Just a quick post. Hope everyone has had a good start to the weekend. I've been out to my grandparents, and came back with two carrier bags of apples, a punnet of raspberries, half a bag of runner beans and a bag of tomatoes. I spent this afternoon cooking luch and tea (in one go), and fell asleep from 4pm until 7pm.

Have a good evening all... Powie

I've been thinking the same this eve, lol
Nice kind man from across the road came over to help with digging iut the old post as offered - and found it wasn't easy peasy after all :D After a few hours another few inches had been gained, and it was finally decided that it was deep enough, and to leave the rest in there. I had no idea it was going to be so deep - I was half expecting to be having tea with Aussie lass! :D:D:D
The post now in, I now have to put up another post and trim to size, paint all three posts, adjust the panel (thought I'd done it, but hadn't :( - mind, nice kind man said he's use his electric thingy to do that for me too :D), put it up, hammer more nails into makeshift gate, affix hinges to said gate and post, affix latch to gate and post..... And then I can get back to putting the other fence up. Why do these jobs allways seem easier than they are ?
Thanks to everyone who made me chuckle on the thread - and to everyone who encouraged me to accept the help. I'm going to crawl up the stairs to bed now and attempt to straighten out my back :D
Goodnight all - I hope everyone sleeps well,

Pink & Ivyleaf Well I can only say one word - Showoffs :D What's your secret. Tell me please. If your not on the page I'm on I completly forget.
BTW Ivyleaf DYS has recovered. It was just some bug in his system. They never did give it a name. Was on the drip for nearly a week and then came good. Took him about a fortnight to get back to 100% but he's well now thanks.

We are off out shortly. Going to help a friend do some cementing. He's helping us with our house so we are giving him a hand with his. I was sort of hoping I would sound really stuffed up in the head :D so I could bung on being too ill & mooch around watching them all do it. But I feel great this morning. Drat.

ajr That's fab. You must have got some really good prices. Good luck with your tomorrow Tootles.

Ok best make a move. Have a good nights sleep everyone. Byeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

No secret.........keep the thread open on another page.

I don't post very often as I hate missing anyone out, and it's usually very long by the time I log on.....so it must be even longer for you!

I'm glad DYS has recovered. Have a great day and no skiving on the cementing! :D

  • Good morning everyone!

I know I'm being cheeky as its barely sunday yet, but thought I'd take the chance to start the thread while I can't sleep and am busy browsing round the site. :o

Got many plans for the day, but goodness knows what will actually be done. Car is making a few funny noises which is rather worrying - when I'm slowing down from a higher gear it sounds like the engine is overrevving or just not coping with the speed going down or something - thankfully its booked into a garage to get work done on monday anyway, so just have to hope that I can get it there okay on monday morning  Does mean I won't be going shopping tomorrow though as don't want to tempt fate!

Oh well, guess I might as well go empty the drier which I had to put on earlier. Hopefully will get to sleep soon!

*hugs* to all that follow, and have a good day :D

Could be a sticky accelerator cable. Mine once got caught on something and I thought my engine was going to explode.

Plans for today study and more study and I might go blackberry picking.

    Happy Birthday Penny-pincher!!!

squishy: hope it's nothing serious with the car:eek:

Calleyw: have fun with the blackberrying, and do take a rest from the study.

Today, I am hoping to have an easier day, than yesterday:rolleyes:

Just cook a sunday roast and make sure everyone's uniform is ready for monday morning.

Have a lovely morning, hopefully I won't see it much before 10 as I am up so late:p

    Morning everyone

Just want to wish Penny Pincher a very, very happy birthday. I hope you have a fabulous day PP!

Squishy, I don't like the sound of that too much! Mind you my car used to do that, but only after I'd been driving for over an hour - an hour away from home isn't the best time for the car to go splat. However it never did do anything other than roar while stationary or slowing down, and eventually it went away of its own accord. I did tell a mechanic about it, but what was he going to do....drive it up the motorway for an hour:confused:? Whatever it is, I hope it is cheap and easy to sort out.

Calley...enjoy your studying...and do definitely go blackberry picking, better to have too many rather than think wish you had more when it's too late. I am going blackberry picking too. I really really want to make some jam!

So that's the height of my Sunday excitement...blackberry picking. I have spotted a couple of jobs in the local paper which sound interesting, so think I'll bung my application in the post for them. The Sainsbury form is in - tbh that's the only job I want right now, anything else would I think just make my head spin - but I need a few options just in case Sainsbury's don't want me.

    Happy Sunday everyone
