Moggins, you said a few days ago that you came in under budget, even without your OH's overtime. Effectively you have earned that extra money. Yes you have purchased the Kenwood Chef, though that will benefit your entire household so it is not a personal treat. I think you should spoil yourself - the heated jacket will be yours for years and years. And besides it's in the sale. Maybe I've got the wrong end of the stick but by paying the discounted price you are actually building your pin money by an extra £13? Go for it, you know you want to!

Thanks Snowy - you've talked me into it. I've ordered the jacket and the heated handwarmers for DS to take to school.

I remember someone asking about the fingerless gloves that turned into mittens? I've found those on that website too.

:T:T good for you Moggins! You did so much for your wee ones and for DH over the summer you deserve it!!

That website is a bit of an Aladdin's Cave! I see they have one of those contraptions to make paper bricks for the fire - it's £19.99. I want to use my real fire this year, but the price of coal is apparently  and it'd get nicked from my back garden anyway.

    Goodmorning everyone,

Today I have promised myself to get my bum into gear and have a very productive day. I have quite a bit to do today and the last few days have been very very lazy. :D Last night I finished off a book while munching on the peanut brittle. All gone now.

Prinny Hope your hand heals well. Burns are so painful.

Dobie Glad to hear you had a brief respite from worry.

Snowy Have a good sleep and do go the dr's tomorrow. Do you like going for walks? I find them very theraputic as well as good for you. Really blows the cobwebs away. Crowds etc just make you claustophobic. Do you have one of those phones that display the number of the caller, if you do maybe not pick up atm if it's your Mum. You are too fragile in spirit to cope with those critisims atm. Don't feel bad, we all need time to lick our wounds. Some mothers are v domineering and it's easier to go with the flow than retialiate. It takes too much energy out of you.

Moggins Off to look at the vest. You have me intrigued. Hope it keeps you snug.

Better keep going. Have a good nights sleep everyone. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Snowy,
I don't often post on here ( my life is so boring i would send everyone to sleep) but i read every day. I just wanted to send you a big hug as i know how you feel, i moved from England to NI 16 years ago and i hated it at first, i had trouble finding friends and a job i liked and i cried nearly everyday. but slowly i made friends and found jobs i liked and now i love it here, and as for your mum she sounds like the ' typical irish mammy' finding it hard to let go and trying to live your life,my granny is like that too but she has lots of children to take it out on, i take from your posts you are the only one so you get the brunt of it, maybe we should have a NI meet to cheer you up!
Hope you feel better soon and get a great job.

Thank you Cliffsgirl! Are you originally from here?

My mammy is I suppose typical of the stereotype. I broke free years ago, my mistake was to come back. It's like the 15 or so years I was away never happened, she has just picked up where she left off. I've got an older sister - don't see her too often which is fine (but not in an arguing type of way, just haven't got that much in common as we're so different) and my mother has been known to accidentally drive past her house to see if there are any cars other than my sister's parked in the drive - ie checking out her lovelife. It'd make you laugh, scream, laugh, scream, laugh and scream in that order.

Good morning (good night?!) Penny Pincher!!

You sound chirpy! Hope you have a good sleep. Enjoy your last bath...hope the work on your new showers goes quickly and without a hitch. Regards your DD - she'll be fine! I know she's just a little girl, but from what you say it sounds like she's got a good head on her shoulders. She will be calm and mature and enjoy the day, I just know it.

Hurray! I'm not going to the sh!thole office today, hopefully never ever going back again. Gotta phone my GP for an appointment though, hope they can see me today or tomorrow. Wish me luck...

I am terribly confused about the time difference between here and Australia. However a little bird has told me that it's Ms London's 26th birthday on Tuesday 5th September. So, in my confusion I can't work out if in Australia that is today by current UK time (which is why I am mentioning it!), or if it might be the day after tomorrow. Whichever it is, Ms London have a fantastic day, be good to yourself and remember, it's raining cats and dogs all over the UK so you're not missing much!!!

Good night everyone...errr I mean good morning....

  • Good morning Penny Pincher. I am just having ten minutes break from working on my final OU assignment for my current course so thought i would see what's happening on OS.
Hope everything goes well with your shower installation, it will make a big difference to you I'm sure.Hope DD enjoys her first day at big school.
Hi to everyone that follows later this morning.
DD is back at school today too:T :j :T , it will be lovely to get back into usual routine and not have to listen to her moaning that she is bored at least ten times a day,not to mention being able to keep food in the fridge without her constantly snacking.
