    Hi Maria...

Yep, contact DMC if you can and they are usually happy to post out the extra colours... failing that -post what numbers you have run out of and I will look in my file to see if I have any you can have ;)

Ruth Honey -i will see if I can get my niece to email me a picture of the dragon..I loved him and it was so hard to give it away.. but she loves him so I am happy, he was the biggest pic I have done yet..about 24" tall if I remember correctly and he was wrapped around a celtic ring... there was a 2nd chart in the set but I can't find it still for sale (I will have most of the colours in my files left from when I did the 1st one)

    Hi Maria.

I agree with the other ladies, I'd call the company and explain about the threads running out.
If it was a sale kit, maybe £4-5, I'd buy the threads myself but £20 is alot of money to spend only to have to spend more because someone made a mistake.

Ruth honey - your birth sampler is beautiful, well done.

Ruth/ Mrs Mc - will look for those card kits as they are lovely. I have tried Light Effects previously but got in a mess, probably used too long lengths? Would like to have another go.

Maria - I would try and get more thread too either from the store where you purchased the kit or DMC directly.

I now choose who I stitch for as I don't have much time to stitch so would hate to spend time on something and think the recipient won't appreciate it. I've leanrt the hard way as I have stitched a couple of things for my MIL - 2 small framed pictures, several cards and a coaster and she doesn't seem to appreciate it at all. That's it now, no more stitching for her!!!

Hi rainmac.... have Pm'd you ;)

I find that when working with light effect and metalic threads as long as you work in short length you should be ok... and after every few stitches I hold the hoop/fabric and drop the needle and let it spin to untangle its self :p

Managed to scan the image of the 6 kits in the range so you know what you are looking for

Glad DMC were so helpful Maria.

Why not check out ebay for some cross stitch magazines. I have some listed at the moment and they are proving quite popular. Won't tell you who I am as I'm not touting for business but everyones magazines are selling for around £1-1.50 and if the seller is combining postage it may well work out cheaper for you. Some people even have this months issue on there. Though one lady sold the current mag for more than the shops with postage on top  so don't get too carried away bidding.

    Hope this helps

You can sometimes get cross stitch magazines (or kits) in charity shops and if you have a local one, I'm sure they would put them by for you.

This carousel horse had been in my stitching box untouched for about 5 years! :o I keep getting sidetracked with other projects but I will get back around to working on it soon.

Hi Misty Blue (& everyone else) :hello:

Following your advice I got the charts from ebay (for fall, summer & winter) but now I'm somewhat panicked by their complexity! I've enlarged them, but they're still quite scary!

But I'm not sure where I can get the Balger from. My haberdashers don't stock them & an internet search didn't shed much either? Anyone got any bright ideas?

The 3/4 stitching also looks very intricate...

How many hours do you think it should take to complete? My daughter wants all 3 done for her birthday in October - I think I'll be lucky to get 1 done by 2012!

    How is yours coming along?

This thread has been great for getting me motivated again - thanks to all of you. This Xmas, I WILL be sending handmade cards to family!
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D
