  • I want to stitch a small dog onto a Tshirt but I'm not sure about scaling up.

My original design was done on 18 count Aida, using just 1 strand of thread, but the only waste canvas I have is 14 count. I know my finished design will be bigger (& I've managed to calculate how much bigger all by myself ) but I'm thinking that just using 1 strand of thread wont be enough & I should use 2 strands - what do you all think?
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

    Evening all

Justkeepswimming -I would go for 2 threads with 14 HPI fabric ;)

Which charts do you have that are fall, summer, winter? hen I might be able to help -but I won't promise :rotfl:

Well folks I have got loads done on mums xmas pressy -Im hoping to get the actual figure done this weekend -then its just all the background to do  :rotfl:
    -6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.5
  • Hi MrsM.

The charts are by Teresa Wentzler & just called "Fall" (which I'm planning on doing first), "Summer" (which is the one Misty Blue has started) & "Winter". The picture of the finished design isn't good enough for me to even guess what shade of thread the Balger is!

In the instructions I need to mix 2 different coloured stands of DMC with Balger for the bottom stitch, then use the 2 different strands of DMC without the Balger for the top stitch. Seems like an afwul lot of faff to me!

But then the whole chart looks a nightmare....
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

  • just found this thread so had to join in

i love to do cross stitch, i tend now to buy kits but also have a stash of charts/books thread and material. i like the bigger designs best. i love miarbelia deisgns and all our yesterday designs as weel, but will stitch any sunject if it takes my fancy. mostly buy my kits at craft shows as i can see a sample of the finished kit.

maybe to save money we can swap charts etc as once i have finished with mine they get binned or just stuck in a bag somewhere
  • thought i would share with you my latest two projects they are for my mum for her birthday hope you like

    Hi all,
just to say Ruth_Honey well done on your sampler....my shameful confession is that my 1st boys one got finished by his 1st birthday, my 2nd son i have finally finished his -he is now 4:eek: , and i have yet to start my twins' samplers and they are nearly 1.5yrs already!! I just get sidetracked doing little projects for baptisms/births for everyone else inbetween!

I can't wait to see the Bra cross stitch completed too....i am tempted to buy this one as the card is one of my best sellers with my girlie friends, so it would be cool to have it stitched as a 40th pressie etc. Please post any photos of it completed.

I am trying to decide today whether to continue my cardshop subscription, or just finish all the projects and kits i have already to do, and save the money instead...um tough choice. Maybe i'll let the subscription run out and see if they give me any tempting offers to come back...!

Thanks! I gave it to my friend today and she loved it! She said she'll send me a pic of Louise with it once she's framed it. :j

I will confess that I've started on the Bra kit already-just couldn't resist! I've done the heading and the first 2 bras (BRAssica and liBRA), and am now on the 3rd.
Took my Lizzie Kate Winter design (was supposed to be my Grandma's christmas present) to my cross stitch meet today, so got some more of that stitched, which is good because I need that finished, and then to stitch Summer to go with it for her birthday. Which is on Sunday:eek: -but I won't see her for a while, so I have some more time. Not enough hours in the day!!!

I subscribe to 3 stitching mags, but I really want to drop one or two. Just can't afford it, but I know I'll end up buying them in the shops if I end my subscription. Then I'll be spending £12 a month instead of about £8-9 sub rate, so I don't know... I have so many magazines here as it is, but I do like reading them. Especially the ones I'm in! ;)

I think I have one - let me check and get back to you. If I find it, you are welcome to have it.
