:hello: Gooood Morning, OS’ers
I no longer mean Old Stylers when I use OS … you’ve all now become Old Sidetrackers!Got so little done yesterday that I had to work twice as fast this morning and I was still only half as efficient :rotfl:
B: Weetabix and banana
L: Tuna and bean salad stuffed pitta’s, apple and crumblyStuffed sweet potato jackets and roasted veggies; semolina pudding with apricot fruit puree.
Ooookay, so far today, have a gingerbread cake in the BM (can’t use the oven, the gas has been turned off while they do the pipes).
Vacuumed the downstairs, decluttered the surfaces in the utility room, put through a whites wash load (perfect drying weather so far, breezey but dry).
I’ve sorted through some old magazines for a friend who is interested in that particular topic (it will take her mind off her radiotherapy too, so bonus!), so they are bagged up, together with some freebie energy efficient light bulbs. Just got to put them into the boot of the car for when we next pop over or I’ll forget.
Had a little play with the EagerLearners spending/savings program which I’m tweaking the headings of to suit my pin money savings. It’s a nice little challenge
Twink: I’m pleased you enjoyed those sayings/poemsHave a good day at work
Scuzz: Great news that you were able to leave work and still take advantage of the free meal! :j Hope you’ve planned some pampering ‘me’ time for your 7 days off, you’ve certainly earned it!!
Kaz - hope your temperature comes down ((hugs)) I’d never dream of tackling ironing if I were running a temperature (being hot enough already) Hope you don’t over stretch yourself. Maybe tackle the paperwork first and the ironing can be just essentials?
Kiwi chick - good luck with your driving lesson tomorrow! Make sure you make an official appointment with *yourself* so that you do get your ‘me’ time! Hope all goes well with the builders.
Ageandjo - Don’t give up, it will all fall into place ((hugs))
Good for you, booking that week off sounds like it’s definitely needed to give you some space to think and chill!
Pen Pen - enjoy your latte and danishOooh, what are you Freecycling? Hope you’re getting something wonderful

Elona - good luck with your book sales. Enjoy your mini rebellion and I hope you find just the right kind of treat for yourself that will restore your motivation ((hugs))
I’ve also played with I-Ching (and Runes and Angel Cards) Used to have a really beautiful pack of Tarot cards but my eldest son “borrowed” them and that was the last I saw :rotfl:

Do you sell your quilts that you make?
You could definately make money out of that carrot cake recipe! yum
![/quote]
If only, people are really not prepared to pay the cost, a lap quilt would be £50 - £75 depending on size..... a full size bed quilt, which I do not do anymore could be anything up to £600 for the amount of work that goes into them.........so really I just make them for friends and for ourselves. My quilting friend has around 100 quilts of various sizes which are packed up in her attic.......she has sold a few but not that many really.
It really does not matter what craft you do, people want to pay nowt for it... which is to say the least, dispiriting.........

I agree! Years ago, I used to book stalls at craft fairs to sell my hobby crafts. Lots of people wanted HM Crafts, but they didn't want to pay much more than what it would have cost in materials alone! People admired them greatly, but didn't want to buy. I got my head around it by respecting the fact that giving them as HM gifts brought far more pleasure (and appreciation) then trying to sell them; both to me and the recipients.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all!
Bit blue this morning - had a barney with DH over dinner last night. He came in tired and cross from a meeting, I'd been at home slaving away over beetroot soup, foccacia and apple tart, we sit down for dinner and he announces that the beetroot soup is inedible. I got very cross and although we sorted it out I really can't be bothered with anything today and didn't get up until 9.30am. And what is totally unlike me, is that having DH not like my food has really taken the wind out of my cooking sails - I usually love cooking and pottering around in the kitchen, but today I don't even want to think about it. As a result, the kitchen is a mess (washing up didn't get done last night) and I'm feeling like an unpaid domestic skivvy - although I'm at home at the moment, I am supposed to be writing up my thesis:rolleyes:
Anyway, have a good day everyone and sorry about the moan! I forsee lots of mooching and cups of tea in mine :rotfl:0 -
Hiya - thanks to Queenie and ronanfan for the welcome!! :hello:
Wish I had finished my ironing!!Oh well, better get back to it.
Hope everyone has a great day!!!0 -
Aww, seraphina!!! ((hugs)) Give yourself a bit of nurturing today! Take comfort in your own words ...I usually love cooking and pottering around in the kitchen
Hope tonight is a better one for you.
ronanfan - Ooooh :j :j have great fun this evening :j :j If you want to avoid any 'battles' with the children over the rides, either give them the money you have allocated so they can choose which one's they go on and when it's gone, it's gone! Or, if they are too young for that, give them the equivalent in buttons ie: 1 green button = 1 £2.50 ride Once the buttons are used up - no more rides. Either way, have a lovely time
Well, "Joe" and his fitter are still faffing around trying to pull pipes through the inside of other pipesLots of knocks, bangs, wheezy noises and "Blast its!" ...
... I'm keeping a low profile. I hope they aren't going to take forever, I really do need to get some shopping done! *sigh*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi there everyone
Tootles - try looking in your local free ads as there are many bargain caravans to be had. A friend of mine in Derby bought a 4 berth van with new awning for £200. It has a bit of delamination on the floor but a local rapair shop quoted only £100 to sort it. It is an older caravan, about 15 years old but it is lovely and it does the job! They even got a snakemaster thrown in!
We are thinking of selling the house so we are currently finishing jobs around the house. The new bed for the spare room arrived yesterday. We have got it so we can show it as a proper double bedroom and not a single bedroom / dumping ground!
Started my christmas shopping. Ordered a personalised book for DS and a "cars" watch off ebay. They are only £12 for the pair including postage. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0
