    Hello everyone

Seem to have got a lot done already today (considering I don't usually get up until about now!!!!) WM was on overnight so that load has been emptied and put on the airer whilst another load goes in. When that's done I'm going to break OS rules and put everything that can be TD'd in the TD as I want everything to be done and put away before this afternoon!!

Have also cleaned and tidied the whole flat - it was in a right state so am quite proud!!

The reason for my efficiency? I'm going on holiday to Spain tonight :j :j :j Quite excited about it now, although for various resons I hadn't really been looking forward to leaving OH for a week (especially this week). Need to leave at 3 to catch a train to my parents at 4... then will get a few hours sleep there but will have to be up very early as we have to be at Liverpool (John Lennon) Airport for 4.30am   so will need to leave about 3am  I'm usually just rolling in at about then ;):D

Need to use up some veg in the fridge so will whip up a soup before I go and freeze it. Have left OH several frozen chicken breasts, a few jars of sauce, a few pizzas and a few jacket potatoes, along with instructions on how to cook them! Hope he'll be OK... his mum only lives in Rotherham though so it's not far for him to go if he gets hungry :rotfl:

I am so so happy that it is grey and miserable here today as I have sneaked a look at the weather forecast where we are going and it is between 27 and 30 degrees for the whole time we're there :D

Right best get off now - seem to still have a lot to do! :grouphug: to all in need...

    I'll send you all a postcard ;)

ps. Quick thanks to Gingham for her 3 bean chilli recipe - we had it last night and it was delicious!! Even OH said it was one of my best creations ever :o (didn't tell him where I got it from) :o But does anybody know how to get passata out of a white cotton top? I had a splashing accident  and washing immediately doesn't seem to have got it out
  • Morning All

Just in office updating banks etc. Got another nice day planned today as going out to lunch with a friend who has got loads of gossip apparantly so that should be fun.

Will put some washing out on line in a min and a load of towells on. When get back from lunch will do the ironing and some housework but am planning on doing a mammoth housework session tomm. Dont like doing it that way but I really need to get on top of things before I can get in a better routine.

DD has got a bit behind with her homework so have promised will help her afterschool to catch up. We are also going to clean her bedroom together - a job I hate doing!

J Pots for tea. Will then work out menus till monday. Have only a little left in the grocery budget this month and have friends round on sunday and really wanted to stay in budget.

Off now hope you all have a great day - especially Skystar - Happy Birthday:beer:

    Have a great time Roz_V

I'm sitting here posting to OS while my first go at a fat-free Bara Brith incinerates itself in the oven. Well, that's what it smells like its doing, anyway! I've had a peep and I think its just a couple of raisins on top that have decided to burn to a crisp - at least, I hope that's all it is! I've turned the fan off, reduced the heat and made it bottom-only instead of top and bottom and put a baking sheet underneath it to shield its bottom from the worst of the heat in the hope of preventing its bottom from burning - but it still smells worryingly smoky! I debated putting a silver foil hat on it, but I don't want to stop it from releasing its steam or we'll end up with a porridgey middle.

Still haven't done the "vac up". :o

Jobs for today include : take rubbish to the dump; go to Tesco for Gusto dog food; vac upstairs; make Bara Brith; treat a carpet stain (the dog with the dodgy bottom - there's still a slight discolouration on the carpet); get a parcel from the Post Office; make two Doc's appts; get the WM on; do a heap of dishes from last night; update Ebay and last but not least, ring my Mum because she had an operation on her hand on Monday. Makes me wonder what I'm doing, sitting here!

    Meals today are :
B - Shredded Wheat (DS experienced these for the first time, this morning, and declared "this breakfast I am eating, is made from straw!".) :rotfl:
L - Jacket spud and tinned tuna
D - Sausages & beans for the boys, Pork chop & veg for me with mash.

Haven't read the thread yet - so I'll probably be back later! Hugs all round!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

  • Tea was a success :D and all plates licked clean. Well not quite but YKWIM.
Photo's that I took today turned out well so I will have a fiddle with them later on. House is on tonight so plans are to veg out and watch that.

Bgn Rzl PP is no longer posting in the daily thread. I just read it in the other thread.

Happy Birthday Skystar. :) Nearly forgot.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

been in to ds2 school this morning taking him in a mum mounted the pavement behind us and drove along parking on the pavement!! she was oblivious to the fact children were using the pavement (hopefully a letter will be going out tonight) wasnt brave enough to put her in her place there and then as shes got 'a bit of a gob' on her at the best of times and didnt want my ds to witness one of her outbursts.

    Morning,

Up late today.. no work to go to... as once again im unemployed!! Yup i only started the job at the end of July?? I "had to resign" yesterday due to illness again. (Thats 3 jobs in 12 months ive had to leave one way or another due to sickness) :( So its back to scrimping and saving and trying to manage on thin air again

Just going to update my CV and head off into town to a job fair for xmas jobs, then i have to come home and sew on my badges as i have scouts tonight. Oh and make a rolf hariss/kylie cd as were doing an Australian themed night.. :rotfl:

Will hopefully make something fabulous for tea but im unsure as to what were having yet as OH is feeling "really sick and tired" (man flu!!)... and im out at 7pm. Would like to cook something good as we havent eaten a home cooked meal together for ages as one of seems to always be out, or OH wont be hungry (has a problem with his metabolism) and last night we went for a meal for my birthday and then night before we had takeaway! :o :rotfl:

This house needs tackling too.. while i was working fulll time the place has become like a rubbish tip!! :o Might have to tackle that tomorrow though...

    Morning All,
    "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SKYSTAR!!!"
    :bdaycake:

Funny old day today, was sunny this morning with a very hot breeze, has clouded over now but still warm, apparently the breeze is the remnants of Hurricane George. Should be warm & sunny remainder of the week too.:T

Have lunch with work colleagues too. It is trainees birthday and we are meeting a colleague who is off on long term sick, so should be nice.

Had to treat DD for headlice last night, am getting so sick of this. I check her daily so found only one and no eggs, he was actually crawling down her forehead towards her eyes!! Maybe the repellent spray was working and he was trying to get away. ;)

Had Parents Eve last night, was excellent for both (proud mummy) and asked DD's teacher how the school would feel about girls wearing headscarves as this would stop a lot of the headlice being transferred by head to head contact. Don't think they'll go for it, health and safety rubbish probably but we'll see.

Made bread last night and dinner tonight is Salad Nicoise, kids will have nursery teas as it's football tonight so something quick and easy needed. Two loads of washing to do later as per usual, where does it all come from!! Will be done this evening as am at work as per. Need to pop casserole in slowcooker for tommorrows dinner too.

    Have a lovely day all.
