  • Hi again.

I feel quite optimistic today. As some of you know, I'm having not the easiest of pregnancies and have spent a lot of time in bed with some good friends helping out with my son. DH is unwell too and has just been signed off work with his asthma.

Reason I'm optimistic? I've managed to cut down the amount of pills I'm on from 75mg to 20mg a day with good results. This means I'm up and about and have done the following:

Made my very first meal in my lovely new slow cooker (will let you know the results after dinner!) made a proper lunch for us all (pasta with pesto, cherry tomatoes and corn on the cob, done the washing up, swept the floors and sorted out several outstanding bits of paperwork that I hadn't the energy to attend to before. I'm having a rest now and should be up to sorting out the poor pathetic plants I've been neglecting too.

Many thanks to fluff for this post At £6.99 I think my cooker was a bargain and just knowing that dinner was dealt with before lunch time with marginal effort has inspired me to keep going.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

Oh yes, I forgot! Today is our 27th anniversary - no celebrations here though, OH is working all day and tomorrow although he did say we might manage a pub lunch on Sunday - who said romance was dead, eh?

Congratulations! Today is DH and I's 6th wedding anniversary ... we were going to do a "cook off" celebratory dinner tonight, but due to all being cold-ridden, sleep deprived, we're going to do it tomorrow instead.

OS-wise - few loads of washing to do, kitchen and dining room to clean, paper bricks to make.

B - Choc cake (left over from my b'day last week)
    L - Bacon / egg buttie
    D - Take-away Indial meal from Tescos.

I really, need to pull my finger out and get cooking. But, currently surviving is an issue. On the plus side - I have deep cleaned / de-cluttered our bedroom this week and stripped a whole load of wallpaper from the hall.

Well I didn't get round to putting the washing ON, never mind out onto the line. Just as well really, considering the weather :D

Moggins, that rain you drove in. I rode my bike in it, from town  When I got in I stood on the mat by the door and stripped off then legged it upstairs :D

Well the washing machine is on now :D Even my knickers and bra were soaked :rotfl:

My legs ached so much by the time I got home. I was feeling really sorry for myself :o I curled up with a pile of sandwiches and a HUGE bag of minstrels and watched Angel *sigh* :D

Thank you! I feel very guilty now because I have received TWO bouquets, one from OH and one from my studenty children! [pity I wasn't dressed when they arrived, poor delivery men :o ]

Have a lovely anniversary Zed42, hope you all feel better soon and enjoy that celebration dinner.

Having a break now, as I've been running around the house like a mad thing :p However, this does mean that I've had the washing machine on (though the washing won't be able to go outside as its started to rain); got the dishwasher on now, and have cleaned the kitchen. Also managed to get to the local rubbish dump with some stuff I needed rid of, so feeling quite pleased with myself.

Right! Onward and upwards! Time to start the dinner, maybe? Have a good day everyone :j

Troo - I've just cycled home from work, and am absolutely dripping (bra and knickers too :D )

I've got a nasty feeling the TD is going to get overworked this weekend
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)
