his programmes. He brought such enthusiasm and energy into everything. It is apparently a rare thing to be killed by a stingray (only 3 known cases) because usually they are lying on the sea bed and get your legs, so how it got Steve in the chest I don't know! I feel for his family.
Snowy - the suggestions made before are absolutely right. Make sure you have it clear in your head what you are going to say before you speak to work and your doctor. Don't be apologetic to your work place just tell them you won't be coming in because...... and be firm and quiet. Be as upset and sad with your doctor as you can as sometimes they aren't sympathetic (Im lucky because my doctors always were). Tell him/her that you are having trouble sleeping whether you are or not. Let us know how you get on. I know exactly how you feel though. I hated ringing work and used to hope I spoke to this person and not that person!
My youngest daughter has her induction day at college this morning. Hope she gets on well and makes some new friends otherwise she won't want to go back!
B: Toast made with HM bread
L: Lasagne (ready meal)Pasta with homemade sausage, carrot and tom sauce

Had a horrid day yesterday ... As Catowen said, they cancelled last night's concert due to a fire ... It was not a particularly large fire I don't think (though there was a fair amount of smoke and several hunky firemen
) but it bu99ered up the electrics which is supposedly the main reason for the concert being cancelled ... More worrying news is that there's been some speculation that the visiting orchestra's instruments were stored near to the source of the fire ... Now we're waiting to see whether tonight's 2 concerts will be able to go ahead! ... Anyway we'd been waiting in the queue as usual and when we were told about the cancellation, a bunch of us went back to my XBF's place for drinks and to listen to a CD of the symphony we were supposed to be hearing! ... Most of the evening was a lot of fun and then various things started going downhill ... First of all, I had a long heart-to-heart with one of my friends whose marriage appears to be over
- it's a real shame, but he got married too young and has discovered that he has feelings for somebody else that he never had with his wife
... Later on, I ended up having a row with XBF resulting in him telling me to get the f**k out of his flat ... Missed the last tube and had to get the night bus ... Didn't get home until 2am ... Somehow managed to lose my hairbrush, my trusty plastic wine-glass and one of my favourite jumpers ... Anyway, as you can probably tell I am exceedingly blue this morning
