Where has the day gone? I'll tell you :D I've been busy in my kitchen.

To save me typing it all out again I'm going quote what I've put on another site:
Well I've had enough. icon_twisted.gif I keep my belongings, and most of my daughters, in check BUT general household and OH's stuff is getting out of control icon_redface.gif

We usually sell things on ebay that we no longer want. This weekend I'm going through the boxes - anything that hasn't sold or won't sell or is just too big to easily post (I'm thinking of a blind I bought on clearance and when I got it home it just was not suitable at all icon_rolleyes.gif I tried selling it on ebay twice and it hasn't sold!) are going OUT. I don't care if its to the dump, in our bin, or to a charity shop. The only things I am keeping back to sell are CD's DVD's and the like icon_wink.gif I'll list these soon and get them out of the house.

I've just decluttered our kitchen. It's not finished as I would like to get rid of a few more things but I'm not sure whether I use them or not during the winter icon_rolleyes.gif Plus there's a couple of things I would like to get rid of but OH probably won't icon_rolleyes.gif

I decluttered my daughters room on Monday and once I've gone through her toys with her (she doesn't have that many anyway, some are just a little babyish for her or she never seems to play with them) and her books which she's got in the livingroom she'll be done. I've already been through her clothes on my own icon_wink.gif

Now there's just OH to deal with icon_mad.gif I think it may be ultimatum time - either he goes through his stuff this weekend or I go through it and pitch what I think should go icon_lol.gif I think that might just motivate him enough.

I want to completely declutter my house as much as possible so I can get it repainted in time for Christmas.

My kitchen is...wait for it.....98% clutter free :j I think I use everything that is in the kitchen now :D I put out a bin bag of general rubbish stuff (did help that I knocked a set of dishes off the side and smashed some of them :o ), couple of things that I found were broken, and the biggest mistake of all : I pulled out a cardboard box of spare tiles the landlady had left here (kept under the sink) and as I went to pick them up the bottom went on the box, I made a grab for them but ended up smashing the whole box as the kitchen floor is concrete :o:o:o I guess today was my day to declutter. I think I'll stay away from the glasses and windows though :rotfl:I have another bin bag which is half full of stuff (will probably end up full by the end of the day ;) ) and I'm now pretty chuffed with myself. It used to take me two days or at least 8 hours of hard graft to declutter the kitchen in our old house - 2 hours here and its done :j

Right, my lunch has finished and I still have to wash dishes and clean the kitchen floor properly so I best be off...especially as my timer has just gone off again

For anybody who wants to cut down there shopping bill I recomend this method.

    1. Take bus to the local town with a toddler in tow and take toddler swimming. (so you have a nice big bag stuffed with swimming stuff).
    2. When your knackered from the swimming go to local supermarket.
    3. Think carefully about purchase as you need to get them home on the handles of cheap buggy thats wheel keeps coming off.
    4. Return to bus stop with buggy ladden down with bags and nearly got knocked over in the rush to get on bus.
    5. Get sworn at by driver under his breath for taking to long to get on bus.
    6. Get off bus and trudge home completely done in and put shopping away.

    Afternoon everyone.

Not been on for a couple of days - but have been reading and keeping an eye on what everyone's up to.

I agree about the craft things - I knit Aran jumpers - no-one's prepared to pay for the time I spend doing it. I don't know how anyone makes money - I see handknitted stuff in shops and the price is really low for the time involved.

Just made a major mistake with the meal plan. Dragged kids out and bought the week's shopping, then realised DH is away from sunday lunchtime 'til wednesday evening. Roast chicken on sunday for me and two tiny appetites? I'll have to do some rearranging else it'll all end up in the bin.

I'm getting closer to the slow cooker purchase. Debenhams have the tefal 3in1 reduced so thinking about that one 'cos I can't cook rice.

Off to the slow cooker thread  before I have to wake DD up so we can collect DS from school.

  • Afternoon - it is so lovely to be sat here and be fully up to date with the thread. :D

Thanks for best wishes and advice this morning. Seems like some of you know what i mean. I am trying to take it semi-easy on myself, but i don't want to start maternity leave and still have loads of deep cleaning and decluttering to do. DH has been an absolute star doing most things, but my point was i am capable of putting the effort in at home or at work at the moment, and i'm afraid home won today. Once that maternity leave starts, the house will be sorted so i can just spend a small part of the day keeping on top of it IYSWIM.

Doddsy - sounds like you know exactly what i meant, although it isn't necessarily one person at my work place, just an accumulation of lots of people and a lack of communication about what i am supposed to be doing at the minute.

    welcome to shanes angel.

nikki - had to have a bit of a chuckle. I agree you should stay away from everything else that is breakable today.

I've had a good mooch around the house and MSE today so i feel so much better.

My sister is coming to stop with me tomorrow night to have a break from the kids and keep me company. I promise i will have my feet up then. And then we are going to go to a wedding fayre together on Sunday, so that should be an enjoyable girly treat. :j

    Have fun this afternoon.

    Afternoon everyone.

Absolutely worn out after taking the parents shopping. I had to wear different boots as my old ones have come apart and my feet hurt. I really just want to go to sleep but I still have so much to do.

Welcome to OS Shane's Angel :D
Queenie - you are so right about the new meaning of OS - and I think I'm probably one of the guiltiest of the lot! I did manage to do quite a bit of ironing tho - ironed until 12:30, had lunch and fell asleep.
I've decided to take some ibuprofen because although I'm not in any real pain, I am aching quite a bit, and I think it's time this temp came down. Have drunk LOADS today again, a pint of water to every cuppa.
Kitchen is quite tidy, though floor needs a wash. I think I'll do a small bbq for dinner to use up the finger rolls and make the most of the weather - plus I don't think I could handle standing in front of the cooker! (BBQ is gas and in fresh air - cooker is in a windowless kitchen)
Fresh load on the line, another in basket waiting to be hung.
Right, best dart and collect the boys (and more dirty shirts clothes I expect, lol)

    Hi everybody

Have done sweet butt all today, unlike so many of you. Joannasmum... ew that journey sounds dreadful! I hope you get sorted out with some wheels soon. I live in a fairly isolated place, and even for me on my own without toddler and swimming gear life without a car would be awful. So big sympathy hug to you.

Peem - I believe it's OK to freeze cooked chicken - even if the chicken was frozen when raw, after it is cooked it's OK to freeze again. You could chuck it in a pie or something for when your OH is back.

Shez...mmmm, a Flake. I could do with a Flake, preferably a six foot long one...yummy!

I've been to the doc again - it was my usual GP, back from wherever she was last time I went. I've been signed off for another two weeks. I am so grateful for that, was getting into a panic about possibly having to go to the orifice on Monday. Am trying to get rational about work but I hate the place, just want to cry when I think of it. I phoned work to tell them I'm off for two weeks...even just phoning the damn place made me want to cry.

It's a beautiful day here, think I should go for a nice long walk in the sunshine. Apparently the sun on your bare skin generates lots of VitD production which is also good at relieving depression. Flylady can go and jump, I can't be bothered.

    See you all later.
