Morning all,
A couple of busy days so just trying to catch up. Got the place back to spotless for last nights viewing so had to take the boys out half of the day to minimise mess they could make. Two more viewings today so fingers crossed.
I want to make a cappuchino cake and I need to roast some chicken for tea. have to time it right as I don't want things to smell really obvious for viewings. I always think it looks like you have tried too hard. My OH all time favourite dish with chicken involves lots of cream and garlic - but what if we have viewings tomorrow?
Like I said yesterday if anyone needs employment law stuff that they don't want to post on the forum then PM me. Pre SAHM I spent several years dealing with the nastier side of HR and tribunals. Always wanted to do CAB but I can't afford to donate child care costs.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Doh! 7am and allready 8 posts, and I can't remember much of what I've read! Mind, it could be because I've something on my mind... or more correctly eyebrows.....
I had a friend who does beauty treatments call 'round yesterday. She did my eyebrows and lashes for me last year and it made such a difference - everyone kept saying how good I was lookingAnyways, she did them again for me last night - I thought she'd used brown black last time, she's adamant it was black..... And this morning I'm not sure it suits me!! (She did black last night) I'm hoping it's just 'cause I've not had it done in ages (I'm so fair I have to 'paint' my eyebrows in daily or I look like a boiled egg:rolleyes: )
Other than that I spent the day continuing my dig out of the post - I've done roughly another 2-3 inches, and my hands are now a mess (bearing in mind I start to do treatments on my holistic therapy course next week:o ) I would've worn gloves, but the post hole is only 3 inches wide, so not really possible. A neighbour came over to see what I'm doing and has offered to do it for me this morning. I know I should be gratefull (and I am behaving that way) but there's a little bit of me cheesed off at the slightly condasending tone. Apparently he'll be able to do it in minutes..... am I being mean in kind of hoping that he might find it quite a bit harder than he thought? Perhaps the exhaustion (I can actually feel some of my muscles tremorring slightly!) is making me a bit narky.
Oops, looks like I've written an essay - sorry.
Hope all are well - ooh, and I do remember one thing - Churchmouse, at the end of the day I think your son should celebrate on his birthday, quite rediculouse of anyone to suggest otherwise. If I'd been caught up in it I'd hate to think that anyone would've been 'afraid' to celebrate their life on their birthday because of it. TBH I think it's all the more reason to celebrate - despite the damage they've done and how they try to intimidate us we still live our lives to the full.
Yikes! I'll be taking up a page myself at this rate...

Penny Pincher - just went back and had a proper look at the photos (couldn't scroll round them yesterday - sore fingers!) They've done a great job - and I second the comment on the tiles, they're really nice.

Morning, all! DH has taken children to swim club (gala on Tuesday) so I have 15 mins on here, then off to make lentil and bacon soup (with gammon stock from freezer), coffee and walnut cake, blackberry muffins, seed loaf, plum and sour cream tarts, plum lollies, and freeze the rest of the plums.
Then it's football for DS (they won 6-0 on Thursday :T ).
PP, you mentioned your DD's Science book, and her looking for the "rude bits". I asked my DS, and he denied he knew what ~I was talking about, but DD said that of course that's what she and all her freinds turned to first!
Catowen, thanks for the maltesters! BTW, I love the coffee Revels, so baggsie them!
Shez, of course the go-kart's for me! :rotfl: I'll bob the lemon curd recipe on the recipe thread. Do you just add a recipe on as a new post?Never done that before

Oh, let him do it! It'll save you the trouble, so just bite your tongue. I do sympathise, honest! The last time we wen to buy a car (a job I hate, btw, I'd rather clean the loo), I started off, but the salesboy would only speak to DH. I got v grumpy, we left, and he missed a sale.
Churchmouse wrote:Today I really need to crack-on. DS2's birthday is Monday ( poor devil, not been the same since 2001, he has even had comments that he shouldn't celebrate on the day anymore!!! Doh, lets really let the terrorists win shall we?!!)
Welcome back Posh Paws, I knew there was another PP out there!
Someone asked about flour (was it you, Shez?). I use Tesco value (12p, I think, for 1.5kg). Never had a problem.
MimiF, (((((hugs))))) for you.
The Bride, hello, and welcome to the daily thread! Hope you turn up now.

Morning all
Managed to get on fairly earlyWanted a lie in this morning but of course the boys were awake just after 6 and DS2 was desperate for his porridge, so it was easier to get up and make it. Did hope they'd stay downstairs, but no
Just had "words" with Mr TM about his ablity to completely ignore the mayhem going on around him and sleep away! Got told "I'm having them the whole weekend"!! aka he's taking them camping tonight, so whilst I'm in the house he can delegate all responsibility!! Erm, when I say "words" ..... it was more like a swift kick in the middle of the back along with a torrent of abuse about him drinking himself into a stupor at night and sleeping the day away till it suits him
Well, he will catch me when I'm tired
Anyway, I'm off to see Nelski today. Want to hit Cheshire Oaks with my birthday money, then tonight it's a very non-OS takeaway, bottle of wine and a mammoth business planning session (yes, really) Just need to iron my jeans, pack my PJ's, tame my hair and apply my face (best get that mixer up and running then :rotfl:)
OS will resime tomorrow when I return to an Everest of ironing.
((hugs)) to all that need them and I hope that you sickies are feeling better/got to the Dr's.
See ya
