    Hi sammy kaye :hello:

Outside it's looking quite miserable, but I've got a t-shirt on. Refusing to put another jumper on yet as it's still (supposedly) summer!

Welcome to Old Style........  (homemade beer, obviously :D)

  • (((((hugs))))) Hester. Re the tax situation, surely the repayment of tax would be down to the (ex) employer  If you've got proof that it's been stopped from your OH's wages, ie payslips and bank statements then the IR can see that you've paid it and the employer hasn't paid his tax NI contributions and therefore the blame wouldn't lie with you. Good luck anyway.

I agree with everyone it is freezing  I am refusing to put on my heating until October - so my trusty XL fleece is being well worn at the mo :D

The smell of my roast chicken is wafting up the stairs - it smells delish (for a change I put sliced onion, garlic cloves and white wine in the roasting tin and covered the chicken with foil - so I can make a delish gravy with the left over juices) Only problem is with the wine bottle open, I just had to have a glass :D

Went to Clarks today at Bicester Village (the outlet centre - shoes are roughly £18 per pair as opposed to £30 in normal Clarks) anyway it was pandemonium (sp?) when we got there I took ticket no 30 - they were currently serving no 12 :rotfl: DD got measured then they brought all shoes in her size - none of them fit  Had to go to Clarks in town  again none of them fit - soooo DD goes back to school on Wednesday and she has no shoes  Hopefully I can persuade DH to take us to Aylesbury tomorrow (where hopefully Clarks will be open) and they will have some in her size  On the plus side I managed to get her some shorts for PE from Adams for £4 - so apart from shoes - all done :D

Have a great night everyone ((((hugs))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

I haven't heard about it _pale_ _pale_ but our last head was dire, so I'll find out about it on Monday - our first training day with the new "Acting" Head... she's already pretending that she's the full time head.

I got a text from a member of the Senior Management Team yesterday, who had been in a meeting all day with the new Acting (as of yesterday!) Head. Apparently she's already changed alot of things for next term - where children are going to be, who is going to teach what. I'm a little worried, especially as we'll probably be having an HMI inspection the following week _pale_

thinking about it,NQTs don't have to do it in our school, so sorry for worrying you. You basically have to set yourself targets at the beginning of the year, and then have a meeting on the first day back to discuss your progress on those targets, and then set some new ones. It's probably similar to your career entry profile, if primary peeps do those. It's taken me at least 3 hours today for me to write my 4 page report. usually i'm a bit more organised and try and do bits as i go along, as some of it is dead easy, like what courses have you been on, and how did it improve your teaching.

sounds like you are going to be in for fun on monday. i don't know why a new head feels the need to change so much. I wouldn't worry too much about an inspection the first couple of weeks back. Our first one after going into category (early May) was in November, then February, then July. We are expecting that we will get one in OCtober/November time again.

sammy-kaye it's cold and wet here too, and that is from me who is 7 months pregnant and feeling hot most of the time. I just braved downstairs and found DH and FIL have all the doors open. Brrrr. FIL in particular is awful at opening all windows and doors while i sit and freeze. Can't moan though as they are doing DIY and i am just sat on my big fat butt. where is the summer? Actually i bet it gets red hot again next week because i will be back in work, as it was the start of the 6 week hols when it got so cool.

    Michelle, xx

    (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS ))))))))))))))))))))) Hester.

I really do not have any suggestions for you, but hope you can find a way through. I have had moments like that too when we have not had enough to last us to the next pay day.... thank fully for us those days are coming to the end.....we are comfortable now, although we no longer own our own house....we are both retired which does make things a little easier........

    Please take care.....................

    Afternoon all.

Went out to Lidl this afternoon and stocked up on mozzarella - well what else am I supposed to do on a wet saturday afternoon?:D

Plasterer was in plastering (funnily enough). Soon the bit under the stairs will be a usable space with lots of Anthea baskets, rather than the dumping ground it was before. I used to chuck stuff in and pray I wouldn't have to look for anything -it was awful.:o :o

Kids are happy 'cos we had meatballs and pasta for tea - if it were up to them they'd eat them breakfast lunch and dinner EVERY day.

Here's hoping it stops raining soon.

ooooohhh! Just noticed I got my first star! wahey. Bottle of wine tonight to celebrate (well, I was going to have one anyway - share with DH, not all to myself unfortunately - this way I have a reason to celebrate):T :T :T
