Afternoon
Taplady - fantastic news :j :j
ageandjo - I will pray that something will turn up for you :grouphug:
Well, last night turned out expensive and rather soggy! I went to a concert in central London and a lot of my friends were there, so we went to the pub afterwards. Having finished beer no.1, we realised the rain was coming down so hard that leaving for home was not an attractive prospect, so we stayed for another couple of drinks. I got to London Bridge station aiming for my second choice of train (mine are half-hourly in the evenings, but there's one in-between on the neighbouring line which I can get a bus from) but obviously after three beers I popped into the loo first. As I was washing my hands I heard a train come in to the platform, at the time I was expecting, so I shook my hands dry and got on the train. Of course I didn't realise it wasn't the RIGHT train (it was an earlier one, delayed) until it got to Grove Park, the station beyond the point where it diverges from the train route I should have been on - and by then it was gone midnight and there were no more trains the other way  I only had £10 in my purse and the cash machine at the station wasn't working, so a cab wasn't an option, and it was chucking it down again! I ended up getting on a bus which went all round-the-houses (though I knew it was OK to get it because it used to be one of my local bus routes, so I knew where to get off), got off in Catford to use the cash machine, boarded a faster bus to Lewisham, and as the night-bus had just left  I went up to the taxi rank. Things started looking up from then on, as I recognised the girl in front of me in the taxi queue as the sister of somebody I know, and she was going my way, so we shared the ride and split the cost :j :j In fact it turns out that even if I hadn't got on the wrong train, I could have had trouble getting home as the trains were all over the place because of the weather
Spent the first 3.5 hours of my working day today in a really dull, frustrating meeting with the directors  and as for my conveyancing, I still don't have any evidence that the HA's solicitor can be @rsed to process my transaction
Anyway, I have had a delicious lunch and am expecting a trolley loaded with HM cakes to pull up beside my desk any moment (it's a charity fundraiser that some folks in my office have got going every Thursday at the moment) so life can't e all bad

Taplady - I'm glad to know hubby is going to be ok, and I sympathise with him (I'm in a similar position myself). Back/leg pain can be so debilitating.
Snoozer - good luck with your MRI results
Dorry - is that a blonde extension you've got there?
Catznine - rambling is just fine by me - I do it all the time...
Just found out Justin has to see a consultant next Tuesday about the pain in his neck (and I thought it was me). He does too much, so my guess is it's a muscular problem and nothing to worry about, but I am a bit worried.
Right, I'd best get outta these pj's and start on those 3 bags of grapes.
All right, all right, I'm going, don't NAG - coo you lot can't half nag :rotfl:The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Afternoon all,
Just caught up on the thread, had a really busy morning. My apprentice started this morning and whilst I know she'll be a help in the long run the first few weeks are hard going while she learns the ropes.
Hugs to Ageandjo - hope you get this house. Fingers crossed.
Jo138 - congrats on the new username!!
Shez - sorry you're down, I feel a bit like that sometimes. I love my work but if I won the lottery I would stop tommorrow to be at home and do all the things I try to squeeze into my evenings all day. Sigh............... Plus I miss the kids but they are at school all day now so I would still miss them.
Taplady - what good news, you must be so relieved.
Hugs to all others in need. Busy day at work, then rush home so DH can take my brother to the airport. Kids were up at 6.50 this morning so will need an early night (as will I).
Hopefully DH is giving all of downstairs a thorough hoovering so I can wash the floors tonight, amazing isn't it the rest of the house can be spotless but if the floors are dirty the house still looks dirty?
Sis has offered to babysit tomorrow night so we might go for a drink or something not much as it's only a week or so since our last big night out. I'm babysitting for sis Saturday.
Need to catch up on Flylady, am dreadfully behind. DH working all weekend so will catch up then.
Breakfast: Muesli
Lunch: Baked spud with beans
Dinner: Meatballs !!!!
Have a lovely day all!!
