My DH says I am not allowed any more cookerybooks as the windowsill is not big enough :( I've already filled up nearly 6ft of windowsill so I suppose he's right.

Kaz are you enjoying yourself? You do sound much chirpier.

The for sale sign went up outside my friends house tonight so I am feeling quite sad, I know I'll cope without her but she's the only one around here who is like me :(

Right, just time for a visit to the loo before Anthea.

    Evening all,

not been around much recently, so not fully up to date with the threads yet - sorry! Been rather tired (and getting over the shock of the bill for fixing the car!). Lets just say expensive.....cars usually are though

Happy birthday Zed42 - hope you had a good day. :bdaycake:

*Hugs* to everyone - take or leave them as you please :)
  • Hello! DH has gone to the pub with a good friend who he's not seen properly for ages, despite the fact he lives directly opposite us. I was invited, but thought they'd like a good catch up. I'm sat in bed with a large glass of red, Bill Nighy on realplayer, and the huuuuuuge bar of dark choc toblerone DH brought back from Brussels. He asked me to "take care of it", so I'm halfway through! :EasterBun Anyone want a piece before it's all gone?

Congrats to Taplady and Tapgent! Big relief, I bet.

Thanks, Thriftlady, I love a pie!

Shez, do your children eat liver? I love it, and children did when we called it "meat" but they sussed it out about a year ago. They now are keen to eat it - they are very OS, and are already wanting to know what they can cook that's cheap for when the leave home  . They're 11 and 13 :rotfl: :rotfl:

Off to FLC III thread. I'm off w*** tomorrow, and Monday, so hope to keep up a bit more.

    .....

You need to convince him he has a back problem and that he needs to sleep on a very firm bed ... then, you stash any new cookery books *under* the mattress to make the bed firmer :D Oh the sacrifies we have to make to keep our OH's happy, healthy and (un) wise

    Nice one Queenie :D

Now I must get off to bed as I have to take the oldies shopping in the morning then come home and start flying again. I didn't honestly feel like I've done much this challenge but I'm amazed with how much better the house looks so I can't have done badly.

Thanks to everyones well wishes (and some vit c curtesy of the raisins in a fruit & nut bar ;) ) I think I might be up to the F/L challenge tomorrow. I hope so as I certainly need to get round this house like concord!

Did anyone who watched Anthea tonight notice a wee bit of Flylady creeping in again? I'd bet a lot that she's come across Flylady, or at the very least the SHE system ;)
I thought I was the worlds worst at keeping house - until I saw that big house in a mess. I'm sorry, but if I had a house THAT big and beautifully decorated, with all that storage space, even I would be tidy! Did anyone else notice the LOAD of microwave egg poachers she had in the one drawer? Surely it would be quicker to do that many eggs in a pan? One of them wasn't even out of its plastic!!! I'm sorry, I don't normally 'judge' people, but I was astounded that a home that big could get in such a mess.
But then again.... I am a real hoarder, and if I had more money then maybe I would have more stuff to hoard and so still get in a mess????
Mind, it was nothing compared to 'how clean is your house' last night - that had me in tears. I just wanted to give that poor lady a great big hug. Anyone else see it?

I missed it because DH wnted to watch something else (sigh)

Regarding the book about pie making - I've posted a thread about my fruitless visit to Lakeland in search of a pie-tin . Apparently "Nobody makes pies any more!"

taplady - so pleased to hear the good news.:T

Penny-Pincher - glad DD is starting to settle in at her new school - I hope Queenie's DS2 and the others who've just moved/started school are okay too! :D Good luck about the new treatment too!

Big (((((((hugs))))))) to everyone who's ill and/or fed up at the moment!

May not have time to get on pc tomorrow as have to pack for holiday, see both DDs and their families, remember to post cards for friends and family whose birthdays are while we're away (which reminds me, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZED421!) so will say cheerio now just in case - I'll really miss reading all your posts!
