snowy - thanks, yes like you said - i know im not as slim as i was in my 20's, so i do wonder if its carrying a bit "extra" weight that is doing it?
I usually have cool showers (i used to love hot baths, but now i dont get time to soak!) but after i have blow dried my hair im sweating! if i have a cuppa tea i start feeling hot, and when ive walked to the station in the morning im sweating - its quite embarrassing i sit on the train constantly wiping my face/back of neck with a tissue !!!! I havent put on moisturiser for weeks now cos it would slide off!
When i get to work and sit down (albeit the office is aircon) i am fine now and cooled down!
moggins - I havent noticed any change in periods yet, get the usual PMT symptoms - but this sweating is getting on my nerves!
beachbeth - no i dont get sweats in the night, usually during the day if im doing something i seem to sweat more now than i ever used to - i was never a sweaty person!
Im not sure what Hot Flushes are, i used to think you got hot/sweaty for awhile then it passed??
If it is the menopause thats just great - cos im just getting over post-natal depression!!!! Oh the joys of being a women eh!!!:rotfl:0 -
SnowyOwl wrote:Roz_V - would it be possible for you to book a new flight to your holiday destination and join your family a few days later than planned? Your BF is v.kind insisting you should go - you've got a good catch there. If you're comfortable to let him make the decision for you to go on the holiday then do it. He will have the rest of his family around him and you can call him every day. I'm sorry that you and he are having to go through this horrible time.
It's a walking holiday so wouldn't really be able to "catch up" with them if I flew out later IYSWIM... The plan is/was to fly to Granada, catch a bus to the top of the Sierra Nevada mountains, and walk back down over 3 days (staying in hotels/guesthouses along the way, not camping thank goodness!!) then have a few days in Granada before flying back, so if I were to fly out even a day later, I'd be a day or so behind and wouldn't catch them up!!!!It would be easier if I could solve it by flying later, but it is unfortunately a go or stay decision
To be honest, I might be stressing about nothing - we don't even know when the funeral will be yet and as I don't go for another 7 days, it may all be over with by then. I'm not hopeful though as when I lost both of my grandfathers, it was 10 days until the funeral0 -

Finances need a bit of reorganising - FIL has offered me his motorbike at a fraction of the cost it's worth - I've had a bike licence for ages but haven't had one for a while since I've been paying for a train ticket to get me to work in London. I have a new job that starts much closer to home and a motorbike is an ideal way to get there, we just couldn't figure out how to raise the cash to get me one! Darling father in law has solved all those problems with a stroke - it means probably a bit less paid of the cc's next month to give him the cash but in the long run it will be much cheaper than getting the train or driving! Very excited - and also a bit nervous now! DH has been riding bikes for most of his life and will be sheperding me around for the first few weeks though.
motorbike very OS! Cheap to run and you get a big grin each time you go out!! I ride as much as I can, though not always practical. Off to Scotland soon on bike hols!1 Hope it's not as wet as last year :eek:Everything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -
Hi again guys!
I have some brilliant news.....one of my consultants at Kings College has emailed me and said "I want to discuss with you a new treatment that Mr P**** and I believe may be appropriate for patients such as yourself.":D:T  :j
.....I am so happy.
Also my mate has just returned from the states and dropped off the stuff he got me whilst over there. Oreo pop tarts x 3, Cookie dough x 2 (for dd), 5 Deodrants, 2 vitamin E large body gels, Beef jerky x 2 (yuk but OK likes), A1 Steak sauces x 3, twisslers liquorice x 3, Colgate toothpaste (new one just released over there), mac & cheese boxes x 5, mach and cheese cheese sprinkles, marshmellows x 2.
I also received a free voucher for a tub of Ben & Jerrys Ice cream as I complained last week about a sandwich bar DD had bought:o
Kitchen-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....my house is a mess and i think this is getting me down as I usually like total order. I am currently eating my baked spud and watching Karate Kid 2 on sky
Hugs to al and thanks for the well wishes.......I will survive:A

Afternoon all
Not much planned today- had a flylady day yesterday but can't get motivated
Feeling like a bad mother today, for some reason I convinced myself that its Tuesday and I've forgotten DD1's PE kit & homework that was due in today
Homework at 5 years oldreading I can understand but writing a story seems a bit much for her age, anyway I'll speak to her teacher later and explain it was my fault, I hope she hasn't got told off
Penny - Pincher, I hope the new treatment works for you.If you like it, do it.
If you don't like it, do it, you might like it

Afternoon,
Happy Birthday Purpleprincess!!!!! :bdaycake:
Penny-Pincher!! - sorry you're not feeling well today, great news about the new treatment though! Every bit of optimism helps!
AussieLass - my Aussie best friend says that the vegemite treatment for mouth ulcers works by making it sting so badly that you forget about the discomfort of the original mouth ulcer :rotfl:
Roz_V - sorry to hear about OH's nana - ((((hugs)))). You never know how long it will take for a funeral. When my grandpa died on 27th December 2001, they managed to get the funeral arranged for New Year's Eve! This was really fortunate as my uncle (his youngest) who lives in the US was only in the UK on a flying visit and was due to leave on New Year's Day.
Am stressedToo much work to do.
On top of that, the HA's solicitor is still suffering from, um, @rse-elbow confusion - but I have been reassured by my contact at the HA that his solicitor's incompetence will NOT cause me to lose out on the promised cashback award for exchanging on time. I have asked him to put this in writing before he goes on holiday at the weekend, because basically I can't order my furniture or appliances until I am clear about what sort of budget I'm on!
Off to a concert this evening.

ivyleaf wrote:Nicki - hopefully the rest of the day can only get better! A suggestion about your DD's top button on her blouses - when mine were little I read a good tip - cut the top button off and sew it back on using shirring elastic.
Works a treat!
Thanks for that...will have a rummage in my sewing box, if I haven't got any, someone in my family probably will have :rotfl:
I'm halfway through an episode of CSI (season 2) and I've ironed 5 things. Stopped to have lunch (and check the post that had arrived) ..that was ages ago though. Good news is that I have got my money back from my insurance claim from when the fridgefreezer went, a whole £36.15p :rotfl: Will try to remember to pay that in tomorrow while I'm near my bank, or I'll have to make a special trip
Must get on with the ironing. When this episode is finished I'll put the washing out on the line and another load in - I've had to split the 1 load of whites into 2 as there was too much for 1 load with DD's blanket in there
Right.... CSI here I comeCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
BargainRzl Your aussie friend is absolutly right.
Shez Maybe as your getting older you're just turning into a hotty. :grouphug:
PP That sounds promising. Good news.
Snowy My TWG still not here yet. How are you progressing with yours? Have you made your jelly yet? If so tell all.
Well I was wrong. It wasnt the end of House. :j Must have read it wrong. I'm off to bed so hope you have a happy day and ((((((hugs))))) who aren't.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
