    Evening all

Well sounds like you've all had horrid weather - we've had a couple of drizzly spells but nothing major.....

The builders have knocked down our old extension, the footings are in for the new one and the whole house looks like 45 bombs have hit it...ah well - I'm concentrating on the finished effect.

Went to bed at 7pm last night with the headache from hell and was woken several times by eldest DD - she's got a cold and hurt her foot at school yesterday ----you'll be fine we said - just stop moaning......of course this morning it was still sore so we took her to the hospital.....she's broken her foot....she's done a Wayne Rooney and broken the 5th Metatarsil (sp)....she's now feeling very sorry for herself with crutches and a streaming cold..... lots of hugs and hot choccy will make it better I'm sure.

OS wise.....nothing - not a thing - after a 10 hour working day, a meeting at school, hospital and builders, it's all gone out the window........until tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

HI to all on the OS thread today. I've been busy with DS who is not very well. Spent the morning cleaning up the house, and playing tunnels under the duvet with DS (3yrs old). OH came home early and suprised my with a belated birthday meal, at local Litten Tree (2 meals for £6.79 - my suggestion). My mum had DS for a few hours. Even managed to get 2 cds and a cookery book from 1950's for £1.30 in charity shop. Has any else heard of "Practical Cooking" by Elizabeth Craig? Seems ligke a good OS read. Even has a section called "Hard-Time Hints".

Have a good weekend all ...powie

  • Evening everyone:wave:

:grouphug: To Mrs Mortenharket, take care of yourself.

Elizabeth Craig wrote cookbooks in the 40s and 50s. She definitely wrote a wartime one, I've not heard of that one though Powie. I love old cookbooks;).

leoflower OS stands for Old Style :)

Just had the most fantastic meat and potato pie (all part of my new mediterranean diet :rotfl: ). Slightly marred by my dd (stands for dratted daughter in my case) throwing a tantrum because she didn't get a pastry 'E' in her portion  - I wrote 'meat pie' in pastry letters on the top.

OH is getting rid- oops I mean putting her to bed at the mo.Boys are watching telly and a bottle of wine has been opened.
    Have a good evening everyone.
  • Watched HighSchool Musical with DD and was OK....very americanised and heavily dubbed on the singing...apart from that...was OK. Very much like Fame but younger kids acting. I would have loved going to school like that...ooo...if I was 15 years younger:D DD loved it, so will be another thing to put on the pressy list:rolleyes: 2nd one due 2007:eek:        nnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo;)

    Daily Sticky Info:

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 23 September, 2006.
This is an "over the garden fence" type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general "hi everyone, hope everyone’s well" type start does just as well.

:hello: Gooood Morning, fellow OS'ers :):):)

Had a busy and productive couple of days. Managed to get the gifts I'd bought last weekend wrapped and put away for Christmas. Don't mind doing it as I go along and when it's just the odd one or two bits, but when there's several to do, it's a bit labourious and time consuming.

Back over to friends for some sloe picking but the weather put a stop to that, so we had a good old chin wag and chuckle instead. She made a liver casserole and was a bit concerned when she went to cut into it as it was a bit ... er ... tough. I took a bite and realised it wasn't live at all but wood pigeon breast :rotfl: Wondered why it didn't have that lovely liver smell that you can usually spot a mile away ;) Tasty though.

Been surfing for a couple of hours - neighbours have had a noisy garden party, and I've gone beyond the point of sleep now.

Footie day today with the lads. Got the uniforms washing, hopefully no rain today so it'll all dry on the line (fingers X'd)

Hopefully, going to find some time to make some hm bath lotions this weekend to put away for gift baskets with the almond oil and coconut oil I bought from the Thai grocery store, that should scent the house out lovely ;)

With any luck all the gas work is now done and there'll be no more blips!

Welcome to all new OS's who have joined :hello:

Hugs for all those who need them. Hope those with hangovers drink lots of water to rehydrate themselves and recovery quickly.

    Adios

    Morning :hello:

I wanted a lie-in today but ended up waking up earlier than usual

Still ploughing through the washing, the kids insist on sorting out their rooms on fridays only so they have a weeks worth of washing EACH stuffed in the laundry basket (and piled next to it)

I'll get a ton of ironing done this morning then off to Aldi, back for lunch then off to a wedding at 3.30pm

  • Morning Guys!

Not slept well again, but life goes on:D

WM is on and will have 2 loads to do. Weather is cold, so will dry on the airer upstairs as its only bedding. DW needs emptying and toilet has been cleaned.

Made a white loaf in the BM last night, so will be having that with thick butter and HM jam for breakie;)

Looked through my pressy box last night and found a lovely Rose soap in a wooden box (bought for me from John Lewis last year:o ) and a posh room spray from M&S that I got reduced to 50p in the sale from £8:D ...so thats the pressies for the wedding shower tonight. I hope the gifts are ok-they are totally loaded...thanks goodness its annoyimous (sp):rotfl: Had a text through from a mate last night and we have all been invited to their 20th wedding anniversary meal-which they are paying for:confused: Its in a nice Indian, just outside London....not sure if we are going but already had their pressy in box anyway....M&S lovely lasrge picture frame..reduced from £18 to £5 in the january sales:p Going to either will depend on health and whether I can drug myself up enough:eek:

OH doing a few more jobs around the home and DD will be sorting her bag for Monday. She has been asked to help on 2 evenings for new possible parents and this means that she gets to go back into school from 6.30-9pm, no HW for these days and doesnt have to be into school the next day till 9.50am instead of 8.10......obviously she wants to do it:rotfl:

Breakie: HM Bread & HM Jam
Lunch: Baked Spud, ham and salad
Dinner: Roast Chicken, Roasties, 2 Veg, yorkies and gravy

Have a great day guys. Hugs
