  • HI EVERYONE

BIg hugs to miniF !!!!!!!!{hugs))))) hope he improves.
    Happy Birthday Learning to save
    WOW congratulation KIWICHICK thats Fantastic
Hope no one minds if I jump back on the old style thread. Lots has gone on the last month or so.
I am finally taking driving lessons myself, have signed up to open university to one day get a degree in english;) Baby is now 1 and more like a toddler, dd 3yo is now at nursery 2 1/2 days a week - bliss and dd 7 is doing well.
I have won back my bank charges and now doing my dads and brothers for them.:D
Will be spending all that dosh on plants for the garden, edible edging- found a really good online company which is pretty cheap:j
Am hand washing once again as my 3 week old washing machine broke down on saturday  (can't get much more old style than that;) )
Still pretty o/s although could be doing more so need to pick up some more good habits. My sink isn't shining tonight for the first time in 4 days :rotfl:
so it's now going to stay like that until morning as I am shattered to say the least(have a stinking cold).
On a sadder note my granddad in law is very ill with lukemia (sp) and unfortunately will not be pulling through this time. He first got it back around march, than went into remisson, but it came back a few weeks ago and there is little that can be done this time, but he is still is old witty self, which is so good.
Right I must go and hit the land of nod.
    Hugs
    Frey

    Congrats to Kiwichick.xxx

I`m sooo excited today as I`ve just started my Driving Instructors course so hopefully if I pass all three parts I could be an ADI in roughly 6 months. YAY

Can I just ask a quick question from you lot? I am new to MSE and have only done a few posts but seem to have read loads of them and everyone seems to be using weird letters for things.I`ve worked out WM= washing machine and BM=bread maker,OH=other half but I do get confused as to what DD +DS are?I gather it`s Son and Daughter but what does the first D stand for?

  • Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thusrday 28th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”
type start does just as well.
Good morning to all you early birds, rain is definitly on the way as my joints have been kicking off for most of the night so I gave up and got up.

I shall get an early start this morning by putting on a big pot of vegatable soup to fill up some plastic flasks for the freezer today. I make about 3 litres at a time and chuck in anything I have in my fridge.
I am then going to crack on with the ironing. I have just started a Lit course at Uni so I have lots of reading to do so if I get all the boring things done first then i won't feel so bad about spending so much time reading. Hope everyone is well,it's awhile since I posted on here:j

Goodmorning JackieO and to all that will follow,

I just finished my ironing Jackie not that I'm bragging or anything. ;) The course sounds fab. I've been very busy the last week with the house. Got our roof on now. :j The blokes bring out the rest of the bits and pieces that was mucked up in the initial order tomorrow. I've sorted this house out now all ready for DGS arrival tomorrow. Our bed is shoved against the wall to fit the cot in. Just can open the cupboard to get our clothes in and out. Good excuse not to put any weight on. :p Winter gear packed away in boxes and put in garden shed so he can have some shelves. Went shopping last night so all stocked up.

The train comes in at 9.40am. Getting a SC sausage casserole ready tonight as I know he loves snags. :D

Had a late start this morning as I had a good chinwag with some VIP's. :A . (((((((((((((hugs))))))))) to Mimi F. Well I'll be off. Have a lovely Thursday to one and all.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Hope all is well with everyone in the land of OS. Feeling better today as got some sleep at last night. So am going to the gym this morning, polish my halo please! Then off to a friends as she has some free tickets to look around a local garden, which will be nice. Got my mother coming from France tomorrow, so must take an organic chicken out of the freezer to make a nice Madame La Farge chicken, delicious.
Still a little stressed re house move, dont know why it stresses me the way that it does, It should be exciting.
Got lots of things to buy for the new house so trying to eekkkkkkk out the frezzer/cupboards, but cant help it when I go into the supermarket to buy some milk or something and end up spending £20! Lol!
Going to make a cup of tea and have some crumpets for breakfast. May have lunch out with friend and supper will proberbly be pizza and salad as Dh away tonight.
PS think the wine helped re sleep, last night!

  • Morning all! The start of my 5-day weekend 3_4_30.gif

Well, it's finally the day of Mr BE vs Tigs in the chicken and leek pie cook-off. Can't wait! I think I might be on a promise for a slice of pie :j

As for my cooking, a bit rubbish at the mo. I've been having a freezer clearout while DH is away, and finishing individual portions of stuff. Cooked spaghetti last night, but when I added what I thought was pasta sauce, found it was curry   Good job I noticed before I added parmesan! It was fine, obviously, but a bit odd, as you expect rice with curry.

Today I'm converting frozen plums, green and red tomatoes, morello cherries, apples and damsons into chutney and jam. Had special request for minestrone for the weekend. Have stock in the freezer, too.

MimiF, hugs for you. Hope your dad gets well soon. Also Freyaluck, hugs for you and yours.

    Kiwichick - well done you!

Troo, are your family getting the message? Have they noticed you're on strike?

Big Hi! to Squeaky! 36_28_2.gif You weren't around when I started on this board, but I'm sure we'll get along just fine! Love your sig - very useful.

DS has been picked for the school footie team. They have a match straight after school, then half an hour later he has training with his team. He'll be well exercised :T

I'm off to choir tonight. We usually start rehearsing for our big Easter concert at this time, but there's been a delay on the delivery of scores. So we're practicing Christmas Carols :xmassign:

Yesterday, went into Julian Graves, and they had a half price sale. Got 2 carrier bags of dried fruit and stuff for £20! Excellent timing - Xmas cake fruit on to soak this weekend.

    Have a great day, everyone.

    Penny. x
