Morning all just. I didn't have a good night thanks to DH being completely unable to wake up until 7pm last night so he finally came to bed about 3am this morning then put a DVD on at full blast which woke me up so I had a lie in this morning just resting and watching the antiques roadshow.

DS overslept and did not make it to cycle club. Poor little scrap is not having a good start to the school year, he came in to my room crying last night as the other kids have already started pushing him around. It's funny as he is 5'6" with size 12 feet and he is only 12 but with his AS he always seems to attract the wrong kind of attention. I will be on the phone to the school first thing on Monday, it's coming pretty close to me pulling him out of school and home schooling him. He shouldn't have to suffer like this because of his disability.

I must get some stuff cleared away to start the FL challenge on Monday otherwise I won't find the floors to hoover them.

    Have a good day all.

Kaz, let the muppet remove the post. You can save your energy for more worthwhile things, what were men invented for if not to do the heavy dirty work :D

The date on the daily thread reminded me that it's free entry to National Trust properties today, so I just thought I'd post in case anyone else had forgotten.

The sun is shining here today, so we're off to Mountstewart with a picnic.

    Have a great day everyone.:)

    Hello everyone.

I've just spent 40 mins reading today's and yesterday's threads. My goodnes you are all busy.

Tootles - the scottish words made me laugh. I'm a scot here in sassenach land with english DH. DS has decided he's bilingual as his daddy's english and his mummy's scottish, yet he can talk with both of them - he is only 4.

I have got DH trained into saying bunker.

Kids away with DH to pick up his new bike. I've stardropped the kitchen and all the woodwork in the hall.

BM is on, DW is on, WM has been on twice and about to go on again - I am so glad I'm 'old style' rather than living in the real olden days. We have an old washhouse in our back yard and when I look at the basin and think about having to light the fire under it and wash the clothes by hand I don't complain about laundry any more.

Think we'll have the last barbie of the year tonight - it's a bit chilly but we can wear jumpers! (Means DH does the cooking, I have to do the salady bits but they're easy)

    Take care all.

Homity pie is a recipe I got from Cranks cookbook.

I just adapt it from memory.

Pastry in small bun tins or as a large pie.

Par boil potatoes and cut into little chunks.

Chopped and cooked onion and garlic.

Add potato and garlic and onion to grated cheese and a little milk to "bind it - put in pastry case and bake for about 20 mins for small ones and 35 mins for big ones.

Vegetarian and can be eaten hot or cold.

You could add chopped bacon to it if you are not veggie.

PS I cheat and use frozen pastry on offer or at Jack fulton's or Farm Foods etc.

Just used up twice my allocation of "site time" reading the thread :rotfl:

Thanks to all for your reinforcements of what we've all said re son's birthday!! I take the view that life goes on and if you took that sort of thing on board you'd never do or celebrate anything for fear of offending someone!! Although having said that the year it happened, his birthday sort of cancelled itself, since we couldn't contact his BIL ( wife's brother) who works in the next building to the trade centre.

Penny-Pincher! thanks for the heads-up about the JL brochure! I had binned it unopened, but a quick root through the recycle bin and I retrieved it!:D Now have the free coffee voucher safely in my bag for my next expedition there!! Ta very much:D

Welcome to The Bride:hello: Look forward to getting to know you!!

Tootles, love your avatar, love it even more (buy am jealous!!) now that I know it's your gateway. Soooo pretty!!

Well going to have to get moving, today is going fairly well (finers crossed) re getting stuff done, but it won't if I sit here on my bum all day!!

    Love CMx

  • Just got in from work, and haven't had a chance to read the thread yet.

I am sooooo Peed off. I have got home to find the house looks like a bomb has gone off in it, my bank statement confirms that I am officially skint, and I have a raging headache and feel sick:mad:

Ooh that's better, I'm sorry but need to yell somewhere :o

Right off to tidy up, and calm down before they all get home from wherever they have all gone to.

    Hugs and love to all.

    xx
