Morning all
Not managed to catch up on any threads lately as our internet connection is still playing up.
Happy birthday Zed - hope you have a great day.
Hugs to those in need, ageandjo and Shez and the rest of you.
Just managed to transfer some of my christmas money onto my credit card, DD's want a playstation2 for christmas, it's a joint present and I've managed to win one on ebay, picked up some games for it too and am really pleased. I've also just ordered my Dads 60th present, a new mobile phone, gone halves with my sister but have gone through quidco for a good deal.
DD's started a dance class last week, it's in the village so nice and easy to get them there and back, they go again tonight and I need to pay for the entire term  but it's the first thing they've ever wanted to do so I won't complain.
One little one here today - he's having a nap so I'm making the most of the internet being on while I can.
I'm feeling a bit down today too, I shall blame the pmt, I've already broken into the cooking chocolate (yes I was that desperate for some). We went to see a mortgage advisor last week, after being turned down for the housing associations shared ownership scheme. They say we're not earning enough to buy a house and pay a mortgage yet can show that we've paid a £600 a month rent for the past 4 years without fail. The mortgage advisor said we could have "Xamount"....that wouldn't even buy us a 2 bedroom flat in the roughest area of the nearest town....am I really being too fussy there? The house that I had with my ex husband cost us £36,000, same houses are now going for £145,000 (8 years on) Wages haven't increased at the same rate though have they......makes me so angry, we'd love to not be at the mercy of a landlord but I suppose we should just be thankful that we've got a roof over our head and food on the table....rant over....ish!
Hope you all have a great day - just to make you all jealous, it's blue skies and warm here - had no rain or storms at all."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Snowy Owl, that thump you just felt was your positive vibes for the dentist!!:rotfl:

Thanks tootles thats just how we feel - he's not had the best of health -2 heart attacks and a triple byepass and he's only 44!
but its good news!!!!:j :j :j
I could kill the receptionist for telling us it was a matter of urgency when it turns out all the doc was trying to contact him for was to say that all was ok!!!!
He's worn a disk out and got sciatica but if he can struggle on using painkillers then he can manage without an operation, although he may need one if he damages it again in the future.
I cant tell you how relieved we both are. We both thought it was the Big C as we've known 2 people who had "bad backs" that turned out to be cancer.
Thankyou all so much for being behind us its meant a lot, you're all great!:TDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Forgot to say, Pen pen, I asked a couple of days ago about Hardup Hester and got no replies. I was wondering because she had been really down in her last posts, it sounded as if she and her DH were really struggling. If you're around Hester, let us know you're ok.

Taplady - we cross posted. So pleased about your news. Keep your fingers crossed that my appt next week with the cardiologist is the same (he told me he'd write with the result of my MRI because he was sure it was fine and the next I know I have an appt to see him - worrying).0 -
Welshlassie - Just read your post! FANTASTIC, we're leaving from Cardiff as well! (Just goes to show what a small world it is) What time are you planning to set off?? And more importantly have you managed to get a hotel room???

Really pleased for you Taplady:j :j :j
doddsyWe must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
