    Good morning everyone,

Moggins and Kiwi - hope you are both feeling better today

Kaz - i agree, let the neighbour do it!!! I know how you feel about doing things yourself tho, im so used to doing everything myself that i find it difficult to accept help, esspecially when its something i think i can do myself!!!!!

PP - good luck with the new tablets, i hope they make a difference for you x

    ((HUGS)) to everyone xx

DS has his first league match today, have to meet everyone at the leisure centre at 10am and then over to Plymouth, they are doing really well at the moment, they won their last friendly on Tuesday 2 - 0, so we are hoping they can keep up the momentum and win today. At least its a nice day, i think a lot of mums on here know what its like standing in a muddy field in the cold at the weekend!!!!
Also need to pop into town afterwards to sort out the rest of DSs birthday presents, i have a couple of weeks to go, but im one of those terrible people that have to be ready well before the event, or i get panicky!!! Christmas then starts after his birthday, and if i havnt got it by the end of november, its not happening !!!! (xmas shopping in December is horrible, i love putting the decorations up and enjoy the build up, knowing ive got everything, i do annoy a lot of people being that organised tho!!!!)
Anyway, also going to Tescos to order his birthday cake, we are having a photo of his football team put on it, if he can decide which one he wants!!!!
Right, better get going, ive finished my cuppa and need to get dressed!!!
    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning All!!!

Have I made page 1? Don't think I've ever managed that before. :D

Feeling a tad hungover today, next time I suggest virtual drinks can someone please remind me white wine always gives me a headache!!! Didn't have much but decided to open some white and it really doesn't agree with me.

DH and I much better after an hour or so last night, am looking forward to spending some time together just the four of us this weekend.

Very tired as we were woken last night by drunken idiots outside our house, they were dropped off by taxi about 3.30 and proceeded to shout etc, DH then jumped up and caught one of them p***ing against our car wheels, he was given away by his mate laughing and shouting "now do the other one!!". DH was not impressed and rather scary at times like that so when he stuck his head out the window and shouted (rather rude, won't repeat :o ) they scarpered. He's asked me to get it valeted today, not very OS but with a hosepipe ban still on, needs must. Car is DH pride and joy, next to motorbike he never uses.

Lots to do today: washing mountain (stripped beds)
    shopping (cupboards are bare)
    clear kids toy cupboard
    general cleaning
    file some new recipes
    library

Have a lovely day all, the sun is still shining here, may add some sunbathing to my list too, my tan is slowly fading and I hate to see it go...:o

Thanks to all who were so kind yesterday, am off for some painkillers now...

Hugs to all in need and PP your bathroom is lovely, we just had ours done in July and I still get a little thrill when I go into it. Am desperate for new towels though but really want zebra stripe ones as floor is slate and rest is all white with chrome, would look so cool.

yes it was me asking about flour - have you done scones with the value flour? and do you always put baking powder in the SelfRaising just to be sure?
Dont know about posting on the index thread, i havent done it either.
Hi, Shez! Baking is my treat to myself this weekend, after a longish week in the office, and a lot of Flyladying. I even got an e-mail from a chap yesterday, saying I'm winning the prize for the most prolific poster round here (after years of being a hoarder, I need to shift loads)!

As for scones, I'm not too good at them, but DD and I are experimenting. I'll use your suggestion of extra baking powder in the SR and report back. :D

  • Hello All

My first time posting on the daily thread, I've been a lurker for far too long and you all seem like a friendly bunch that I thought I'd join in!

Not much planned today just the usual Saturday ritual of visiting my Grandma with the kids. OH is playing football this afternoon but playing away so we won't bother going as too far away.

Its OH's Grandads 80th B'day party tonight so I've got the pleasure of bathing my 3 little horrors and getting them to keep clean for oohh at least 5 minutes :)

Hope to chat more to you all soon

    Hi all,

Kaz - let the big strong man do it, stand there and laugh when it takes him ages!

Pink winged, sorry no reassurance here DS is 20 and hopefully has now stopped growing at 6'6" and size 12 feet:eek: . DD stopped at 15 when she was only 5'11":rotfl: :rotfl:

Welcome the Bride - that sounds like a song (are you named for the bride in Kill Bill or are you newly married?

Pen pen, I love baking but don't get to do it much because me and OH are in a constant battle with weight and we have very little willpower.

PP I echo what people have said, you seem to have found a really good workman, I wish we lived nearer to you so that we could use him when we have our extension done.

Better go and get on - want to clean the porch and back door amongst all the general cleaning today.

We have the joy of ikea, helping me with more decorating.

Mother is bringing me some food ( were a bit skint at the mo) i can imagine its not going to be OS at all, but hey ho, its free, so im not going to grumble -unless she gives me that horrendous CIF bathroom mousse that gives me a headache again, which she swears by!

Have a happy day all :)
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

  • Morning all,

Bit of a lie in for me today:j

Slow cooker loaded with Beef Goulash for tonight, friends arriving at about 8pm so need to make sure DD is ready for bed at 7 - 7.30. DS will sort himself out.

Have to take DS for a new guitar case this morning as his other has self-distructed:confused: , something I can't put off as he is studying music as one of his choices for GCSE.

WM on and house fairly tidy, see how long that lasts:rolleyes:

    Have a lovely saturday,

    Take care

    Morning folks!

So much for a lie-in this morning ..... bathed, breakfasted, lunch made for DD and dressed ... DH has gone to get a puncture fixed and then we're off on a hunt ....

We're going to look for a car ! We won't buy anything today, but we really need to make a decision as to what we'd like and how much it's going to cost. Then, we're off to a fabric shop to hopefully find some material we like for curtains for the dining room ... as we're very nearly almost there! Then to buy carpet for DD's room.

DH and I were having serious discussions about how much power a girl would need in their room, DH thought 2 sockets would be enough .... ha ha ..... we've compromised on 4 double sockets ;) Then there's the network cable that needs to be done too .... he has now told me that all the floor has to come up in her room / hall / bathroom / office / snug .. as he might as well lay it all properly, along with some thermostats he has meaning to do all year.... heck .... glad I hadn't hoovered the carpets this week.

The carpenter is hopefully coming around next week to measure up for making shutters :j

Now that DD's room and the dining room are almost done DH is now muttering ominously about ripping out the kitchen ..... eek. So, it looks like I'm going to have to setup some kind of "temporary" kitchen somewhere for 3 months (if I'm lucky .... Christmas meal is going to be a challenge!). I'm going to have to do some serious meal planning / batch cooking, if all I'm going to have is a steamer, microwave, slow cooker and BM. Can't live w/o cakes for that long, so methinks I shall be doing stuff I can freeze. Any idea if you can cook a crumble in the m/w ? Hmmmm .... a challenge methinks :)

Have a good day all ....
