(((((hugs))))) to foreverskint and learningtosave. I hope you both feel better soon.
I've had a busy day today. Decided to use up some leftovers so I now have two portions of cottage pie in the fridge (DS and DD's dinner for Monday sorted), some tuna potato cakes (DS loves tuna but DD and I hate it so these are especially for him) and a tomato and basil sauce. The soup mix is soaking so I will be making hm vegetable soup tomorrow. Now all I have to do is decide what other leftovers I will use with the chicken breasts that have to be cooked today. Feel a curry coming on.
BargainRZL will look out for you tonight. I hope you have a great time.
Well, that curry won't cook itself so byeeee."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Hi all! Hooray, I've been trying to post for ages and the wretched pc kept insisting it "couldn't find server" and that it was downloading a picture (it wasn't!). I only hope I manage to post my reply after i've posted it!
(Is there a "fingers crossed" smiley?:p )
Anyway, here goes.
Churchmouse - thank you for the compliment - I thought you were lovely too, and felt very "at home" with you. Must meet again soon! We had squirrels nesting in our chimney a few years ago - one day one of their babies fell down the chimney! luckily it was okay as it landed on bits of their nest that had also fallen down. At least it put them off coming back the next year!:D
pinkwinged - cats are such good company, aren't they? Mine are quite old now but i will really miss them when they go - they are very well, though, so I hope we will have them for a while yet. LOL at your tall son - my 12yo DGS is taller than me too.
Aussielass - I keep meaning to ask, is your YS fit and well again now? I do hope so, he sounded in a bad way at one point.
jockettuk - so glad to hear you managed to find a good plumber! I know there must be plenty of good ones around, but they certainly seem hard to find. Good luck with the decorating!
Penny-Pincher - I'm glad you had a good sleep! I hope the new tablets help you. Thanks for the warning about the JL mailshot - we haven't had one here yet, so fingers crossed for early this week or I won't have a chance to have that free coffee before the expiry date as we are going away next Saturday. Hope you have a good birthday tomorrow!
dlb - best wishes to your DH as he starts his new job!
hex2 - don't worry about the cooking smells - I'm sure viewers will assume that someone whose home smells of home-cooked food is likely to have a nice clean house! Good luck, let's hope the prospective buyers will be fighting for it!:D
kazonline- not to worry if your neighbour sounded a bit condescending -you'll have got the wretched thing dug out, and he'll have enjoyed showing what a big strong man he is!:p
Penelope Penguin - that baking sounds lovely, especially the coffee and walnut cake! I had a friend visiting last week, so I made mrbadexample's choc yoghurt cake. When I tried it after the first 2 days, I felt it needed something else, so added coffee filling and butter-icing, and walnuts. Yum! Isn't it infuriating when car salesmen/boys assume a woman couldn't possibly know anything about cars! I'm not surprised you walked out - serve him right!
Ticklemouse - I do sympathise about your DH determinedly sleeping on through all the noise. Mine used to be good at that whenever the babies cried at night, even in the same room - I bet yours did that too! Hope you manage to keep Nelski away from the handbags! Good luck with the business planning.
Shez - I hope Lakeside wasn't too manic and that your DH found a dinner jacket - and did you manage to get any shoes? Hope so!
Elona - I was going to ask what homity pie was but someone else beat me to it! It sounds very tasty.
Catowen - hope you managed to find some nice things for your DS's birthday! The cake with a photo of his football team sounds a lovely idea - but he may decide it's too beautiful to eat!:rotfl:
The Bride - welcome to the Daily Thread! Hope your OH's Grandad's party goes well.
lynxpower - Ikea on a Saturday?! OMG you're brave! Still I'm sure you survived! I know what you mean about the Cif bathroom mousse - it doesn't give me a headache, but it does make me cough. Still, I'm okay now, with my Stardrops! :j
Zed42 - hope you enjoyed looking at all those cars!
Tootles - glad you've been sleeping better! Hope you had a nice time at your friend's.
ronankfan - very well done to your DD2!
Moggins - ((((((HUGS)))))) about your DS! Kids can be so cruel. Maybe home education would be better for him for the time being.
I'm sure you will make the right decision - you know him best, after all.
dorry - congrats on finishing your course! (Permission to feel smug!):D
kyle - it's lovely looking at those brochures! Enjoy holiday-hunting! Canada sounds lovely. I remember my DD2 always used to say she wanted to go to Vancouver - she just liked the name of it so was sure it must be a nice place! What that assistant said makes me wonder if they've been asked to "push" America because so many people are choosing to go elsewhere at present.
thriftmonster - enjoy your present-knitting!
Learningtosave - Awww, you do sound poorly! Sounds as if you should see the emergency doc rather than waiting until Monday! (((HUGS)))
Snoozer - German kitchens are lovely quality, aren't they - apparently there you have to serve an apprenticeship before you are allowed to make kitchen units for sale, or to fit them. I saw a programme about it once, contrasting the German kitchens with British ones.
Been busy washing all my dark summer clothes - will do the remaining light-coloured ones tomorrow and try to wear as few as poss before I pack! We're going to Italy on a coach holiday to Sorrento - 3 overnight stops each way, must be mad, but it's a nice relaxing holiday for DH as he doesn't have to do a thing except sit back and let somebody else do the driving!
Best wishes

Evening Folks
Well my darling sister has moved into her new house. What was supposed to be a 3 month temporary stay in our dinning room turned into 3 years but now its over :j I suppose I will miss her and DD certainly will, its not like shes just going round the corner either as Blackpool is a good hour from us, but needs must and theres no way she could get on the housing ladder in Southport. Anyway I started to clean out her room and to say it was minging would be being polite  , I hope she cleans abit more in her new house than she did here or shes going to end up on one of those programs about enviromental health inspectors :rotfl:
DH is just taking the van back and then going to pick up DD from her grandmas as I still cant drive, dont know what I'm going to do on Monday if my foots no better as I wont be able to get to work. Tonight we are having something out of the freezer washed down with Champgne to celebrate the start of us being a normally family without a lodger  Will proberbly watch the proms as I love the last night and will look out for Bargin Rzl.
Have a good evening everybody and hugs if you need themSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
LTS - i hope you feel better soon, def think a call to the emergency doctor is in order!!!!
Well, DSs team won their first league match 4 - 0!!!! They havnt lost a game now since the end of January, so we are all so proud of them. They have a tournement to play in tomorrow, so no lie in for me, but never mind, the forecast is good, so hopefully a nice picnic and chat with the other mums, and maybe if the boys play well, another win (have won both tournements they have been in this year!!!!)
Got most things that i wanted in town, including an annoying birthday card with a footballer on, that sings when you open so he will love that!!! Needed a few more party bags, but Woolies still havnt got them, so hopeing they will next week, other wise a few of the boys will have to have the simpsons instead of football. Havnt ordered the cake either, apparently they can do it in about 20 minutes, so im going to get it next week so that it will be nice and fresh. DS isnt worried about it looking to good to eat, just wants to have the slice with his face on!!!!!
I fancied a change, so bought a hair dye, so i now have black/purple colour hair (was called mystic black) im really pleased with it!!
Right, off to make dinner and call my 2 in from outside,
Hope everyone has a good evening (ive bought a bottle of wine and some chocolate, so a good day today!!!!)
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Hello Again :hello:
I've decided against taking DD2 & DS1 to OH Grandads party and my mom has kindley offered to babysit. No doubt all the in-laws will have a moan but its going to be far too noisy, smoky and to be honest the thought of running around all evening after DD2 ( who has now officially entered the terrible 2's  ) while being puked over by DS1 does not appeal to me one little bit!
So Im off for a bath, put some slap on , GHD my hair within an inch of its life and have a few cheeky pints
Have a good evening everybody! If you like it, do it.

Hello again all
Here we are, back from a hedgerow foraging trip and richer by a good few pounds of Blackberries, plus the unexpected bonus of Greengages! :j
I'm pleased to say that the antibiotics I got from the Doc yesterday are doing the trick on the abcess under my tooth. I was on three painkillers every four hours, yesterday.
I got two Lightspeed voucher codes through, yesterday, so along with the £10 Ciao voucher, that'll help with DS's 8th birthday next month.
Churchmouse: oh, how sad that your DS doesn't feel as though he should celebrate his birthday. No matter what else happened on that day, it was first a GOOD day, when he was born. That's what matters.
Pink-Winged: you're going to have to stop sprinkling Gro-More in your DS's boots!
ajr: how did you get on with the boot sale? I'm thinking we're about ready to do one of those - there seems to be more stuff than cupboard space, at the moment!
Tootles: love the Avatar pic - your garden looks glorious!
Anniebooklover: well done on the car insurance saving. I've got to do that next year - but not until I've picked up my £200 for having stayed with them for five years! I'll be a bit pig-sick if my new premium comes in at £200 cheaper.
Bargain Rzl: Good luck at the Proms! We'll look out for you on the t.v.!
Learningtosave: oh dear, you do sound as though you're suffering! Take it easy, drink lots of water and take some paracetamol to help with the aches and pains. It might also be worth considering ringing the emergency doctor for some antibiotics - sooner the better! Either way, hope you feel better soon.
Catowen: ooooOOOooo get you with the black/purple hair!!Sounds fabulous, dahlink! :happyhear
Oh well, I suppose I'd better go and attend to the dishes and get the dry washing in before it gets damp.
Hugs all round - have a great evening!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Hi, all!
Ivyleaf, the cakes are out of the oven. The coffee will be good (an old favourite), but the blackberry mufins are fabulous! First time I've made these, so thanks to everyone who suggested them!
L to S, sounds like you need antibiotics. Don't leave it too long. Waking up in the night unable to breathe is very scary!
Well done small Catowen! We lost 2-1. Close match, but probably a fair result. Want to swap some cholcoalte for a muffin?
