Morning all. Not a fantastic start to the day - broke a jar of homemade jam this morning, and DS(4) has decided not to get ready for school this morning, so unfortunately he's had to travel in the car with no clothes on! We had this with DD when she was about the same age, and did the 'going to school with you pj's on' thing, and she was always ready for school after that. Needless to say his dad has his full uniform in his bag, so he'll get ready when he gets there. Hope it has the desired effect, but can't help but think that I'd have had my bottom smacked if I'd done that at that age.
Anyway, on an OS note, today for tea we're having faggots in onion gravy, so need to get chopping and mincing soon. Washing basket is overflowing as is the ironing pile, which I've now split into immediate ironing and non-immediate bags, so I can hide one and it doesn't look so bad in the dining room!
Have a good day,

Good morning all
Not much sleep for me last night either, I was up at 2.45!
Ageandjo - I really feel for you with your back, I suffer myself, hope it gets better soon.
OS style, I have printed off some lovely planner sheets from organized.com and am going to plan a blitz on the house; not before time as I have the untidiest OH in the world. I can tidy and clean a room, turn round 5 mins later and it is all back how it was! On the plus side he does the hoovering and most of washing up so I think I'll keep him.
I hope all those feeling tired or poorly feel better soon. Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning Everyone:D
Quickie from me as ive got to take DS2 to nursery in a mo! and get to work!
Raining here so glad i done all the washing and i done all the ironing last nite so that i have a free weekend so spend with the kids whilst DH is away on Book People Conference (booze up more like!:rotfl: )
I made my mandarin cheesecake last nite, followed the instructions but the cheesy bit is abit too runny and hasnt set properly in the fridge:o - any thoughts as to how i can salvage it? tip it out and add more cream cheese to thicken? apart from that it looks good.
Off to school, will pop back later..
Hope everyone has a great friday!:T0 -

Morning all!
Not feeling very OS here at the moment - we went out for dinner last night as DH was down in London for a meeting and we wound up meeting up with friends for drinks and you know where that leads to... I've also just renewed my bike insurance so spending that kind of money before breakfast makes me worry!
Anyway, a nice easy day here. Waiting for a delivery but if that doesn't turn up soon I'm off swimming! Pasta and chickpea soup/stew for lunch and HM curry for tea tonight, the WM is about to go on and that will be the limit of my household activities today!
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning :hello:
Everybody seems to be having a bad day, so ((hugs))!
I'm facing another day of chasing the HA's solicitor (luckily I've now got a "boss" involved at the HA who thinks the delay the solicitor is causing is completely unacceptable and is now chasing them for me  :j)
And I've got loooooads of work to do
And I've got a stinking cold, which has been creeping up on me since Tuesday
But on the bright side, I went for a work night out yesterday, free c0cktails all evening and STILL I managed to behave myself enough to wake up without a hangover! :j :j
Edit: Woooohooooo!!!!!! Also just noticed that I've earned my fourth star and become a Mad Maverick Moneysaving Maniac!
Really looking forward to meeting Lillibet, Purpleprincess, Scuzz and Pawpurrs tomorrowHope the weather is nice!

Morning all.
My DDs have had High School Musical on the calender now for weeks - it's a major event in our house. It feels like Disney have been advertising it as 'Coming Soon' for months, and I know the song off by heart! They are going to have to watch it on Disney +1hr as they have Swimming Lessons at 5.30pm  That in itself has been a major trauma "We can't go, its High School Musical". Thank goodness for Disney +1hr. :T
Day off w**k today and I am planning on blitzing the bedrooms - ie. emptying all furniture (including beds) and hoovering throughout and bleaching the skirting boards. Been raining most of the night and morning, but Capital radio weather has just said it's going to brighten up - so hopefully will be able to get all my bedding on the line.
Off out tonight to see an Abba tribute band with all the mums from the girls school. We tend to do a 'big' night out once a month - and its always a bit wild - so I'm guessing tomorrow will be a write-off.And maybe Sunday too - its harder to deal with hangovers the older you get I find. Any miracle OS cures?
Have a good day all.

Morning all,
Off on a shopping spree shortly, DH has given me my birthday money today, £100 quid,:j instead of tomorrow so that I can shop till I drop on my own without DD in toe. Have no idea what I fancy but hes also taking me out tomorrow night so maybe a new sexy number is in order:rolleyes:
Need to bung a stew in slow cooker for dinner before I leave and load the BM but other than that I'm sorted.
Have a lovely day
Take care

Why is it I only ever get ill on a weekend, and have to spend my own time in bed feeling sorry for myself, rather than work time?
I've woken up with lovely tonsillitis this morning, managed to get to the docs for 8.45. so already have an antibiotics prescription.
I can safely say that there will be nothing OS going on around here today at all. zilch. nada. Might manage to stuff a load in the WM, but that's it. Haven't even put last night's dishes in the DW yet (Goats cheese in risotto was yummy BTW). I have noticed that the money for my new 5-in-1 stockpot, steamer, pasta drainer plus more toy came out of the bank yesterday, so hopefully it will be here in a couple of days :T
Good luck for those worrying about ofsted visits, new jobs, moth traps () and splattered walls. Cha97Michelle - I know the feeling about not having cash to pay for the takeaway - the stubs in my cheque book are always for curry!

Morning everyone
Well it is my last day at work today and I am feeling slightly sad which I didn't think would happen. I have a week off next week and I intend to batch cook, bake and scrub the house to within an inch of its life as my first 2 months are at uni full time and will be very grueling, before starting at my new placement. I have had a tip off that my first placement is general adult mental health which I am thrilled about as it was my first choice (currently work in child and adolsecent mental health) :j
And because its my last day I won't be doing my, I will finish at lunch time and go to the gym. Go home and get the vinegar and microfibres out and give the bathroom a good scrub ready for my friends coming to stay. Tonight we are hitting the town to celebrate my leaving.
So food wise today:
Lunch: branflakes (before gym)
Dinner: probably toast (can't eat too much before drinking!)
Drinks: far too many and all alcoholic
Tomorrow will be spent being OS at my house and my parents as they are back off holiday tomorrow so I want to give their house a good clean for their return too.
Have a great day everyone :T0
