  • Morning from windy and wild suffolk.

As it is such good drying weather, have been washing like a mad thing.....but, disaster.....The washing machine door has fallen off  luckily it's rented, so no repair costs there. Then the washing line snapped twice, int the high winds.........what next eh? just waiting for the third disaster, or can I count the washing line twice?

The dinner is nearly cooked, roast pork and all the trimmings. Just pausing for breath and a nice glass of red wine:p

    Have a lovely day :D

Well, i put the DW back on, and it finished its cycle without leaking again!!!! Ive checked the door seal, and i cant see any blockages anywhere, so not quite sure what happened. Think i will try it again before getting anyone out, and if it does it again then i know there is a big problem!!!! The floor is fine, very clean now so thats one good thing!!!!
Havnt been able to get my new computer today either, little ones dad is having a few probs getting it 'formatted' to what im wanting/needing, but says he will def get it done for me sometime in the next week, so at least its still coming.
Right, im going for a browse and to stuff myself with chocolate, that will pick my day up a bit!!!!
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Good day all (again). I've just re-woken and feel a little better.
Sorry about your DW Catowen - hope you can get it sorted.
Foreverskint, I feel for you too.
    Fingers crossed for you Vicky.
Kaz you can share my nutty chocolate (it's really yummy - vegan too!)
Well done Taplady - £20 ain't to be sniffed at!

While I've been asleep, my dearest Justin has cleaned the fridge, done another load of washing, and started making a telescope (from scratch). He's doing an OU course in astronomy at the moment, so I'm trying not to take up too much of his time. I'm so used to him doing the lot, but I have been trying to pull my weight lately - just need to learn how to pace myself properly so I don't get too much pain. Fortunately this place doesn't take much upkeep.

Big hugs to those who need one, and a share of my other bar of choccy for anyone who wants! :grouphug:

Completely mentally shattered after having a heart to heart with OH's niece. She desperately needs counselling but doesnt have the confidence to ask her GP for help. Sat with her and helped her draw up a letter for her GP explaining some confidences and that she is to shy to go in face to face etc. Also added some basic information about why she feels she needs help (very valid reasons and didnt realise how much she had been effected by something that happened quite a while ago). I have a good idea she will be referred to MH services and hopefully they will assess her. She is nearly 20 and it is so sad to see her so lonely, no job, so sad and with no confidence! Anyway, she has gone home now but have given her a house key incase she needs it. This week has been such an emotional roller coaster:eek:

Washload is out on the line and the weather is gorgeous! OH is digging a whole to relocate a bush:confused: and Im planning on a bath as it goes tomorrow:D

DD returned OK and had slept 7hrs...so much better than last time. She was hungry so had a baked spud with us and cousin for lunch.

Anyway, Im gonna go and get my head down for an hour as I didnt get much sleep and feel so drained.

    Hugs to all.

  • Well done Penny Pincher - and good luck to your niece - she's obviously very lucky to have you around.:T

Could strangle ds1's godfather - he rang whikst I was in the middle of browning the beef to ask what we were doing at half term. I said I was in England to do MIL and late FILs' tax returns - at which point he said he thought they'd moved the deadline to end of Sept. I was pretty sure they hadn't as I file online but I still had to turn everything off in the kitchen and run upstairs to check the IR website - and no. it's still the 31 Jan . Grrrrrrr!!!!

Oh well back to finish the beef casserole and get everything ready for the fondue we're having tonight - last night of the hols! - it's a meat one in HM stock with dipping sauces and then we'll put noodles in at the end. I also need to make some biccies as the coffee and walnut cake ds1 made yesterday won't be allowed at school.

    Afternoon all

DH has been on holiday all week so I've not had chance to catch up each day!

Did a bootfair in the village today - did really well despite the weather and managed to raise £144 :T There's a few bits left that will go to the charity shop in the morning and a few bits I'll bung on freecycle - I'm not willing to put it all back in the loft!

Went blackberry picking yesterday - got 2 huge tubs full and luckily Mum brought down 2 huge tubs of stewed apple that she'd got from her next door neighbours tree, there's easily enough for 8 crumbles or pies, just need to find freezer space now.

Really need to pull our belts in now, we've had a lovely week together and been for some lovely days out but it's now time to refocus......will help when the kids go back to school.....I've not labled any of their new stuff as I fully intend to send them back in summer dresses from last term. PE bags are packed, school bags are sorted and ready to go....can't be doing with a last minute dash.

Anyway - hope you're all well - seems like forever since I've managed to get on here!
