Hey everyone,
I usually lurk as I don't feel Old Style enough to properley post everyday - but Penny Pincher's birthday has prompted me to post so I can say - HAPPY BIRTHDAY PP! I hope you have a lovely, lovely day and are very spoilt - you deserve it.
I am up very late as I had a very lazy Saturday, knitting and watching telly and slept from 3pm to 7pm so I've not been tired until now. I had grand plans to do a big tidy/clean but that didn't happen! This evening though, I did make green thai curry for the freezer and chicken stock - both with leftovers from yesterday's roast chicken. The curry smells lovely but the stock burnt so thats not too good - the house stinks as well so I can't wait to throw open the doors and windows tomorrow! I also made up a recipe for cauliflower and almond soup too - I went to a cafe this week where that was on the menu and it smelt so lovely that I had a bash and it tastes great!
Plans for tomorrow are to do that big tidy/clean, change the bed linen, do a couple of loads of washing and hang it outside, make some carrot and coriander soup for lunches this week, make some ciabatta rolls and also prepare for my job interview on Wednesday and make a start on another job application which is due in this week.
Anyway - I hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
Love

Morning all! Up early for another busy day.
Happy birthday PP!
I've put a candle in a blackberry muffin for you!
Calley and Snowy, can recommend puting the berries into muffins!
Catowen, thanks for the chocolate!
Squishy, think you're wise not to use your car today.
FS, have a great day! You sound very organised! :T
Snowy, good luck with the application. :j
Scotspen, what are you knitting? My knitting will be coming out of hibernation soon, and I'll be finishing a chunky red jumper.
Amanda, have a lovely day!
Tootles, your garden looks idylic!
BM is on, pastry resting in the fridge to make chicken pie and another plum tart for the freezer. Out digging in the garden today (was lovely yesterday). We're doing a bit of restructuring so I need to clear space to plant bulbs, then a trellis, over the autums, and new plants in the spring.

Morning all  I'm fuming! I've come down this morning and had to spend my first twenty minutes clearing up after my not-so-dear partner. When I went to bed at 11pm, I left him integrating a new computer (which had been donated by a friend) into our three-way network, which meant swapping lots of hardwear around and then getting DS's programs installed on the new Tower unit. Of course, he's knocking back the booze at the same time, needless to say. GRRR!! So the obsolete base unit was thrown in on top of DS's toybox, the obsolete scanner (a huge dinosaur of a thing) was chucked on top of that - and under it all was the keyboard and mouse, half hanging out of a cardboard box. The vac was still out, a microfibre cloth was languishing on the floor ... GRRRR!!! I HATE the way he never properly finishes anything, but waits for the staff (me) to do it. :wall:
So sorry to vent all over you - but it was either that or break things - and I can't afford to break things!
Churchmouse: since my DP complained about my ironing, he now does his own. Inevitably, like you, he always finds that stubborn stain when he's just ironed the rest of the shirt - and he always hurls it back in the washbox whilst muttering at me like as though I've done it on purpose. Pretty soon, he's going to find himself doing his own washing, too!!
Tootles and ajr: good luck at the boot sale this morning! Congrats on the earnings from yesterday, ajr! That's amazing!
Squishy: don't blame you for leaving the car at home, I get totally freaked out when the car is misbehaving!
SnowyOwl: good luck with the jobhunting - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (well, mentally anyway, or I won't be able to type! lol). We blackberried yesterday and DS has announced that he wants to do that every Saturday, in future. He was most disappointed when I told him they were seasonal!
ScottishSpendaholic: more good luck jobhunting wishes heading your way!
PenPen: another knitter! I'm just about finished doing a patchwork blanket for chilly sofa mornings.I've got two more pieces of border to do and then sew the border on - just in time for the weather to change, I think!
The best of it is, that is been made entirely from donated/freecycled wool.
Right then, I hear the kettle calling, so that leaves me time in which to sayHAPPY BIRTHDAY, PENNY-PINCHER!!
 :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Hope its the best yet!!:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -

Happy Birthday Penny Pincher!
Hope you have the fabulous day you deserve. (I love your daughters card - you've one amazing kid there, a credit to you and your DH)
Oops, I've forgotten everything else I've read again!!! (watch out Penny pincher, I'm only 33 and senile dementia seems to have set in allready!)
Today I need to do more on the fence and get the uniforms ready (I bet you lot are as sick of reading aboout this pesky fence as I am of putting it up!!) I'd like to visit a particular bootsale today as I think it's the last in the year for that one, and I've yet to go there. On the way back I'll collect my new compost bin, YAY!!!
Luckily tomorrow we start college at 1, just for this week. That will give me the opportunity to have a quick tidy around before the week starts. Currently the l'room floor is covered in lavender 'seeds' from where I was sorting it last night into manageable batches to hang. On the plus side of that is that the whole house smells wonderfull!
