  • Don't you just hate headlice - not had them for long while here(touch wood)

Thriftmonster hope your OH's depression lifts:grouphug: I was watching the Stephen Fry programme about bi-polar disorder last night and thought how awful for everyone affected by any kind of depression.

Feeling quite pleased with myself this morning as I've done a bit of gardening although didn't cycle to the PO as planned -well it looked like it was going to pour:o
Got my washing out now so it probably will pour any minute.Part-made ds1+2's beds (just duvets, they do the fitted sheets and pillows ;) ).
Am thinking about doing some lunch box baking and pondering what to make for supper. I was thinking of pizza but the optimum time to make the dough is when I need to fetch kids from school, so that's best left till the weekend. Have to feed kids at 5.30 (early for us) and OH at about 9 tonight so I need something that will 'hold' as I only want to cook once. Got no meat out so must be veggie.

    Happy Birthday Skystar

OMG will someone please remind me next time I go to the bootsale, not to!

I have just spent £200!! Then I've had to come home and move everything around for the new suite that is about to be delivered (that's where £150 of it went) and I cannot get the 3 seater out of the living room on my own, It is currently sitting in the doorway so I can't get out without climbing over it. I'm hoping the guy bringing the suite will give me a hand with it.

The new one is lovely though, a 3 seater and 2 seater all in cream cord with lovely plump cushions to go with it, it was from Harveys and is only 4 months old.

Still I did get enough meat to fill the freezer for £40, 6lb of cooking apples for £2, loads more fruit and veg and a preserving pan for £2. plus I also found an enamel pie plate for 20p.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250
  • Well my day got off to a bad start. We slept in and had 15 mins to get ready for playgroup. I then went straight to tescos and spent too much. ( my bank will have a hissy fit):o and I am now surrounded by bags that need to be unpacked and put away.

Moggins:rotfl: :rotfl: I have visions of you dressed for scaling the north face of the Eiger, climbing over your sofa:rotfl: Sounds like you got a great bargain there though, I am pleased for you. Oh and glad you're back love

To each and every one of you. Hello!!! and have a great day, what's left of it anyway.:D
  • Well, my morning off, I've done the princly amount of putting a load through the WM, dealt with the post and online banking (pleased because i won't be on the breadline before payday this month because of better balancing) and put away the washing up.

I had a midwife appointment. The baby is head down and 4/5 engaged, although the bad news is the midwife doesn't think it will be a small baby. I am hoping he is not going to be too much longer in that case. ;) It was a really nice appointment as there was a student midwife and the midwife was explaining things to her, so we felt we had learnt more as well. It meant it was a longer appointment. It was funny seeing how excited they got as i walked in as i was their first big lady of the day.

We treated ourselves to hot pork, stuffing and apple sauce sarnies for lunch from the bacon shop, yum. I think i should probably tackle some school work next as i am getting no-where quickly, and i have a great big list to finish.

I'm amusing myself at the moment with fred the cat, asleep on my new mongolian fur cushion, as they are both so furry, and i can't tell where the cat ends and the cushion begins as he is so campouflaged. I'll have to make sure no-one sits on him by mistake. :rotfl:

Happy birthday skystar, and hope you have a good hol Roz as you deserve it.

    See y'all later,
    Michelle, xx

  • Did you say a cream suite Moggins  I had cream covers on my sofas- not a good idea with kids. Still £150 what a bargain :D

Well, I've got some biscuits in the oven and I've done a freezer inventory and discovered a nearly full bag of oven chips and a few fish fingers lurking in the depths -always useful for kids' fussy friends. So lucky kids can have those with peas and sweetcorn, and me and OH can have the tub of chickpea stew I also discovered in the freezer on a jacket potato. Brilliant,a no cook evening :j

    Hi everyone!
I've barely been in since Sunday [when I lurked!] and blimey it's all been happening here hasn't it!! Hopefully things are resolving themselves now. I know the daily thread is a source of inspiration/ support for many [or perspiration in my case....I simply had to get down on my hands and knees last night with my stardrops and microfibre cloth and clean my floors. Why?!! Very pleased with the result though!!]
Minor oldstyling today. Have just gone out and bought loads of herbs and spices for my seasoning I'm making tomorrow. Was very pleased because got a free bottle of bath oil from baldwins yesterday with my herb order.
I've tidied the house and will reconcile the accounts tonight. OH is making HM burgers for tea. He's just rung to say he's been featured in one of the dollshouse mags again....we didn't have a clue. What are we like honestly but that would explain the increase in enquiries I suppose:rotfl: :rotfl:
    Have a faberoony day!

    Hi everyone!

Have had a busy day so this is my first chance to get on the pc and see what everyone has been up to!

I woke up early with a killer headache got up made kids packed lunches and asked hubby to take kids to school and went bak to bed, then I got up and got on with it once my head felt better....

I have put away one lot of washing, another lot has gone out on line. I have cleaned undersink cupboard and emptied the bin. I have made a massive amount of mince and veg and that is in the slow cooker. I have also made really easy homemade chicken nuggets with left over chicken,as recommended by work mate yesterday. I have just returned from helping out at son's school for 1.5 hours and have had lunch (smoked salmon tesco's value cream cheese on granary roll!) whilst I read this thread!

A bit more de cluttering to do and finsh cleaning loos I started earlier then it'll be the school run, swimming then home for tea!!

Feel much better today and have achieved more OS things so thanks everyone!

a mum mounted the pavement behind us and drove along parking on the pavement!! she was oblivious to the fact children were using the pavement

 How do people get away with behaving like that! If I was to so much park on double yellow lines you can guarantee a traffic warden would appear! It sounds as though the head teacher needs a word with her rather than a letter that she might not read. This sort of thing really annoys me! What arrogance!
  • A lot of headaches around today, I think Aussielass and Wishingonastar said they had bad ones too.

Furrypig, I'm intrigued by your chicken nuggets with leftover chicken. I always use raw chicken, so how do you do it with cooked, do you mince it up with other things ?
