with me should have been something in the water 20 yrs ago lol.. this is more of a life changing thing we have to do.. ive printed off some menus and trying to adapt them to what i like.. cant stick mushrooms but they seem to be in everything.. oh likes them so i put them in whole and give them to him hee hee then he can chop them down if he wants..

We are having chicken tonight with rice and salad and im looking at making my own dressings for the salad etc.. im going to try a lot of the recipes on this board and also from other people on diets as i need the help lol
Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
    Are thinking of you today.
  • Jockettuk : you and me both with the life changing thing! :) As for the mushrooms, we do that for DS as he hates them! OH tried chopping them very finely and putting them in casseroles or bolognese etc., but he knew and began to scrutinise his dinner minutely, picking out anything that looked even remotely like a crumb of mushroom. So we took pity on him and now put them in whole, so that he can avoid them more easily!

We've got chicken tonight as well. I did it in the SC and dismembered it last night, so now its languishing in a bath of gravy in the oven with the roasties. I put all my roasties in a bowl while they are still raw, then put a teaspoon or two of oil over them and give them a good old mix around with the oil and a clove of crushed garlic. Tip it out into the roasting tray, into the oven for 20-30 mins and bingo - low fat (only 2g for two tsp oil) roasties that taste glamorously mediterranean. :D

We'll have to alert each other when we find a good recipe that has great results!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

Went to tesco this afternoon and they had *lots* of £1 boxes out. I had to tell myself (very sternly!) that no, I did not need any more mugs (2 for £1); ramekins (2 in pack); spatulas; travel size bottles etc. They had some really great stuff though - I got a torch last time they did the £1 boxes, and its great. Also had lots of little bits that could do for - dare I say it - christmas presents, like candles and bud vases etc. As we took the trip to tesco we didn't get to go to the gift shop up the road to look at decorations, so that's been put off till tomorrow.

Still haven't decided what I'm making for tea today - must have a hunt through the freezer and see what's quick and easy to make. I've done some house clearing so got some bags of rubbish to be put out, but will have to get them to the dump as the bin is full and it doesn't get emptied till tuesday, so thats another job for tomorrow I think. I'm getting there!

    Good afternoon everyone,

joannasmum - hope your personal items are still in the car!!!!

Well, football was good this morning, DSs team didnt play too well, but they still won 3 - 0, and DS scored the first goal!!!! We then went to KFC for lunch, and then into Plymouth to get the rest of the stuff we need for his party tomorrow. Before we went to Tesco, stopped in PC World and treated myself to a web cam, and a cordless mouse with one of those little wheel things in the middle (im so into my computer terms!!!!) now DD is happy, as she has my mums old computer in her room and didnt have a mouse, so she has my old one, and im really happy cos i have the new fancy mouse and web cam, just waiting to find someone to log on so i can try it out!!!!!
Ive already cooked the sausages and sausage rolls for tomorrow, will just need to make the sandwiches in the morning.
Right, need to go and pick in my washing, hope everyone has a lovely evening
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hello everyone

I know I started this thread complaining about lack of sleep. Well the coin is on its flip side now as I've been snoring my head off almost all day. I did get up for a few hours, managed a bit of floor sweeping and kitchen cleaning, but I was overwhelmingly tired - had a can of Red Bull to try and keep me going but promptly conked out. That is a v.v.weird and decidedly annoying sleeping pattern I have. Today is a glorious day, really beautiful sunshine, and I missed it. Have read some posts and so many have achieved so much - I have achieved nothing. What a waste of space I am.
Poshpaws and JockettUK - best of luck with what you are doing. It really is a life changing venture you're embarking on, and the consequence will be a happier and healthier body each. Take it easy, you are still entitled to enjoy life along the way.

Kaz - how did you get on with the fence today?

Think I need a cup of Ticklemouse coffee - can't believe how much you get done Ticklemouse! You sound like a human whirlwind.

Tootles, congratulations about the flat. Don't go torturing yourself about your garden. It's heart breaking to think it may go unloved I know. Try to think of it as a gift to the wildlife which will thrive in it - then focus on what you can do and can have in your new place.

Joannasmum - how did you get on with your car? Is it salvageable/fixable?
Right, I'm going to try and get something done now...

  • Was I dreaming, or did somebody on yesterday's daily thread talk about starting a Mystic thread? Did it happen? If so, where? If not, why? I've had a scout about and can't see anything that fits the description, but it sounded like so much fun that I've been hoping it would appear!

    Hello everyone

I have slightly redeemed myself from my day of slovenly lazing about. I've used up a punnet of yellow plums and made them into plum jam. Somebody on another thread said that plum jam can be a bit boring/bland so I perked it up by adding about a thumb size of grated ginger. It's gorgeous, v.yummy indeed. Good enough to give to mother SnowyOwl even...

Will spend a couple of hours this evening doing some housework. The house is a tip, I live alone, I have no excuse. What a saddo Saturday night.

  • I'm so glad that this thread is only 3 pages today.

Its been knackering me out reading all the replies to the OS thread recently. Im pretty sure Squeaky used to tell us off if we got too chatty on the board and move us over to the discussion bit!

Anyway....4 washloads done, DW is on and everywhere is pretty clean and tidy. OH put up other blind in the kitchen and has done some clearing of the back garden.

Our friends wedding list at JL opened today so bought them a slow cooker:D.. used £30 of vouchers Id earned from Pigsback, so didnt cost anything! They had some lovely stuff and varied in price from £5-£150, which I thought was pretty humble!

Have to buy DD an outfit to do 2 weddings, one week after another:rolleyes: ...any ideas anyone? She would like a suit, but am unsure where to actually look. I bought a Wallis skirt off Ebay last week...its white with red flowers all over and just need a smart red shirt/blouse to go with it...cost £4;) ...may even have something to go with it. Would like a trouser suit for the other wedding, but again dont have a clue......any ideas??? Dont have alot of money, but mum has offered to buy one for me so that I can wear again. I like the idea of white, but think I may be too pale to carry this off. Im 5 foot 10 and a size 10/12...I like the boot cut style but want it fitted IYSWIM...again..any ideas? Hubby has a few suits, so he's fine and is being bought the shirt and tie to match the wedding party. Weddings are so expensive!

Made some stock in the SC today with the left over chicken from yesterday and has turned out ok. Freezing is ok...isnt it:confused:

Anyway, I have to go and have me cocoa:rotfl:

    Hugs to all.
